Books, Books, and You Guessed It, More Books: Coven Library (OPEN)

[To some, doing research is far from relaxing. But in the case of the woman curled up in a chair in the corner of some far section, books are a relaxing matter. With the stress for the past couple of moons mostly gone, Mira can get back to work on researching and reading up on new schools of magic. While she does enjoy her alchemy and offensive magics, she needs to focus more on the school she has taken some smaller looks in but important for some: Illusions.

Now she isn't the type to like to hide herself but she can see the benefits for it. That and ponder how to combine this art with the other magics already learned. Mira likes a challenge and as long as she's not overworking her body, it should be fine. But she may have grabbed a few more books than expected. Did you need that book on Illusions? She may have it so it wouldn't be harmful to ask about it.]

What Is Shopping For Yourself?: Shopping District (OPEN)

[Shopping for Mira usually consists of getting either potion ingredients or food and sundries for the house. When it comes to herself, anything outside of the essentials is rather off limits for her. Blame her own upbringing but Mira didn't mind it. She didn't pay much attention to clothing and fashion; her idea of fashion is 'is it comfortable and if it is sturdy enough for more grueling activities.

She can't wear her armor everywhere after all.

But it's one store that Mira can't help but stop and look through the window, noticing the clothing inside. There's a variety between trousers and suits and even dresses and skirts. And they certainly look comfortable to walk around in...]

Wait, what am I doing? I shouldn't even think about it.

[Yeah, poor person guilt here. Hard to get rid of.]

If All Else Fails...Tea: DiplomaTea (OPEN)

[Libraries are not good for wanting to eat or drink since it may hurt the books. But thankfully, Mira remembers the shop where the Valentione's celebration was held and she was in the mood for some good tea. With her nose in a book, she is also going to be trying some teas.

And by trying, we mean order several different blends at once and the table having several cups. What? She's adventerous. Mild flavor? Crazy flavor? She's trying it. Don't question it...or maybe you should.]

Oh...what is this I'm tasting?

To Feel The Warmth Of Another: House Darkness (Closed to Housemates)

[Emotions have been tough to deal with lately. She gets that with the conversations between those she knows and the past events. But oddly enough, she gets an idea and honestly does not know where it will lead. However, they will notice the extra pillows and blankets somehow going missing if they need one.

But in reality, they're all in the living area as Mira is arranging them in some odd way with any tables or chairs pushed off to the side. Girl, what are you doing?]

Did you...?

[He's not entirely pleased about that. Not at Mira's actions, which are fine (apart from, perhaps, being shuffled around like a sack of meat), but that he'd been unaware of them. He'd look concerned if he didn't look tired.]

And have you warned anyone else about this idea?

[It was tough! You are heavy! But this makes it all the weirder.]

Aye, but I did try to wake you first.

[There might be a bit of concern in her tone. What exactly has he been doing to make himself so sleepy? But to the matter at hand, she gives a small chuckle but one of nervousness.]

'Twas more of a spur of the moment matter. Nary a bell before I had the idea considering mayhap we all needed to relax somehow.

[Mira's concern is noted, but ignored; Emet-Selch was beginning to get the uncomfortable feeling that his Bonds were draining him more than he'd expected, but he wasn't about to volunteer that information. Even if it were true- what could he do about it? Apart from sleep more, he supposed.]

And how do you intend to convince the others...? Not that I believe Irhya would mind curling down with the pair of us, [Possibly even in a different context than this, really.] but how will you go about luring Vanitas into your trap?

[The Ascian himself would've been somewhat dubious about all this if he hadn't already fallen asleep in the middle of it, but now that he was there, he didn't care to move.]

[She will still be concerned no matter what in all honesty. And if she hears it is bonds overdoing it...well, it's not a good thing for her.]

Whether in her usual form or while as a bat, it matters not to me. I would ask Vanitas as well but I am sure I can also carry him if needed.

[She'll carry their son, Mira will admit it.]

[That'll be a fun conversation eventually....]

I'd have some concern for one of us accidentally squashing Irhya, were she to assume her form as a bat.

[She was just so small.... But at the idea (and mental image) of Mira carrying a (likely squirming) Vanitas anywhere has Emet-Selch making a somewhat amused noise.]

And mayhaps you could drag him here... but how will you convince him to stay put?

[Indeed. Moreso considering she may believe that she'd be the reason for it.]

Only if she decides to opt for certain places. [She knows from experience that her sister from another mister can in fact cling onto areas. But that is if she goes in that form.] Or should we be concerned about her height in general?

