[Stillness without rigidity is a good sign, to the turnskin's mind. They're both curious about each other, cautious but curious. That's enough to start with, even if his sniffing and whines haven't adequately conveyed what he wants.

Unfortunately for him, the notion that the Flood is empathic or telepathic? It's just not going to cross his mind.

Instead, Papyrus becomes more settled on his plan - take part of the food. He focuses on being friendly, ears perking a little bit up, and his tail begins to slowly wag behind him with anticipation. When he thinks the Flood is convinced - whether or not it's responding in any positive way - he leaps near them, hoping to startle them into dropping the food so he can grab part of it and dart a little ways away.]
