I. RUNE(TCH A SKETCH)
[ Honestly, Izuku just keeps picking jobs that will allow him to get some magical hands-on training...and runes? Runes are so far his favorite thing, ever. He's not so great at making things (although he can design things, somewhat) but adding runes to already made things is like...well, it's almost easy. He's always been good at memorization, and he carries a pen with him everywhere anyway...II. POTENT POTIONS
It's just a matter of creatively applying runes to things now, right? He has the steady hands and teh ability to draw straight lines, and he can throw spells into scrolls as long as he's taught the spells to load up. He does his work cheerfully and without complaint, and then...
Well. He makes enough money to buy a small mountian of (to put it nicely) absolute junk. Old bracelets, rusted rings, scraps of nails and really ugly brooches...just things that could be held or kept close, along with borrowed work tools to actually etch runes in place...He sets up outside the house that he shares with several others, legs crossed as he sits out on the porch in easy view of the street, fingers flickering with green light as he works, squinting at the latest piece of Absolute Garbage to get his magic touch...
He's easily interrupted if you're curious, or maybe he looks up and waves you over? ]
[ Being drawn into festival preparations was kind of inevitable. Izuku is bad at saying no to requests to help and furthermore he likes to help with set up...and given his new apothecary in progress training, helping to make potions seems like an easy one!III. MIRROR, MIRROR
Unfortunately, luck is just like...rarely on his side. It's his job as a manga protagonist to run into improbable mishaps every so often, and in this case it happens to be spilling some of the potions he's just finished and is delivering to the appropriate booth on you. Maybe you took a corner faster than you should have? Or he got knocked into from behind and then into you...
Either way, these are love potions. So, depending on how much or how many you got on you, your character may or may not fall in love with anyone in the vicinity, including but certainly not limited to Izuku - or maybe it's just warm fuzzy friendship feelings for a few drops? ]
Oh no. [ EITHER WAY THERE GOES SEVERAL HOURS OF WORK...he looks crestfallen. ]
[ He's also experimenting with mirror magic, for some reason. Find Izuku in the residential quarters (still in the garden outside his house, or on the porch) playing with some hand mirrors, trying different incantations and sort of peering into them.WILDCARD
He frowns every so often, so whatever he's trying to do maybe isn't going too well? ]
[ I'm open to any quests this month, and will also write unique starters for other quests or specific people if asked! I'll probably throw any other threads I need to do on this post as well. ]

@bombingking
Signs of being pricked or scraped include: skin irritation, red blotches, overwhelming fatigue, and fever. The poison usually runs its course in a few days, but one shouldn't sleep - you won't be able to wake up until your system works it out."
So. Katsuki wants to get out of the city, Izuku feels, and this felt like something that wasn't too bad as an option even if it maybe wasn't as adventure packed as either of them would want - but it would be a chance to explore, a chance to sort of maybe talk (let him live in eternal hope) and they probably wouldn't get too hurt from it or anything.
That's like...famous last words, though, because of course they run into something unpleasant or even Deku just trips and suddenly, he's gotten scratched by a thorn.
So that's...fine.
He looks more annoyed about it than he usually would, but he doesn't like...say anything for a second, just sort of wavers on his feet. ]
Kacchan? I think we need to take a break.
[ Before he falls over. ]

God, when he was getting stir crazy and Deku suggested a quest, this is not what he had in mind. The idea of being afraid of plants is so stupid he can't stand it. It's unpleasant and makes him grit his teeth.
Then Deku says something and he twists around and... shit, Deku looks bad. Like worse than he usually thinks Deku looks. He heard him trip earlier but didn't bother to look because that's just something that clumsy nerd does on a daily basis.]
Really, Deku? Some flowers getting to you that easy?
no subject
[ It's the sort of annoyed thought he'd think instead of say usually, but he's feeling a little dizzy, okay, and maybe he's been feeling a little...unsettled, lately. He's been using magic constantly, but he doesn't have a bond to cycle it out, and that's...
Apparently not great? ]
no subject
That said, this isn't usually something sets him off. Not something this minor.]
This was your damn idea. You coulda picked any other mission.
i miss my laptop
[ He's still definitely swaying on his feet, and might have to sit down hard soon? ]

@tryhard
(Note: The types of wildlife seen at night are the usual critters - foxes, owls, bats, raccoons, mice - as well as a rather large species of white and black spotted spider, normal-sized sugar gliders, and a single deer, but very big. These are all more likely to run than attack if startled/confronted.)"
Temporary bond notes: "which is done by the two characters simultaneously drinking a tasteless silver-colored liquid from the vial provided to them. This Bond will last up to a day and has the same effects as a real Bond, though lessened in strength and muted in feeling."
So. They've taken their potions, and the bond is...interesting. It's sort of easing a certain build-up he'd been feeling from not having a bond, which is nice. It makes it easier to focus on the task at hand, although Izuku feels faintly embarrassed at the ability to sort of sense a connection between them. ]
Okay, so...I don't mind taking the notes, if you want to keep an eye out, more?

