( Repairs and Roofing )
[ Should anyone ask Vanitas about why he would bother repairing anything, he'll simply tell them to mind their own business. To be frank, the pay isn't too bad and it isn't like the work is overly difficult. He's not attempting to be particularly helpful or aid anyone so that their homes won't start leaking from damaged rooftops... It's something else entirely. Learning how to repair the rooftops of these homes is actually practical. This would be a skill that he can use in the future.
Thus Vanitas can be seen doing various tasks related to repairs throughout the entire month. Perhaps he is bringing shingles and other materials to the worksites with a levitation spell. Or maybe Vanitas is on a roof ripping the damaged parts off and tossing them aside ( look out below! ) before putting the new pieces into place.
Whatever the case, he seems rather fixated on doing the task at hand. ]
( Veggie Tales )
[ When he had heard the request, Vanitas had wondered how vegetables manage to get up and just leave the garden. Then again, this is a magical sort of place so maybe they literally did grow legs and just walk away. However, nothing had really prepared him for this? Right about now he's stuck in a bit of a situation! He's definitely holding onto a piece of cat-shaped broccoli while dog-shaped heads of lettuce runs around his feet excitedly. ]
Go on. Shoo! Go away!
[ Vanitas is even trying to kick at it a little in order to make them stop. Ironically the broccoli doesn't seem to mind the ruckus. It even bleps out a tongue. Van is now giving that thing a look. ]
This is stupid.
( Clean Up & Clear Out: 2 options )
[ Just throwing things out in the street isn't very nice. Granted, Vanitas doesn't particularly care one way or another, but something does rub him the wrong way. As he's wandering the streets, Vanitas is picking up items here and there from the piles. It's about that time that he realizes that not everything that's being thrown out needs to be. Some of the items aren't actually broken at all or just need minor repairs. These people are literally throwing out things that can still be of use. Now that just doesn't sit well with him at all. So what does Vanitas do? Out of spite he starts to repair some of the items and set them off to the side - only for other residents to take notice...
Though eventually he leaves this endeavor - when too many people start following him around or asking him to fix items with magic - to find large piles of unrepairable junk. Their blocking roads in part and entrances to homes. More than anything, it's a complete eyesore. So Vanitas doesn't see anything wrong with burning it all down in a controlled fashion! ]
( Prurient Petals: No Pollen Shenanigans )
Not letting this crap get me a second time.
[ At least that's the idea. Maybe he wouldn't have thought to come back out this way considered what had happened prior. However now it is a matter of pride. Vanitas is stubborn and he's not about to let a plan and its unique pollen get the better of him. Nope! He is going out there with protection this time around - primarily a cloth tied around his mouth. ]
Stupid flowers are going to get what's coming to them.
[ Which anyone can see with the way that he swings Void Gear around. He brings it down onto one of those stupidly thick roots protruding from the ground and begins to hack away. ]
( Other Locations )
[ Over all, Vanitas is not an overly idle person. One of the place that he can always be found is at the library studying up on various types of magic. He tends to take to practicing magic as well. Right now his primary focus as been on Divination and Illusions for this particular month.
Vanitas slips out of the city periodically to be out in the Wilde since there is always a need out there. He can always work out his anger and aggression out by patrolling around the settlements and getting rid of any infected creatures. Vanitas might be a Witch, but his physical prowess and brute strength is nothing to look down upon.
At the settlements, he lingers only for what he calls "practice." By "practice," Vanitas seems to tend to minor injuries of the people there or even any Mirrorbound that won't give him a hard time about it. This can be anything from cuts to burns to even some minor sprains. ]
( Anything Else! )
[ If nothing above seems to jive, but you want to do something with Vanitas either just post something and I'll roll with it or hit me up to plan something out. I'm pretty much down for anything! Just poke me on plurk or on Discord. ]

( said with a grin as lio swoops down to snatch the yipping faux-dog into his hands. it tries its best to escape, wriggling and waggling, but lio is just too strong. and as it decides to stop trying, the harpy looks down at it with one closed eye. )
You might look good after a bath. A cheese bath.
( mmm. tasty broccoli and cheese! and then he looks up at van. )
I meant you, by the way. Don't play with your future food.
no subject
Then he looks down at the vegetable in his hands. A cheese bath... Is that really a thing? ]
I'm not playing with anything...
no subject
( the dog is still cute though, and while lio could probably stand to add a few more vegetables to his diet, the last thing he wants to do is hurt the puppo? it's wagging what looks to be a floret that threatens to snap off, and he reaches back to make sure the tail doesn't become part of a crudité platter. )
Anyway. We have to bring them back, don't we?
( the brocco-dog bleps again. right at van. )
no subject
[ He's not being mean to them Lio! Van is trying to keep the dog creature and the cat creature apart. So they don't chase each other around. ]
So are you going to help or not?

