[Congrats Sora, you actually do catch her at the house for once. She's looking into some paperwork that the publishing house sent her about how they wanted to go through with releasing the first Alpha story and looks up when addressed.]

Oh, hello there Sora. I am doing fine. Not sure where Vanitas is but I'm sure he'll be happy to see you.

[Yes, she does believe he's here for her son. That's pretty much a given.]

[Sora grins. It's true that Sora is usually here to see Vanitas. But today is a little different again!]

I think he's out studying right now, actually!

[He comes in and reveals a little basket of freshly baked bread.]

I thought you might want a snack!

[inlikethebrume]

[She stops and looks on with surprise. Did he just come here for that?]

O-Oh, that is rather sweet of you to think of me like that. I suppose there can be no harm in a snack.

[oathkeeper]

No harm at all!

[He places the basket of freshly baked goods on the table.]

It's sort of a thanks for helping me out last month too. I know that was... uh, a lot.

[Dangerous and ... murder-y.]

[She grows a bit quiet at the mention of what happened with the poachers. But her features turn soft as she gives Sora a hair ruffle.]

You're someone important: To me and my son both. How could I not go after you?

[Someone might feel a little bit of pride through the Bond upon that.]

[A small appreciative blush appears over his cheeks and nose when she ruffles his ears. His long rabbit ears twitch happily.]

I'm really grateful. But at the same time I'm really sorry it happened in the first place.

[Sora is used to getting into trouble but for the most part it's always Sora getting himself out of trouble too. He really didn't mean to drag others into it but he knows how Vanitas feels.

There's one more thing Sora has to note here,]

You really think of him like a son, Mira?

Don't apologize for what was out of your control.

[People don't ask to be kidnapped...unless it's some fucked up plot to more.]

I do. We've called each other family before and at first, the son line seemed like a playful joke one has told me before. But more and more, he's become that way to me. If he was not here...

[She would have been lost in her sadness. No one else really has kept her steady like he did, like he does now. The only one in this entire world who has said that she is important to someone as herself. Not as the Warrior of Light, not as a former Amaurotine, just...her.]

Vanitas is important to me as well.

[At first, Sora nods. He is trying very hard not to apologize for something that was out of his control but it's just in his nature to think he should. Thus why Sora's brought a thank you gift of freshly baked goods.

But then he looks up to smile at her, feeling a special flourish of warmth in his heart. It's important for Sora to hear about who is important to Vanitas and vice versa. The fact that they've come to care for each other this much makes him absolutely overjoyed.

So much that Sora lets out a small sob as a tears sting his eyes a bit.]

I'm- [Sorry, he's trying not to be a crybaby about this! He quickly rubs at his eyes!] I'm really happy to hear that!

[Even though he says he is happy, Mira cannot help but feel worried.]

Please Sora, there's no need for tears. You truly care about him, don't you?

[oathkeeper]

I- Yeah! I do! A lot! Sorry, it's just...

[He's sniffling and trying to hold it back. He quickly rubs at his eyes and gives Mira a soft and relieved smile. There are just so many factors about this that are important that Sora doesn't know where to start.]

This place has done so much for him. And you've done so much for him. Back home, it was hard to see all the things he went through. But here?

[He doesn't know if Mira knows this but the last time Sora saw Vanitas in their homeworld Vanitas wanted to die. But now look what Vanitas has now. Someone who calls him family.]

I'm just so happy for him.

I haven't done much except be there when he needed it the most. Just like how he has been for me.

[She doesn't think she's done much for him but Mira still cares about the boy. She'd stand with him because of their experiences, their struggles and triumphs.]

But I am glad he's gotten good things while here. And that he has you as well.

It might not seem like much to you but it really is special to him. I know it.

[Vanitas was alone for so so long. So to have someone who wants to be there for him must mean mountains. Sora knows this too. It makes him blush slightly.]

Is it weird that sometimes I wish we could just stay here? I wanna be there for him as much as I can too.

[Of course they would want to stay in a place that has been good to them. It's normal. But then there's her who realized that if she left this world, she wouldn't miss it. Miss the people but not the world.]

No, if it makes you happy then it is not weird.

[But honestly, if it were her...she would find a way to take them with her.]

[Sora's smile is soft and a little sad.

He knows that they should all go home someday. That this world really isn't their home. The people they've gotten close with are. But if Sora could pick he would just try to be where Vanitas is. And this world might be the best one for him. Eorzea would be a sight to see, though...]

I'm happy he's got both of us, then. [His smile perks up.] For now, that's okay!
