When: Dec 6-10 time frame
Where: House "Darkness"
What: Snowed in Shenanigans!
[ Had Vanitas known that, ultimately, playing in the snow and enjoying some warmth afterwards would lead to him being stuck there until the worst of this is over and done with, he wouldn't have engaged Mira in the first place. Though there are really worse places to be, he guesses. It beats what he usually has to do and maybe there's something to actually living in a building?
Maybe. Hard telling since that's not something Vanitas is actually used to.
The biggest problem, other than the lights and other magically powered things going weird, is that he is bored. Vanitas has no idea what to do with himself - not that he's had any idea what to do with himself since arriving to this world in the first place, mind. So he takes to wandering around the house aimlessly. Maybe looking for something to get into. Cause trouble.
Who knows. ]

Well, this is new. Her eyebrows shoot up at the presence of a guest, and a rather young-looking one at that.]
Oho. Did we adopt a stray? First I've heard of it.
no subject
I'm not a stray.
[ Why are people saying that? ]
no subject
[After a pause, she smirks, then puts a hand on her hip as she turns to him.]
I'm joking, you realize. You're just the first guest I've met in the house, so I figured perhaps Mira had started taking in her share of the local orphans... or orphaned Mirrorbound, I suppose. Not that I mind.

[ It's technically true, for all Vanitas knows. Even so would Ventus' parents even count as his own anymore? ]

Aymeric
When: Dec 6-10 time frame
Where: House "Darkness"
What: Snowed in Shenanigans!
[ Suffice to say that there are a few things that Vanitas still struggles on when it comes to magic. Of course he is also pretty good at, well, magic in general. What other choice had been given to him in the past? Nothing, really. It had either been success or failure and nothing in between.
While he isn't fond of being placed here in this world without full use of his abilities, he can deal with it so long as he has something to replace it. However even this magic that Van has been given seems to only work some of the time since the snows have seen fit to roll in.
This is making it especially hard to deal. Very hard. So he's sitting in a main room, glaring at his hands and concentrating really hard on a simple spell. And it's only serving to work him up instead. ]
no subject
You appear troubled.
[An obvious conclusion given just a little observation. Placing his gifted goods in the kitchen, he comes back to keep the boy company. Given Aymeric is a Witch, he understands not having full capabilities of magic right now, even if he doesn't practice magic as much as others. But, he can still try to sympathize.]
no subject
and Emet-Selchkeep as company. There are certainly a lot of do-gooder types here, huh? ]Agitated. But this is happening all over, isn't it?
[ Given that anything that has magical roots seem to be going in and out periodically... ]
Thancred
When: Dec 6-10 time frame
Where: House "Darkness"
What: Snowed in Shenanigans!
[ By now Vanitas has, of course, noticed all of the people milling about this house. Just how many "champions" are there? Is everyone a hero type or what? Vanitas doesn't really know what to make of it by now, but he's familiar with a good portion, he realizes.
However he isn't really doing anything annoying at the moment. Oh no, that would be his one lone Unversed. It has already found its way inside. Vanitas can feel it, but can't exactly locate it. That's what's going on here. Just searching for his lone little stray emotion. ]
Where are you. Just come out already...
no subject
Although he hadn't expected to see Vanitas here, at least, and he tilts his head, curious.]
What's gone missing?
no subject
He pauses in his search, casting a glare over in Thancred's direction. ]
My familiar, of sorts.
[ Because that's basically its function right now isn't it? ]
no subject
'Of sorts'? What does it look like?
no subject
[ The Flood has to be around here somewhere. It's possible it could have taken off, but unlikely. It's pretty cold out. ]

Ventus
When: Between Dec 11-21
Where: Around Town
What: An Unversed is not a puppy, Ventus
[ Again, Vanitas isn't really keeping his Flood on any sort of leash or restrictions. However he is keeping a closer eye on it. How could he not, given that the thing is acting similar to a familiar? Maybe he had better keep an eye on it.
Or... Maybe not? Vanitas is pretty sure it had been right there just a second ago. He groans, frustrated. ]
What's the point in having the stupid thing if I can't even control it properly?
[ But while Vanitas is struggling with keeping the Flood in view, it's already run off - not too far away, mind. Just far enough because it sees a "target." Or maybe Ventus is essentially just a source of Vanitas' Irritation and the thing is simply drawn to that. Who knows.
Regardless, it's going to run right up on Ventus one way or another. ]
no subject
he's lost in his thoughts when something catches his eye and he stops to curiously look down and see... some strange, black creature at his feet. ven shifts the bag in his arms and tilts his head down at the flood.]
... Hello?
no subject
A Flood that looks at him. Twitching. It looks at the bag and then back to Ventus. Just what is the blonde doing with that? Does it need it? ]
no subject
[he catches the look aimed at his bag and a thought strikes him. shifting, ven reaches into the paper bag and pulls out a piece of the bread he was bringing back and holds it out for the flood.]

