It's not exactly what she's used to from home, but still, very welcome.]
Work is certainly high on the list.
[She sighs, setting her glass back down after another sip.]
At least I know from my previous visit that being good with a sword will serve me well here. There's plenty of hunting to be done.

[The only people who can really benefit from that are the people who are good with either magic or a weapon. Everyone else just continues to live in fear of them, and what they can do. It's an odd tradeoff, but who is she to complain when it pays the bills?]
You ever need someone out there to help, let me know. I know my way around, so at least you won't get lost.
[As for having magic to offer to defeat them... that's another story.]

[She presses her lips together into a thin line, shaking her head.]
At least it's a way to make ourselves useful.
[It's not like they're looking to profit off of people's fear. Even if they aren't all that thrilled about being here, Karin is always at her best when she feels she's able to do something useful with herself. She likes to keep busy, and she nods in response to Lightning's offer, a faint smile tugging at one corner of her lips again.]
I would appreciate it— not only do you know your way around, but as another soldier, former or otherwise, I know I'd be in excellent company.
[She can trust Lightning at her back, she's certain.]

At least this time, she's getting paid good money to do it.]
Well. Here's to good company, I guess.
[She raises her bottle and throws back a sip, the bitter alcohol burning the back of her throat.]
wrapping!
Right. To good company.
[They can deal with the rest later. The drink itself burns pleasantly going down, and for all the things they have to worry about, right now she's more than happy to just take a short while to sit and enjoy a drink with the only person she knows she's able to call a friend in this place.]
