[After the ruckus that Sora had caused for several people last month Sora is more than happy to have things return to a normal everyday routine. As normal as this city can really be, that is. With witches and monsters living their daily lives here one can never know how things will turn out.

Sora is out and about one afternoon when he steps into a store after a bit of curious wandering. Little does he know that this shop is the one and only Karen's Patisserie. The smell of freshly baked bread and sweets is a little too hard to pass up. So, he peeks inside and follows his sensitive nose to the smell of sweetly baked goods. Maybe he could pick up some things for the people that helped him last month. Or maybe he can bring some treats with him for his job later at the new Orphanage just streets from here.]

Wow, this place has a lot to pick from. It smells great in here.

[Greet him! He’s ready to shop! And yet the pink and frilly sight that he sees is...]

[The frilly sight he sees is none other than Lightning!

Greeting people at the door has become a monotonous task by the time Sora strolls in for his first visit, so she hasn't registered that it's him when her cold voice comes out from beside him while she stuffs a flyer in his face.]

Welcome to Karen's Patisserie, where your delicate pastry heart will—

[She stops when she sees the ears and the messy brown hair poking out from behind the flyer, and when she lowers it, Lightning looks as if she's just seen a ghost. A naked ghost, because her skin pales before it turns a bright shade of pink to match her hair and the apron.

Well, slap her in the face with Etro's tits.]

Damn it. Not again.

[... It's Lightning!

Sora makes a muffled noise the moment the flyer hits him square in the face and when it's lowered Sora's face sort of just freezes in place. He stares at her, mouth a little agape as he says nothing.]

[So this is where Lightning got the pink frilly apron from? This bakery? His brain finally catches up with him! Say something, Sora!]

Lightning! W-whoa! You're- Wow!

[Beautiful speech.]

[Why are the only customers who visit the store people that she knows!?

In her head, she's completely overexaggerating it, but that's what this is starting to feel like. And of all the days when Karen's got her working front, it happens again! This time, Sora... who is probably one of the few she wouldn't have minded coming by, all things considered, but still.

She tucks the flyer away before he can do anything with it.]

Don't.

[Don't say anything more. Don't ruin what you have with her, Sora! You're doing fine so far.]

What are you doing here?

[Surely, it's not to buy PASTRIES, right? Because who the hell comes to a patisserie for that?]

[Luckily Sora seems to have enough sense and knows enough about her to quickly pick his jaw up off the floor and smarten up !! He doesn't say anything more about it but don't mind the way he occasionally looks away and back at her with a tiny shy smile on his lips.]

Uh- Right! I'm here for... Shopping! [WHO KNEW] There's a lot of great smelling pastries in here. What's the best to get?

[Does he get to hear her customer service? Sora's kind of curious and excited to hear it...!]

Erm. I wanted to get some thank you treats.

closed to Vanitas & Lavi

[Since returning home safe and sound Sora has noticed that his bondmate has been particularly frazzled since then. On edge and nippy more than usual and Sora knows that it’s because of Sora’s predicaments lately. He had promised Vanitas that he would try to get into less trouble, stop giving him a reason to worry so much and yet--! He had gotten roughed up by a bunch of lowly thugs. And Vanitas and Mira both had to do some rather drastic things to get him out of that pinch.

Sora wonders what might make Vanitas feel a little more at ease after all that. The trickle of frazzled emotions is strong over their bond and as much as Sora is trying to stabilize it himself with his own reassuring feelings maybe Vanitas needs more than just Sora right now. So Sora contacts a friend and one that shares a bondmate with Sora. Lavi.

Once he manages to convince Lavi to come over to where Vanitas stays Sora practically kicks open the door when the redhead arrives. Tonight is about spending time together! Nothing like a bit of friendship spending to mend frazzled hearts! And there’s nothing Vanitas can do about it! Friendship!]

Lavi! Get in here! Come in!

[It was easy to sense Vanitas being kind of on the edge. Considering that it might be related to Sora, there's no surprise there honestly. He initially keeps his distance, unsure of how to actually help with calming Vanitas down and he has Sora with him anyway, so maybe it'll just wear off in time?

Except that Vanitas' frazzling emotions keeps prickling at Lavi and it's kind of hard to ignore.

Which is why when Sora called him, he didn't hesitate to come over.