[ Waver mumbles, looking around a little nervously. The bond had felt strange at first but not exactly new, similar to the feeling of being connected to a familiar of sorts. It's just that, in this equation, he's realizing he's the familiar and it makes him vaguely uncomfortable for no good reason he can actually articulate.
When doing the temporary bonding, he'd mostly been trying to test it out and see how it felt, knowing it wouldn't last too long. One thing had led to another though, and somehow-- Here they are, apparently.
He hadn't actually realized how close to the infected forest the research project would be. Drawn by the promise of decent pay, the words 'research' and 'notes,' Waver had gone along with it from the perspective of a mage and researcher himself. It's only now that it's occurring to him he's here as the muscle, of sorts. The concept is laughable, considering: he's shorter than his bonded Witch, skinny, and his Monster characteristics haven't even come in yet.
...but the offered pay is very good, and he's honestly still rather interested from an academic perspective too for the chance to study this magical corruption closer-up with mitigated risks. Assuming (hoping) that Izuku is decent at spellwork by now if any issues crop up. Waver's just going to hope they don't. ]
We're just supposed to record the wildlife, right? I don't want to go any further in.
no subject
[ He gestures at the forest, looking more than a little perturbed. ]
I do intend to study purification magic as hard as I can, but...
iii
Are you that annoyed with your reflection today?
[He knows that's probably not it, but. Come on. Mirror magic. He has to make the joke.]
I'm so sorry this is late, my vacation killed me
[ He sighs a little. ]
I was hoping that maybe if I got better at mirror magic...I'd be able to learn more about the mirrors that brought us here...?
no worries at all! <3
[Well, he feels kind of stupid now. With a blink, he huffs out a breath of acknowledgment.]
That's pretty clever. I can't think of a better way to do it, actually. [Maybe he could if he could Do Magic, but since he Can't . . . He purses his lips.] No luck, though, it seems. Is it difficult?
no subject
[ Which, supposedly, might help. ]
i
He doesn't make it very far. A ways through the neighborhood, he spots a head of green hair on the porch of a house, bent over in concentration. Akira's steps slow, and he watches for a moment as green magic sparks from fingers. ]
… Izuku-kun?
I'm so sorry this is late, my vacation killed me
What's up? I'm sorry, were you trying to speak to me...?
no worries!!
I was just wondering what you were up to. [ He casts a quick glance up at the house as a whole. ] And I didn't realize you lived here.
no subject
[ Oh no. He's Enthused. ]
I
He was already showing signs of his change, extra fur appearing on his arms and neck, nails elongating as the first sign that they would become claws, and his body shifting to a more ursine nature.
As they finished another round of runes and the end of work shift came up, he nodded to the younger man. ]
You did a good job. I wish I learned as fast.
I'm so sorry this is late, my vacation killed me
[ Well, and talent in memorization... ]
I've always been quick at memorizing kanji and stuff, too.
No worries! Welcome back!
[ Oliver had had to work hard to learn that, but he is glad, now. Maybe it will be another connection in this world. ]
I like the rune making and carving though. Even not being a witch, it is good, and I love working with my hands.
no subject
[ Monster you are...
Is that impolite to ask? Izuku suddenly looks a little flustered. ]
no subject
[ Oliver was doing all the research he could. He needed to know.
He smiled wryly and stripped off the glove he used to work from one hand, and revealed that it was growing a light covering of brown fur, and that the nails were a little longer, the hands a little more distorted toward s claw shape. ]
From what has been happening, the changes so far., I think it will be a bear type being.

fade works!
wildcard; research required - starting with the vial since iirc we chatted about that!
he had, in part, been interested in the temporary bond. he did need the money, but engaging in a bond was likely inevitable as a monster. he’d wanted to test run it once or twice, and have a decent excuse to do so, to prepare himself for the real affair. he feels ... uneasy, and that’s precisely why he needs practice. )
Mmm . . . I suppose this is as far as we can safely go unbonded. Shall forge our fleeting connection, then?
( he really do just talk like that, huh. )
no subject
I think so. I'd offer to go first, but...
[ Well, Rei has the vial, so. ]
no subject
( not that a single person alone can initiate a bond or anything, but... it’s the principle of the thing, to be courteous about such matters.
though some hesitation lingers even as he drinks his half of the vial, there settles rapt curiosity, also, to be moments from a human heart. he’d always wanted to understand the people around him better, and he’d always been so poor of it.
once he’s done, he offers the vial to izuku! )
You’re free to wipe the rim, if an indirect kiss bothers you; it won’t offend me.
( he doesn’t mean anything by it, other than not having better ways to mask his own uncertainty, however small, by just saying things. )
no subject
[ Although now if he doesn't wipe it does that mean being implicitly okay with that or not...
Okay, no. Don't get all overthink-y and panicked, Izuku. Just take a sip from the vial -
And wow, it's immediately a weird experience. It's not a "proper" bond, but there should be emotional transference, and that connection... ]
