[ For a moment Vanitas stares at her, as if he isn't sure what he is hearing.

Then he just starts to lose it. Laughing. ]

[ Aqua looks taken aback at that, her brows furrowing. ]

I don't understand what's so funny.

[darkcharge]

What's not funny about this? They got their little happy ending together. Master Xehanort... The guy that staged this entire thing. He gets to just disappear in little flickers of Light!

It's so stupidly ironic I can't stand it.

[lightblooming]

[ Aqua's expression grows grim. ]

I don't think so. ... Xehanort worked his entire life to reach a goal, only to be stopped.

[darkcharge]

That's not really the point. He was stopped, sure. But yet he was still embraced by the Light.

[lightblooming]

... Vanitas. He made his choice. It's one that was offered to you, too.

[darkcharge]

And what good would that have done, Aqua? How would anything have changed? I'd still be broken. I'd have no purpose, no meaning.

Ventus didn't actually want me to drop what I was doing. If he had then it wouldn't have been a "well okay" from him.

[lightblooming]

You're here in this world now. Isn't this your chance to change things?

[darkcharge]

None of those things are about to change just because I'm here.

[lightblooming]

You can find a purpose - a meaning. Maybe that's what this world meant by sending you here.

[darkcharge]

Is that right... And just where would you suggest that I go to find such "purpose?"

[lightblooming]

That isn't up to me.

[darkcharge]

That's not much help at all.

[ ... Is Vanitas trusting in her advice? ]

Vanitas, finding a purpose isn't something I can help you with. It has to be something you figure out on your own.

[darkcharge]

I don't know how to do that.

[ Or even where to start. ]

[lightblooming]

... Well, you're learning how to use magic, aren't you? Maybe you can start there.

[darkcharge]

And magic will help me find meaning...?

[ Doesn't sound right to him. ]

[lightblooming]

... No. You have to find that on your own.

But... I think that you may be able to find it in this world - through what you can choose to learn.

[darkcharge]

Ah huh...

[ He still seems pretty unconvinced. How is learning magic, or rather what he chooses to learn in regards to magic, going to really do for him? ]

Somehow I don't think it is all as simple as that.

[lightblooming]

It won't be.

... But, the fact that you can do this without Xehanort's influence is already a big step forward.

[darkcharge]

Just like you can make your own choices without your master, right?

[lightblooming]

This isn't about me.

Same principle, Aqua.

[ Because think how hard it was - and still is at times - to pull away from the man's teachings. The man that had raised her. Taught her everything she had known?

Words are just words. They're easy to say but lack. ]

I know what I want to do beyond what he taught me. It's different.
