... Well, you're learning how to use magic, aren't you? Maybe you can start there.

And magic will help me find meaning...?

[ Doesn't sound right to him. ]

... No. You have to find that on your own.

But... I think that you may be able to find it in this world - through what you can choose to learn.

[darkcharge]

Ah huh...

[ He still seems pretty unconvinced. How is learning magic, or rather what he chooses to learn in regards to magic, going to really do for him? ]

Somehow I don't think it is all as simple as that.

It won't be.

... But, the fact that you can do this without Xehanort's influence is already a big step forward.

Just like you can make your own choices without your master, right?

[ Because think how hard it was - and still is at times - to pull away from the man's teachings. The man that had raised her. Taught her everything she had known?

Words are just words. They're easy to say but lack. ]

I know what I want to do beyond what he taught me. It's different.

And how long did that take, huh?

Is this how you respond when someone tries to help you?

[ Vanitas had been looking at the table. He freezes when she says that. Yet another time.

His gaze hardens to a glare. ]

Help me? You think I'm supposed to act grateful? Fall on my hands and knees and just sing your praises?

[ He's kind of pissed. His fist clenches, sparking just a little. ]

I never asked for your help. Why would I need it? I've been fine all on my own for years. No one was around then and I don't need anyone now.

[lightblooming]

I'm not asking for you gratitude.

[ Aqua's gaze hardens, reptilian blue-colored eyes locking onto golden-colored ones. ]

But, I didn't ask you to criticize me or my Master in response, either.

[darkcharge]

Dense as always, aren't you? Because I have to be purposefully taking a shot at you and yours, right.

[ He had been trying to make a point. An analogy. Metaphor. Whatever... ]

Not spelling it out for you again.

[lightblooming]

... [ She sighs, relaxing some. ]

I understand that it's not going to be easy, but you don't have to do it alone.

[darkcharge]

Maybe I prefer being alone.

[ No one can backstab you that way that's fore sure. ]

It may be difficult to do alone.

I've managed before just fine.

[lightblooming]

... I realize that we aren't friends, Vanitas. But, if you change your mind - the offer is there.

[ Huh? ]

And what offer would that be?

To help you, if you don't want to do this alone.

[ He'll probably mock her for her offer. ]

[ Maybe not exactly mocking... ]

Easy for you and yours to say.

I don't say the words lightly.

I realize this, Aqua. However the way you say it makes it seem like I should be able to just immediately forget everything and jump into your open, waiting arms.

And that isn't realistic at all.