Veggies Veggies Veggies
The only downside: his instincts as a rabbit isn't really making him pay attention to the whole of what's going on. rather, he's staring at the creatures as if they're prey and he's the hunter.
Some of the creatures might've let out distressed sounds after Lavi might've taken a bite or two out of them.]
no subject
All those years of being tired to Ventus have made him nothing less than an expert. So between feeling a slight urge to feed coming from Lavi and knowing that there are these things running loose...Vanitas just has this distinct feeling that this is not going to go well. Not at all. Thus he spends his time tracking down Lavi only to find him practically taking a bite out of some poor ( ironic as it is ) bok-choy bunny. ]
Are you for real right now.
no subject
Listen.
It was Vanitas' fault for bringing along a puca, of all things, to accompany him on this. Never mind that Lavi wanted to tag along in the first place.
There is some irony in a rabbit eating a rabbit though.
He looks up, teeth digging into the poor bok-choy bunny's ears.]

But then she sees her son and he's...burning things. Ok. This is new.]
...you know, breaking them down and then being used as kindling can work in favor. Winter's coming soon and there's folks who will be needing such things.
[Or so she thinks. Seriously, there's a lot of kindling that can be used.]
no subject
Even so... Where would I even begin to leave the piles? There's so much that it could still be a pain.
[ There's not really a public place for it all now is there? ]
no subject
[It's called reusing and recycling. A good thing to do but Mira doesn't get much of a chance to explain when a gentleman wearing a proper fine suit along with a servant comes by and throws some more 'junk' onto the flaming pile. And by junk, one of the items happens to be a nice looking small end table that could simply be given away. He tips his hat and strolls away from them but Mira simply...stares at his retreating back.]
...a question then. Suppose I were to return an item to its original owner, knowing that it has no major imperfections. Do you think they would mind it? Might be a little charred but I'm curious.
[Yes, she's pondering about throwing a flaming item at this idiot.]

Other - Library; lmk if this is okay, i can def change things up :>
So at the Coven's library, a good amount of the basic Illusion texts are sitting on a table in front of an overly serious-looking young man who appears to be deeply immersed—probably including a few books Vanitas wanted to look through himself. Kind of short-sighted of this guy to assume nobody else was going to need those any time soon...]
naw yer fine!
So Vanitas isn't going to just come up and ask for it. Nope. From where he is, he casts a levitation spell and that book is going to start to float towards his direction. ]
So stingy...
no subject
That—looks a lot like that puca he met, huh. But he clearly isn't a puca... interesting. What's more important right now, though, is that this guy can levitate books and he can't! Not only can he no longer use the magic he'd gotten used to, but all the opportunity to learn different, practical things is lost, too. This is just insult to injury.
He doesn't even care that he's losing a book. His griping is fully audible, thanks to the quiet nature of the library. He shuts the book with a frustrated fwump.]
Figures I can't learn anything useful.

[He's surprised to see a familiar face waiting for him when he heads for some healing, sporting a few scrapes and cuts, and a burn on his arm. His ears perk up in surprise.]

[repairs and roofing]
Hey! We need more of those up here! And some nails, I think!
[ooc: Full disclosure, I know nothing about roofing and am effectively winging it.]
i have no idea about roofing either. read an article real quick :' )
sometimes that is his Bondmate thank youso he does take notice. Honestly they do have the easier job of just getting the shingles on the rooftops. All of the prep work has been done by the professionals. ]Hold on, hold on.
[ One thing at a time! Vanitas does shoot up the shingles, though carefully. He has no desire to drop and potentially damage any. So up they go! ]
Nails will come in a minute.
winging it buddies!
Got them. Be careful sending up the nails.

Clean Up & Clear Out
Actually, that's still not entirely off the table, but for the moment she's distracted from her vengeful thoughts by the sight of a crowd gathering in a side street, drawing her over to see what's happening.
She's surprised to find Vanitas at the center of the growing crowd, a pile of repaired belongings scattered around him - and seemingly growing. She inches closer, her eyes wide, trying to see what's going on. ]

The problem is the amount. So when he starts to get tired, Vanitas stands and starts to make his escape. ]
Come on! Enough...

[ it's a cheery shout that interrupts his annoyance at the veggie-animals... nami, carrying a sack that's definitely wiggling as it's slung over her shoulder, waves at vanitas before catching up to him. ]
