Who: Soundwave and Saber
When: Beginning of Septeril
Where: Saber's residence
What: Talking, exchanging backstories
Warnings: Likely war discussion will come up. A crime against cuisine
[With their schedule clear, it was time to make true of the promise they made back during Lunasa celebration last month, both offered to share their long stories when they have the time. A bit of a bonding exercise, and it was an opportunity to learn more about the blond girl. It's early in the afternoon, they'll have plenty of time to discuss their stories. Given that he could still transform into his alt-mode, an armored vehicle of sort, it won't be long for him to reach Saber's place of residence after a small exchange over their watches.
The roar of an engine is alien for the locals but it was sure to perk anyone's attention, as he rolls over to his destination. It's fairly likely that Saber might be able to hear it too, the rumbling sound of an engine, getting closer and closer outside until it dies down. He'll leave himself parked outside the house, materialized his avatar instead as to better able to enjoy the drinks Saber will provide.
After making sure he's got the right house, he knocks upon the door and waits for her patiently, sending a message to Saber beforehand that he's arriving soon.]

[Too blinded by loyalty. Too focused on only achieving the goal. Only ever follow orders without question.]
The Great War happened- a war that lasted four million years and spanned across the galaxy between the Decepticon and Autobot, the goverment's security force turned into an army to oppose us. With the war started, it becomes less about the ideal and more us vs them. About crushing our enemy. [He doesn't feel a need to share any stories during the war, so he skips over all that. They both know war is terrible.] Fortunately, the war came to an end recently... Four years ago, in human years.
It ended with Megatron, leader and founder of the Decepticon, who disappeared for years, defecting to the opposing side and denounced his own faction, all without saying a word to us. Or to me, his only loyal soldier. [Needless to say, he was hurt by the news.]

What good is a leader who abandons those they led? He should have shared in your fate. Or at the very least provided that leadership to end the war with you all at his side, even if it meant surrender.
[ She's angry on his behalf. ]
no subject
He did not even try. He couldn't even be bothered to give the Decepticon the chance to change, decided we were a lost cause and were nothing more than the killers he turned us into. If he had only talked to me about wanting to change, I would have followed him. [Like he always did. He huffs, irritation getting increasingly visible on the avatar's face]... His denouncement only made me realize we were nothing but expendables to him, all he ever cared about is his own problems.
[He pauses.]
That said, I do not disagree with him. He was right. The Decepticon needed to change after what it had become. [And honestly, having to agree with his former leader's points makes him cranky.] Unlike him, however, I believe we are capable of change, and I won't abandon my comrades to do it... I took the responsibility to lead my lost comrades, become the new Decepticon leader. Ever since then, I have been working on turning the Decepticon back to its original roots- a pacifistic faction advocating for peace and equality.

[ She scoffs. ]
But I am glad you are attempting to find a better way forward for yourself. Or... were, in any case.
no subject
[This is the first he's ever brought up about his former leader to someone, and he's glad the first person he spoke to understands]
The Decepticon was my life purpose. I want them to flourish and have a better future, and to do that I try to better myself as a person, as well. [...] But now that I'm here that's the end of my purpose.
no subject
[ She isn't sure how much she wants to share, but... ]
But I've had people help me. All we can do is move forward. Find a new purpose and potentially consider picking things back up again should we ever return to our own homes.

[ She knows the feeling. Call her curious. ]
I've had similar thoughts. [ She admits this after a brief pause. ]
no subject
Before I arrived here via the mirror, I gave up my life. It was for the sake of saving the universe from a tyrant.
no subject
[ There's a long, long silence while she considers her now mostly-empty cup of tea. ]
Then building a life here... that's all you can do, isn't it?
no subject
That's correct. Whether I like it or not, this world is my new home and I have to build a life here.
[And the technology here isn't possible to venture out towards space. So, he's really stuck here.]
Frankly, I'm not sure how I should feel about being alive again. But I figured I should try to do something, build a new life... given this second chance.
no subject
[ She seems thoughtful. ]
I... am not an expert on such. But if I can help, I will.
no subject
Thank you, Saber.
[Speaking of help, though...]
There's something else I could use your help with, and I could only make this request to you, Saber. I thought about it when I was en route to your house. [There's just the slightest of hesitation, cheeks blushing a little, just by how gauche it is to ask Saber this.] Would you... be willing to Bond with me?
no subject
[ She seems a little surprised, blinking. ]
I would be perfectly happy to provide one if you're in need of assistance, honestly.
no subject
Thank you. I no longer think it is viable to cycle my magic with my familiar. So, I believe it is necessary for me to have a bond now, and, well... I trust you enough for it.
no subject
[ Saber does sound genuinely touched. ]
I understand this would be... mainly for convenience. And I already have one bond. You would be my second.
no subject
[He meant that as jest, but there's some truth, too.]
I'm curious... Might I ask who you're bonded with currently? [Maybe it's someone he knows? If not, it could be someone he could meet in the future.]
no subject
[ She runs a finger around the rim of her teacup. ]
A woman named Byleth. We first bonded out of necessity and a wish to assist one another. Since then we've remained friends.
no subject
[His eyebrows arch in immediate recognition of the name.]
I know Byleth. We came to this world in the same month, I believe, and now I am instructing her on firearm usage. [Acquinted, basically.]
no subject
[ Saber's lips curve in a little smile. ]
I'm glad to hear that you already know her. It may make this easier.
no subject
[There's the slightest of a smile tugging on his lips.]
Once we got the ceremony done, we all set and I no longer have to worry about my self being. I have to say this went smoothly than I imagined. [Of course it was entirely his own hang ups about it that had him imagining this "asking to a bond" scenario to be much more awkward than it is in reality.]
no subject
[ There's a flicker of a smile on her face. ]
I am always happy to help; one need only ask.
no subject
[Said in mild amusement.]
no subject
[ Completely serious about that. ]
no subject
It is a respectable trait. Admirable, even. Given my experiences with rulers in the past, I'll say you're the only one who's admirable, Saber.