Lavi raises a brow at Sora practically kicking the door down, but he walks in anyway.]

[ Of course he is kind of frazzled still. At the end of the month his Bondmate ( and more ) had been taken by people with ill intentions. Then he had been taken away by Aqua ( even if she hadn't been able to control that ) right when the bond had started to come back in full force. A lot of it is that those had been such strong emotions and Vanitas doesn't know how to come down off of them. It's not like he has a plethora of experience in dealing with these things. For Vanitas it's all a learning process.

Which is why he's kind of taken by surprise having both Lavi and Sora suddenly here. ]

[Sora shoots a smile at Vanitas from over his shoulder and then waves a hand dramatically at Lavi.]

It's called A Lavi! [har har] I figured it's about time the three of us hang out.

Sora tells me you've been missing my company.

[He teases.

Not that that's why he's really here. But he can't pass up on the chance to tease Vanitas a little.]

[Sora has a few natural talents under his belt. He’s good at swordplay, magic (when it was applicable!), cooking and baking to an extent and his own self-proclaimed music skills. But there is one little talent that Sora is great with that does not come out that often. And that is his ability to make children laugh and to take care of them with ease. He’s great with kids.

And that’s why he’s more than happy to take on the quest to help out with some of the new children at the orphanage. They are children that have been sent here since Dorchacht’s revolution. Ones that don’t have permanent homes now because of the entire event. A lot of them are downtrodden or quiet so it might be a bit of a challenge to help cheer them up. But Sora is up for it.

He looks over his shoulder to see who it is that is working with him today. And when he sees a young blond girl his smile lights up.]

Hey-! Rikku! It’s you!

[Gosh, they have a lot to catch up on, don’t they!]

[Despite her homeland's insistence on growing up quickly, Rikku is still very much a child herself in many ways. One way this is true is her affinity with other children, borne from practice in the Al Bhed 'it takes a village' method of childrearing and a desire to have a large family of her own someday.

Therefore, volunteering at the newly-not-terrible orphanage in the Harbor is a no-brainer. These kids have been through a lot, but the challenge doesn't really faze her. In all honestly, it doesn't even really register as a challenge. In Spira, 'having been through a lot' is considered normal.

As Rikku starts settling in for her day, she hears a familiar voice greet her and looks up to see a familiar face. She grins back at him, happy and relieved. She had heard he had been saved despite her aborted attempt to prevent his kidnapping in the first place, but seeing him is another story.]

Sora! It's been awhile--how are you doing?

[Hope you don't mind being hugged, Sora!]

[A hug?! He won't mind something like that at all! He lets out a puff of laughter and his long rabbit ears swivel as she does so and he happily gives her a friendly hug back. A good squeeze!]

I'm doing way better now!

[He knows that last month he worried a lot of friends. So it's hard to know that he's got a lot to make up for. And Rikku has been a fast friend too.]

Last month I run into a bunch of trouble... But you know what? Lightning was able to help me out.

[He lets her go and then smiles warmly.]

So now I'm just trying to stay out of trouble and help out around here. How are you doing?

[It occurs to Rikku that there's no way for Sora to have known that she's already aware of the exact trouble he's gotten into--nevermind her own failed attempt to prevent it. A pang of guilt hits her, although it's eased a bit by the fact that he's here, hale and whole.]

I'm just glad you're okay. You had a lot of people really worried!

[After a pause, she smiles, jabs him with her elbow, and adds:]

Which is a good thing--means we care about you!

Meanwhile, I'm hanging in there. Learning about how magic works here and staying busy in my free time. I heard this place needed volunteers, so here I am!

[After the whole ordeal last month it takes some time for things to settle over. Vanitas is left still fairly frazzled about all the things that happened. And Sora feels quite bad for it. But he’s thankful too. It seems like Mira has saved his butt on more than one occasion now and she’s racking up quite the score. Sora wishes he could do something more for her even if it’s a small thing.

He stops by the house that day (although sora is here so much is it really a surprise that he is here?) and peeks his head in looking for the dark knight with a smile on.]

Mira? How are you?

[Congrats Sora, you actually do catch her at the house for once. She's looking into some paperwork that the publishing house sent her about how they wanted to go through with releasing the first Alpha story and looks up when addressed.]

