IZUKU MIDORIYA QUESTLOG: Open.

I. RUNE(TCH A SKETCH)

[ Honestly, Izuku just keeps picking jobs that will allow him to get some magical hands-on training...and runes? Runes are so far his favorite thing, ever. He's not so great at making things (although he can design things, somewhat) but adding runes to already made things is like...well, it's almost easy. He's always been good at memorization, and he carries a pen with him everywhere anyway...

It's just a matter of creatively applying runes to things now, right? He has the steady hands and teh ability to draw straight lines, and he can throw spells into scrolls as long as he's taught the spells to load up. He does his work cheerfully and without complaint, and then...

Well. He makes enough money to buy a small mountian of (to put it nicely) absolute junk. Old bracelets, rusted rings, scraps of nails and really ugly brooches...just things that could be held or kept close, along with borrowed work tools to actually etch runes in place...He sets up outside the house that he shares with several others, legs crossed as he sits out on the porch in easy view of the street, fingers flickering with green light as he works, squinting at the latest piece of Absolute Garbage to get his magic touch...

He's easily interrupted if you're curious, or maybe he looks up and waves you over? ]

II. POTENT POTIONS

[ Being drawn into festival preparations was kind of inevitable. Izuku is bad at saying no to requests to help and furthermore he likes to help with set up...and given his new apothecary in progress training, helping to make potions seems like an easy one!

Unfortunately, luck is just like...rarely on his side. It's his job as a manga protagonist to run into improbable mishaps every so often, and in this case it happens to be spilling some of the potions he's just finished and is delivering to the appropriate booth on you. Maybe you took a corner faster than you should have? Or he got knocked into from behind and then into you...

Either way, these are love potions. So, depending on how much or how many you got on you, your character may or may not fall in love with anyone in the vicinity, including but certainly not limited to Izuku - or maybe it's just warm fuzzy friendship feelings for a few drops? ]

Oh no. [ EITHER WAY THERE GOES SEVERAL HOURS OF WORK...he looks crestfallen. ]

III. MIRROR, MIRROR

[ He's also experimenting with mirror magic, for some reason. Find Izuku in the residential quarters (still in the garden outside his house, or on the porch) playing with some hand mirrors, trying different incantations and sort of peering into them.

He frowns every so often, so whatever he's trying to do maybe isn't going too well? ]

[ I'm open to any quests this month, and will also write unique starters for other quests or specific people if asked! I'll probably throw any other threads I need to do on this post as well. ]

[ He apparently really do just talk like that...it's fine, though. Izuku has classmates who talk even more strangely still, so he doesn't even register it as out of the ordinary, instead waiting for Rei to drink from the vial and then hand it over. ]

I think so. I'd offer to go first, but...

[ Well, Rei has the vial, so. ]

Very well; I’d hate to start without consent.

( not that a single person alone can initiate a bond or anything, but... it’s the principle of the thing, to be courteous about such matters.

though some hesitation lingers even as he drinks his half of the vial, there settles rapt curiosity, also, to be moments from a human heart. he’d always wanted to understand the people around him better, and he’d always been so poor of it.

once he’s done, he offers the vial to izuku! )

You’re free to wipe the rim, if an indirect kiss bothers you; it won’t offend me.

( he doesn’t mean anything by it, other than not having better ways to mask his own uncertainty, however small, by just saying things. )

[ Although now if he doesn't wipe it does that mean being implicitly okay with that or not...

Okay, no. Don't get all overthink-y and panicked, Izuku. Just take a sip from the vial -

And wow, it's immediately a weird experience. It's not a "proper" bond, but there should be emotional transference, and that connection... ]

( he laughs lightly when izuku seems to pause at rei's teasing, but, fortunately, rei doesn't make things any weirder than they have to be . . . especially since this bond is here to make things weird enough for them.

and it is weird. he's never— really . . . felt connected to a person before; not to anyone, in any way. there's a strange sense of tentative curiosity prodding at the edge of their connection as rei regards izuku with new eyes, the uncertainty he felt just earlier briefly swallowed by interest. there are feelings here that aren't custom to him; are these izuku's . . . ?

he reaches out and ruffles izuku's hair. it's partly sort of giddy, and partly sort of hoping it might elicit some kind of feeling from him so he can feel it in return. )

My. Of all the things I've discovered in my long years alive, I've never quite experienced something like this. How are you faring, boy?

[ Izuku's felt connected to others, but not in terms of...this. Sharing emotions so outright, instead of just having to guess what people were thinking and feeling, or to ask...

It's a little strange, but Rei's emotions aren't overwhelmingly negative or anything so it's easy to stay afloat.

The hair ruffle gets something like warm approval, though - it always reminds him of All Might, and that always gets him to be pleased and happy. ]

I've never done anything like this, either! I mean - there are probably things back home that can cause it, but they've never happened to me...it's...different, I can tell some of these feelings aren't my own at all?

( oh...! warm! it piques a wave of curious fondness. he does like warm... and izuku's feelings seem... light? simple. not simplistic, but by far more buoyant than the brooding rei himself is prone to.

he supposes he understands what ritsu finds so addictive about sunlight, whereas rei had always admired those sorts of people from afar. and that is the faint undercurrent of rei's feelings: affectionate admiration, and wide-eyed caution, and creeping uncertainty— though not uncertainty toward izuku himself. )

I hope it's not a burden unto you; I've spent so much time with myself, I haven't the slightest clue how heavy my own thoughts can be.

( ah... withdraws his hand, a little belated. he'd gotten distracted. )

But I believe I can untangle still yours from mine. I envy the levity of your feelings . . . I often struggle to understand how others feel; how wondrous magic is, that it can draw any two hearts together.

I - well, I do get told I'm pretty optimistic, actually...

By virtue of my natural disposition, I can see as well in the dark as you likely do in the day. If you would handle the notes, I think I might do well enough with observation.

Then I don't mind handling the notes at all! Actually, taking notes is sort of a specialty anyway...
