Who: Enkidu & Diarmuid - Enkidu & Edelgard When: The beginning of the month Where: The Wilde What: Showing the treehouse & doing a quest Warnings: none yet
[Edelgard smiles a cold, calculated smile as she sees the roots slip up to entangle the Shade. It is satisfying. Almost as satisfying as raising the axe.]
Get the child. I'll deal with the beast.
[And down Aymr comes, a brutal single stroke of the weapon that splinters bone and tears through flesh. The Shade barely has time to react, trying feebly to get an arm up to ward off the blow, to no avail.
A second strike follows, and then a third, just to be sure.]
[Enkidu dashes forward immediately. They can feel their body protesting a little bit but once they move it is gone. Quickly they grab the child by his waist and simply throws him over their shoulder.
When the child protests they barely respond, keeping their eyes on Edelgard hacking away at the Shade.
Perhaps it isn't so problematic to be a Beast instead of a Witch. If anything, they would pick such strength over all that magic.]
I think it is dead. I... [They stop speaking when the kid starts to whine loudly.] ...will you hush? Otherwise we might draw more of those creatures towards us. [Slowly they approach her.]
Let us head home as soon as possible... [A pause.] ...or are there certain parts of this Shade you want to take with you?
[After all, some things do sell on the more shadier parts of certain markets.]
But it will sell. After all...the fingers they chopped off my hand sold well on the black market.
[Still, is there time to dissect a body in the middle of the Wilde? The answer to that is probably 'nah'.]
Hmn...yes, let's go. [They hop towards her, still with the child flung over their shoulder.] I don't think I have the magical capability of handling more of these shades. [They're tired and it shows a little on their face.]

[She steps back, cleaning the blood from Aymr with a cloth that she discards.]
It's time we got this little one home, I think. Let us return.
