🌸Tea Time🌸

After all the fussing and effort put into decorating Sylvain's ballroom, Tataru and her "assistants" have transformed the area into one worthy of inviting princesses to high tea. Tables have been set up throughout the ballroom, flowers and other decorations adorning the tables and walls. Little Ladies are invited to sit where they please to be served while live music plays. When it comes to tasty treats and drinks (both alcoholic and not), there's a special menu to choose from, along with your standard high tea fair of scones, tea sandwiches, petit fours and of course, tea. Loyal Seneschals are at the beck and call of their Ladies, whether they're focused on one particular individual or a group.

Socializing is encouraged and if Ladies tire of sitting at the tables to snack and sip away at their tea, they're encouraged to relax and recline in the Tête-à-Tête sofas set up in another area of the room, either with another fellow Lady or a Seneschal who's willing to charm them or show off their listening skills. There is, of course, space free for those who wish to use the ballroom as it was intended to be - for dancing - and with the lively music filling the room why not take the opportunity to? It's all in good fun, after all.

🌸Lights! Camera! Action!🌸

Prompto finally has his camera working again and Tataru's decided it would be a great idea for him to participate as a photographer and get new clients for his photography business! One of the activities of Little Ladies' Day back in Eorzea is Ladies posing in front of backdrops that are set up around the city-states. To emulate this exciting experience, various backdrops have been set up outside in the yard for Little Ladies to have their photographs taken. The main attraction? A chocobo drawn carriage for that special princess aesthetic. Yeah...

There is also a dressing room area for Ladies to get dressed up or borrow a few donated outfits for the event (from local shops), if they were unable to get their own gear to wear, if they so wish to do so. The room itself that contains said outfits has been turned into a makeshift powder room with a mirror and vanity space for touch ups. Every Little Lady ought to look their best, after all.

🌸Adorable Adoption🌸

Hector has volunteered to bring a few well-behaved fuzzy friends along (cats and dogs) for Little Ladies to play with and pet. All the animals will be up for adoption, and would make good Familiars for Witches who might need one in their lives. His makeshift petting zoo is set up in a segregated area of the yard, to make sure no animals go missing. Everyone who is an animal lover is encouraged to play, pet and love on the animals that have been brought along. If you do wish to adopt one, you'll have to be up to Hector's standards however. They deserve to go to good homes, after all!

What does it mean to be a Loyal Seneschal or Little Lady?: The role of Seneschal is quite fluid; ultimately it hinges on making sure no Lady goes without a smile on their face during their special day. Whether that's through serving them, entertaining them, being a companion or maybe going home with them to help them do a few chores around their house...it's seriously up to you! Get creative! If you're a Little Lady all that means is that you're a woman and it's Your Day to be Appreciated. Own it. (And no, don't even think about trying to be a Seneschal if you're a Lady - Tataru will hunt you down.)
How will my character find out about the event?: If your character didn't see Tataru's post about it on the network for whatever reason, she's also been sticking flyers up around the city for it. Tataru's quite the busybody so if you need to come up with an excuse for your character/their business to get involved feel free to have them either have heard of it from local businesses that are participating in the festivities, the flyers or even Tataru herself if they have CR of some kind.

I want to play around with Little Ladies' Day after the tea event!: Go for it! Tataru's been working hard hustling local businesses and Mirrorbound alike to participate in the Eorzean tradition. Making a compelling case to incorporate it into Eostre's festivities, she's managed to arrange a few collaborations for the Ladies of Aefenglom to enjoy. Feel free to play around with local cafes or shops that may have special menus or deals on made in the spirit of the holiday. Also go wild when it comes to playing up your Little Lady and Loyal Seneschal roles. It's All Women Are Queens Day, after all.

[Or invented. It seemed that the mirrorbound were bringing all sorts to the table, completely by accident. Though Sokie didn't look like an inventor or intimidating; she looked like someone who was wrestled into place by a cat.

Or rather, flopped into place.]

Oh, drying? That's easy.

[She took the cup with a quiet thanks.]

You just need something called a hair dryer. Or...maybe a heater.

[Um, what Sokie looks like is adorable, with the cat snuggled up against her.]

You say 'easy', but what the hell is a hair dryer?

[He bumps a fluffy shoulder against her as he scoots in closer. Now she is being held captive by a kitten and a sheep.]

[How dare!!!! But...she actually does put her teacup down so she can bring up a hand and stroke her fingers over Hector's hair.

Guess she has two pets now.]

It's basically this hand held device that used electricity. It'd go through this flow of hot air-and later, cold-via coils inside of them and it's pushed out from the front in the direction you desire.

It might be a little difficult to reverse engineer, but I think it's possible. I'd have to ask the magitech experts.

[Hector tries to envision what Sokie is describing. Electricity is something Dracula's castle had, and the conduction of heat through metal makes sense, but consolidating the parts into a whole is tough.]

I was thinking there might be a spell, but a device would be even better. Then monsters wouldn't have to rely on a witch for it.

[He instinctively leans into the petting. People keep doing that, and it keeps being good. Still...]

The men are supposed to be serving the ladies today, not vise versa.

[Though he doubts petting Sokie would have quite the same effect.]

[It's like trying to picture a movie without ever seeing a theater. It's mine blogging.]

There could be a spell-a gentle, persistent wind spell and heat spell, combined. An evocatist could do it easily enough. But the device would be much better, and much easier to work with.

[Though hearing that, she huffed gently, with a smile.]

You are serving me silly. You're my therapy Hector. It's soothing.

[Petting Sokie would have a lot of smacking on her part. She doesn't like being petted, unless it's sexual and consented.]

[Not to mention that a device would be usable for monsters who have no witch, for bondless disasters like Hector.]

