It surprises me that you haven't.

[Younger than himself, but- capable enough. But- if he's only felt negative emotions, all his life…]

That doesn't seem right. I wonder…. Do you like song?
wordsinthesoul: (out and about)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2019-12-30 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Song's known to be good for the spirits, so- do you know any?
wordsinthesoul: (patience)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2019-12-31 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Not particularly. But song is hardly restricted to those individuals.

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-01 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
…You mean, there are no bards? No carollers at Starlight? What of shanties?

[Surely anyone could raise their voice in song.]
wordsinthesoul: (out and about)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-03 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
None of it? At all? That's… most unexpected. I fear I could not imagine a land without song, nor poetry…. Would you care to learn?
wordsinthesoul: (out and about)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-05 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Would you care for an explanation, then?

The point? Music can lift the spirits, and bring people together. It's a way of keeping stories alive, as well.
wordsinthesoul: (maybe it's nothing)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-07 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Where should I start, then? With bards?

Ah, well, that's simple enough. To perform a piece together, the performers must listen to each other and work together to create that music. The experience itself can be enjoyable- and listening seems to bring people together just as much.
wordsinthesoul: (maybe it's nothing)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-08 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
You might just be surprised. There are plenty of songs about love, naturally, but then there are work songs- of which shanties form a part, song for any number of occasions and rituals, ballads, and lullabies.

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-10 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
That's part of it, but not necessarily all. Some are more of a narrative, some to keep tedium at bay, and keep everyone in tune.
wordsinthesoul: (here's one I prepared earlier)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-14 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
It's a little like this…

[He starts clapping out a rhythm, lightly to start, and slowly building up before he begins a song in full- now comes a sailor from the sea- continuing on into the chorus.]
wordsinthesoul: (here's one I prepared earlier)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-01-20 11:39 am (UTC)(link)
[He keeps up the rhythm, but he's watching Vanitas. After a few more moments, he speaks- foot tapping.] Would you like to join in?
wordsinthesoul: (Default)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-02-02 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
To sing along with me.
wordsinthesoul: (conversational)

[personal profile] wordsinthesoul 2020-02-03 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[I played KH2 so it's fine, haha >>;;]

No…? Well, if you ever decide you would like to, you can always contact me. Perhaps- would there be something else you were interested in, then?