Oh, hello there Sora. I am doing fine. Not sure where Vanitas is but I'm sure he'll be happy to see you.

[Yes, she does believe he's here for her son. That's pretty much a given.]

[Sora grins. It's true that Sora is usually here to see Vanitas. But today is a little different again!]

I think he's out studying right now, actually!

[He comes in and reveals a little basket of freshly baked bread.]

I thought you might want a snack!

[She stops and looks on with surprise. Did he just come here for that?]

O-Oh, that is rather sweet of you to think of me like that. I suppose there can be no harm in a snack.

closed to Kor Meteor

[Something was up with his former bondmate last month. He hadn’t seen him all that much after they decided they needed to break their bond and then Sora got caught up with some trouble and didn’t hear from Kor much after that.

He’s still a bit worried that something might’ve happened. And when he’s worried for a friend Sora simply goes to check on that friend so here he is at Kor’s door banging on it dramatically.]

Kor! It’s me! Open up! I got food, are you okay in there?!

[With everything going on last month, Kor didn't get to see much of Sora. He didn't hear from him after a while, which was worrying to Kor, but it was the least of his worries after the injury he sustained.

Even so, hearing Sora's voice outside his door catches his attention, causing him to sit up on the couch that had become his new bed.]

Sora? Ow... [He winces a little, his wounds still not mended properly yet.] Hey, the door's open, come on in!

[Sora helps himself to the door and peeks his head inside.]

Kor?

[When he enters and sees his friend couch-ridden his eyes go wide with surprise. Kor looks a little worse for wear!]

Whoa, are you doing okay? Did you trip or something?

[When Kor sees Sora walk in through the door like that, he instinctively attempts to reach him via bond, just like he has so many times in the past, just to feel his connection with his friend. There was almost a time when they were going to break their bond, but ultimately never went through with it. Things got kinda crazy for the two of them individually for a bit.

He looks up at Sora and gives him a wry smile. "Okay" wasn't the word he'd use.]

Uhh, something like that.

[He was bandaged up in a couple places, noticeably with a large wrap on his chest.]

I was helping a friend who was going feral.

closed to Yuma Ilvern

[After the troubles that the city had with he red death plague and the problems with the ancient moss it is not too surprising that there are a lot of restoration efforts to some of the areas outside and underneath the city. The quest at hand is to take care of the cwyld-infected creatures threatening to damage the work the coven witches are doing down here with their leylines. So monsters and strong fighters alike are recruited for it.

Sora is more than happy to get back to work after a month of not doing enough in his own opinion. He has his keyblade with him and a pack filled with some rations and healing items and scrolls for later if needed. He’s checking over his wrist device when he looks up to see someone at the entrance to the tunnel that he hasn’t seen in some time now.]

... Yuma! Yuma, is that you? Hi!

[Are they working together to clear out this tunnel today? Great!]

[ Yuma is still nursing his wounds from the previous month's escapade, and while they may not be serious, they do mean he won't be flying for a while. One of his wings is bound up in a cloth brace to keep him from accidentally straining it, and it's still looking a little ruffled. It's beyond uncomfortable for a harpy, who would rather be in the sky or at least perched in a high place, to be grounded for such a long time. Still, he'd better not push himself if he wants to take to the skies again sooner rather than later. But the world won't stop turning, either; he still needs to work and earn his keep.

And it figures he'd find himself underground. Words can't describe how uncomfortable he is with this, but work is work. Luckily, though, there's a familiar face waiting for him. ]

Sora?

[ Yuma stiffens a little - he's still guilty about that incident near the harbor - but he's quick to relax. As bad as he still feels, Sora doesn't seem to harbor much of a grudge. Of course, Yuma's still a little twitchy either way; a beast of the sky doesn't belong underground, after all. ]

Y-You're working down here too, huh?

[oathkeeper]

[The state that the harpy is in is a bit shocking! His smile falters just a bit as he sees those wrapped up wings and the tired look on Yuma's face. Sora can't say he had a great last few months either but he can't imagine what it must be like to have those wings bound up like that.]

Yeah- Uh, I am! ... Are you okay?

[Sora frowns softly and comes up to greet Yuma properly. Of course, he doesn't have any bad feelings about what happened with them before. Sora's face is just soft with his concern for the harpy boy. Is he going to be okay to work down here with Sora?]