Your...therapy Hector...? [That's absolutely ridiculous and thank whatever gods may be that Hector isn't part cat, because he'd be purring.]

...'s what the cats are for... [He grumbles, flushing, though he's being so careful to keep himself still and soothing for Sokie to pet.]

Yesss, but now I have a Hector and a cat. All the better. I'm not likely to take home a cat, but a Hector...that'd be nice and cozy.

[Hector isn't up for adoption. Except that he really, really is.]

I, uh, do still need to take you up on your offer. Of teaching me about this world.

[That totally platonic offer, you remember.]

[She's already adopted him, let's not lie. She offered his ear a gentle tweak before going back to petting his hair.]

You do. I figured you needed some time to sort some things out before you came over.

[His own partially-sheepish ear twitches as Sokie touches it, and he shudders. It's...way more sensitive than it used to be, ok? He loses his train of thought, and just leans into the petting.]

I could come by this week, if you're free.

It's a modern day thing in my world, a niche thing. Don't worry about it darling.

[It's fine, she'll just...stroke it a little more, before slowly venturing back to his hair. He seems to be enjoying it so...why not.]

Sure. I should have some free time this week. Heck, it might help me with writing up the script for another show.

[Hector is driven by curiosity, and he'd be inclined to keep questioning, except Sokie rubs his ears again and the slate just goes blank. He hums in agreement. Sure, he won't worry, more petting please.]

Oh? Are you a playwright?

No, not currently. Instead, I offer advice over the radio and the Watches.

[More petting for the pet, naturally. The cat may have to compete for Sokie's lap before long.]

But I usually have a topic or a theme, as one would have when carrying on a discussion.

Like a lecture, but over the Watches? That's amazing. Everyone could listen, no matter where they are.

[Hector still finds the concept novel. He doesn't question why he's doing labor in exchange for Sokie's wisdom when apparently he could get it for free on his Mirror, because the thought doesn't occur to him.]

You think I could help? I suppose the things I don't know, other newcomers would also wonder.

People do call in and ask questions, but time is limited, and it's not as detailed as I could get, to protect everyone's privacy. But...some help would be nice.

[Don't mind her thumb rubbing the back of his ear, it's just there.]

[Bold of Sokie to think Hector has any intelligible thoughts in mind when she's touching his ears like that. But Hector tries, because he wants to please her.]

Ah, um, if you haven't already discussed it...h,how monsters and witches fit in here...how to recognize threats. Or, for s,something lighter...your ideas on those fur devices, perhaps.

[The anxieties Hector thinks might be universally applicable- the fear that society will suddenly turn on them and reject them, and fur maintenance. There's a reason Hector is not a radio host.]

[For a former hermit, he's such a people pleaser. Or at least a Sokie pleaser.]

Threats and helping with personal hygiene? Mm. It's not a terrible idea.

[She finally let go of his ear-if only so she could lean over and kiss it.]

Maybe we'll ease them into the idea. Hearing this is a dangerous place might scare them.

[Her voice lowered to a murmur.]

And we don't want to spook anyone, right?

[Being alone for so long, and then among unfeeling vampires, he's starved for attention, is the thing. Not that he realizes it consciously.]

You think so?

[Is it sad that 'not terrible' is enough praise to have the corners of his lips twitching into smile? The quick touch of lips to his ear tears a strangled gasp from his throat. Fuck, they're going to cause a scene if Sokie doesn't stop that.

He ducks his head.]

Um, right. No need to cause panic.

[Of course not. But she's happy to give him attention, since she thinks this is cute, and he's cute, so.]

Yeah. Needs a little tweaking, but not bad.

[She has to laugh though. Poor boy was so sensitive! She had no idea. She's going to torment him.

I shouldn't have kissed your ear, mm? Sorry. I thought I was being nice without being too aggressive about it.

[Fuck, she noticed, huh? He's not well-schooled in hiding his reactions, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that someone like Sokie could pinpoint his discomfort.]

Sorry. It's not usually so...sensitive. It's a, uh, recent development.

[Maybe once he's used to the changes, his ears won't be such a hot spot, but for now, they'll present so much opportunity for torment.]

D-do you get paid for your show, or do you do it purely as a hobby?

[Oh look, a subject change!]

[Poor Hector. She's a terrible tease. It's only that they're in public that she isn't making too big of a fuss over it.]

I thought so. I bet you'd still let me bite it gently, wouldn't you?

[She snickered quietly, letting her hand instead sweep over the back of his shoulders. Rude Sokie.]

Paid of course. I'm too valuable to do it for free.

N-not in public.

[Which isn't actually answering Sokie's question, but it probably tells her everything she needs to know about it. He's relieved when she turns her attention toward his back. That territory is mostly safe, unless she ventures down far enough to toy with his tail.]

Is someone patronizing it? The radio doesn't cost anything to listen to.

[If not, where is the money coming from? In his times, if performers didn't collect coin during their shows, they were usually paid by some patron of the arts.]

[Oh Hector, you're in trouble. But she knows about tails. So no tail teasing, because else he'd have to retreat for a few minutes and she can't follow with the white cat on her lap.]

What they do instead is they pay for time on the radio, called advertisements. So it's not just one patron. It's many, but they don't have to pay as much, and it doesn't cost as much.

[Hector is definitely in trouble. He shudders, but he's spent enough time around vampires to know he'll only make her want to toy with him more if he protests.]

So the patrons all share you. Huh. That's...an interesting concept. How often do you perform. I would...like to listen to it.

[Oh...what a nice little shiver. He's lucky they're in public, else he'd get teased mercilessly.

As it is she rubs his shoulder, squeezing it.]

Four times a week. Twice in the morning, twice in afternoon. You can listen to me...whenever you want.

But it will be far more fun, far more personal in privacy.
