[ Zack tilts his head at that name. It almost sounds Wutaian, but Sephiroth would have specified if this person was from Gaia. That only brings up further questions.

That brand of magic isn't anything commonly used back home either, which explains why Sephiroth hadn't been entirely prepared for it. It's the mention of "fragile bones" that ultimately grabs Zack's attention, though.

He's not exactly subtle as he looks Sephiroth over, even though there'd be no way to assess the fragility of his bones just with a glance. Still, Zack doesn't see any difference in how Sephiroth walks or carries himself. If he's still harboring any sort of injury, he's hiding it well. ]

Huh. Sounds like that'd be a pain, yeah. You break something?

It was nothing.

[Part pride, part dismissal. Part truth — across the grand spectrum of injuries, it had been nothing, and nothing especially for a man with a biological framework much like Sephiroth’s. He remembers the bright flare of pain not because it had been debilitating, but because it had been unusual, an anomaly in his lifetime of near-perfect sparring matches, of skin unmarred by scars or bruises or even the slightest passing glances of a blade coming too close.]

A crack across the collarbone. [Because, you know, what's a little bit of a broken bone?] It was practically healed the next day. But it had been surprising at the time, even for me — keep that in mind, Zack, if you decide to take up arms against anyone here. Friendly or otherwise.

[ A broken collarbone is nothing to just brush off, but Sephiroth does just that. He insists it healed in record time, though Zack isn't sure if that's just because of his natural biology or if it has something to do with the harpy thing. It's good to know that he doesn't have to worry too much about him getting injured, but the very idea of having to worry over Sephiroth of all people is strange for a number of reasons.

Try as he might, Zack can't simply divorce himself from the connection that he has with Sephiroth, good or bad. He can't forget the moments of camaraderie they had before everything went sideways. And with Sephiroth now behaving like the man Zack remembers, it's too easy to fall back into old habits.

He still has a lot of ruminating he needs to do about all this. After a pause, he glances back to Sephiroth and nods. His words are well taken, at least. ]

Yeah, I will.

[ There's no graceful way to bow out of the conversation, so Zack stops in his tracks and turns toward Sephiroth, figuring it's easier to face it head-on. ]

Well, now you know I'm here. I'm sure we'll see each other around, but I think I'm gonna go look around the carnival a little more.

[ It's not like Sephiroth has much interest in that, right? Setting aside the fact that he'd come here in the first place. ]