Aqua
When: Dec 23
Where: Festival
What: Food and Whatever Else that follows
[ Last month it had been a party and this time it's a festival? Vanitas isn't sure why people seem so keen on, well, being around other people all of the time. Even as he meanders through the park he can see couples bundled up and huddling against each other. Families are around the various bonfires and laughing, just genuinely enjoying each other's presence. Of course Vanitas doesn't have any experience with such things himself. It doesn't touch anything within his little broken heart seeing any of this either.
He just kind of scoffs and moves on. "Togetherness" is still something that is lost on him, even if he does have something to do with some people. Though he isn't sure if he is forcing himself upon them or the other way around a this point.
Vanitas stops short at the tables, noting how many there are. There's so much food. Of course he would take some, but as he sees people here and there add to the ever growing number of dishes, he doesn't even know if he can. Not without offering something first at least... ]

However, it's the familiar messy, black colored hair that grabs her attention - turning a bit to stop when she sees golden-colored eyes. Her wings fold into themselves. She isn't sure how to act around Vanitas at this point. ]
... Vanitas. [ She greets quietly. ]
no subject
She doesn't need to walk on eggshells of all things around him. But maybe caution is wise because regardless of whether he is pursuing anything, he is a threat to be taken seriously. ]
Master Aqua.
[ Well. No one said he couldn't continue to be sarcastic! ]

Papyrus
Where: Around Town
What: Maybe an Unversed is a puppy?
[ The unprecedent snowstorm turned out to be a lot of work and worry. Helping keep rooftops from collapsing, streets from filling, and shades from wrecking too much havoc... If he wasn't a skeleton already, Papyrus might have worked himself to the bone. But he's already a skeleton, and his bones didn't mind the cold as he worked outside. His new patches of skin do, but thankfully they're covered in enough fur to manage.
With the arrival of the full moons, he's sporting a good deal more fur. Like all monsters Papyrus shifts to a more monstrous form as the moons turn, and as a turnskin his altered form is more animalistic. His is even more than most, as he changes to an outright skeletal wolf on the full moons, with the redbrown fur thickening all down his spine from head to tail.
And, like the other times he's shifted, his mindset has gone far more to the dogs. Emotions linger and echo in the canine's mind. He's enthusiastic with energy to spare, between relief at not being sick, and his bond supporting him. The snow is familiar in a way that's comforting, comfortable for jumping in. If monster instincts were easy, he could happily roll about being a dog.
Unfortunately it's not that simple, and lingering worry clings with him. He snaps at encroaching strangers, especially monsters, as he roams about. There's something unsafe about being alone, without friends to protect or be protected by. When he smells someone familiar, he beelines in that direction, following his skeletal snout. ]

Granted, Vanitas has mentioned to Thancred about getting the Flood a collar and leash. And he hadn't been joking. In fact, that is exactly what Vanitas is setting himself to do today.
Unfortunately, said Flood is not cooperating at all. The moment that it can get out the door, it takes off. Maybe Vanitas should be more concerned, but well. That Flood is just doing what Floods do. It's seeking out others that are irritated or experiencing other negative emotions. That is, after all, what the creature is meant to do and feed upon. So by the time Papyrus catches the scent? More than likely the Flood is attempting to tick someone else off.
Probably by stealing food or a scarf. ]
no subject
Recently shifted turnskins are, after all, tired and hungry as a rule. Papyrus had a bit of a laydown before heading on the streets, a nap in his little den of blankets and pillows. And he'd nibbled at food he'd left - intentionally - in easy reach of the nap area. But he's still hungry. And from here, the combination of familiar-smelling person and food promises the perfect combo:
They could share the food.
It's with these notions in mind that the mostly-skeletal wolf takes in the sight of the Flood, in the process of stealing food from someone who's loudly unhappy about it. Their outrage and a bit of fear - the Flood vaguely resembles some of the Shades - rings out in their voice and smell alike. But the food smells delicious, and they could always go get more.
Papyrus approaches, ears up, circling around to check how the Flood reacts to his presence. Do they mind? Will they share? He could help. ]
no subject
It isn't as thought the creature can grow stronger by feeding off of people and their emotions, though it still seems to enjoy being around them. However this time food takes priority. Without being able to feed off of emotions, apparently actual food has taken over that need.
When Papyrus shows up, the Flood puffs up again. It is ready to fight, if only because it has no idea what this bony dog-like thing wants. Is he a threat? An enemy? Someone after what it's already taken? ]
