[ven had been sent out by aqua to pick up a few things from the market - bread, some apples, eggs, and butter - and now he was heading back to their home. the changing weather didn't seem to bother him as much as it did others. the cold actually felt pretty nice...

he's lost in his thoughts when something catches his eye and he stops to curiously look down and see... some strange, black creature at his feet. ven shifts the bag in his arms and tilts his head down at the flood.]

... Hello?

[ Vanitas, at the moment, isn't anywhere in sight. So really it's just Ventus and this Flood.

A Flood that looks at him. Twitching. It looks at the bag and then back to Ventus. Just what is the blonde doing with that? Does it need it? ]

[callmeven]

Are you lost?

[he catches the look aimed at his bag and a thought strikes him. shifting, ven reaches into the paper bag and pulls out a piece of the bread he was bringing back and holds it out for the flood.]

Do you want to try some?

[darkcharge]

[ It looks at the bread. Then at Ventus. Immediately the thing snatches it up right out of Ven's hand.

Then scurries a distance away. Maybe poking at the bread like it doesn't know what to do with it. ]

[he kind of expected that.

ven props his chin up, elbow resting on his knee as he watches the flood poke at the bread.]

You can eat it, you know. [to show this ven takes a piece for himself and pops it in his mouth.] See?

[darkcharge]

[ But Ventus it doesn't have a mouth

No, but really. The Flood kind of just... Smashes its face into it? Just a little? ]

[shhh

ven can't help but laugh a little at that, covering his mouth with his hand.]

I have more stuff you could try if you don't like the bread. [he holds out his hand, half hoping but not expecting the creature to come closer to him.]

[darkcharge]

[ It does set the bread aside. And maybe JUST maybe... Inches a bit closer? ]

ven stays very still, waiting patiently for the creature to come closer and even then he doesn't move when it does.]

I promise I won't hurt you.

[darkcharge]

[ Reeeeaching out. Reeeaching out.

The Flood pokes what Ven has to offer... Then backs up a couple of steps. Testing the waters much? ]

[ven doesn't react when the flood pokes at him, shifting his stance a little as he watches the flood twitch curiously.]

I wonder if you have a name...

[darkcharge]

[ Ventus don't you dare. Don't you dare name this creature of negative emotions. It ain't right.

But for now it's going to snatch up that treat and attempt to nibble ( or whatever it can do ) on it. Not quite with Ven, but not at a great distance away either. ]

[too late he's already thinking of names.

ven laughs softly as he watches the creature play with the treat.]

You know, if you don't have a home you can always come back with me... I might have to hide you from Aqua though.

[ Hahaha. Yeah that wouldn't end well at all Ventus. The Flood just looks at Ven. Then it sees fit to dart up and on Ven's shoulders. ]