[Sorry Irhya but compared to her and him, you are teeny. Small but able to cleave a man with ease.]

Do you mean about the easing of his mind when he learns of those he cares for are actively seeking a way to relax and rest? It might help. Besides, it seems like he needs it too.

[Mira no... you're his one witch, he needs your support for his bad decisions. Nevermind any turbulence.]

As her normal self she's small, yes, but sturdy. [Lingering tank defenses, perhaps.] I wouldn't be terribly concerned.

[How much could the bat cleave, is the question.]

Just don't start telling him he's caring about anyone, else he's like to simply scurry off instead.

[Thanks, now picturing a bat with a tiny greatsword and screeching to attack.]

You mean what I haven't already heard? I know of his message on the network and we did talk but I will try not to push it.

[It would be most imposing (to insects).]

Ah yes... he was quite obvious there, wasn't he? You seemed to have quite upset him.

'Twas not intentional I can assure you.

[Strangely, it got a little quiet on her end as she sinks to her knees.]

If it was not for his words and thoughts, I would have never seen a truth that was before my eyes. Or rather, been able to see for myself for what it was. But I am grateful for his kindness to me.

[Emet-Selch hums a little at that, watching her reaction. And with a sigh of great effort, shifts himself over to sit next to her.]

We spoke briefly on it... did it really come so much of a shock? Though I suppose 'tis easy to overlook the cruelties of those one is most close to, to the point of requiring an outsider's eyes to spot them.

He brought up a matter I had not discussed with him, possibly another Warrior mentioned it, but we were on the topic and I had just...told what happened.

[It's a lesson Mira had to learn and despite her dark knight status, she really is a bleeding heart at times. It's what makes the whole thing sting to her, not like a typical rage or anger. When he moves closer, she can't help but lean into him.]

Blinded by kindness it seems. I sometimes need another perspective to see a clearer picture.

Kindness, is it...? Or just not wanting to see.

[The Ascian half-shrugs, glancing sideways at Mira with his good eye when she leans against him.]

It's easy to absolve oneself of blame if you can claim you never saw their machinations coming. You simply ended up on the path they set, your sword pointed at whatever was deemed most threatening. And many of your friends do not strike me as the trustworthy type.

Two of them at least saw the Light within me and tried to help, including speaking up once they knew something was wrong.

[She recalls the looks on Ryne's and Y'shtola's faces and how worried they were, trying to rack up any sort of plan to help. But putting faith in one of their own and his secrets were folly in the end.]

Fray mentioned something of the sort long ago. Recall the comrade I had mentioned when I set upon the path of the dark knight? 'Twas them.

The considerations of a few doesn't absolve the sins of the rest.

[His point still stood, as far as he was concerned.]

But I don't believe I've met this Fray... though it sounds as though they were someone you could've benefited from listening a bit closer to.

[This is what happens when you keep passing the braincell off to someone who doesn't know what to do with it.]

Fray...was a enigma at first. We had met under the strangest of circumstances but they taught me what I needed to know about what dark knights were. [Reaching inside her trousers and she pulls out a stone with a sword engraved on it. Hades would know it if he had looked upon her back before since the same symbol is tattooed on her skin.] But not many meet when one assumes they were dead after all.

[He's probably seen her back at this point, so the symbol is familiar to him, attention remaining on the stone as she speaks. Though that was... an odd way of describing someone.]

No, one does not generally expect to see the dead again.

[Apart from in worlds like this. And his own goals of bringing back his dead civilization. Apart from that.]

But a little thing like that wasn't enough to stop you.

No...I thought nothing of it at first. But the more we traveled, the more I learned, things began to happen that I couldn't describe until later.

[Her fingers close around the stone gently as she continues on the tale.]

Fray had gotten angrier the more times I went to help someone who needed it. Saying how I shouldn't have but I went to do it anyway. Something changed when I went to fetch some supplies for a merchant at the Drydocks from some bandit quirin and not all of the goods were pristine. Naturally they were not happy about and lashed out at us. Fray had a few choice words for them and walked off but what concerned me what was spoken next:

He addressed me, believing I was the one who spoke so harshly to him and terrified.

[Mira knows now the truth of the matter. And it still hurts.]

[He hums a little at the story. There was only one real conclusion to draw from all that. And it would explain why he'd never seen nor heard mention of this Fray before.]

It sounds as though you should listen to yourself more often, then.

[His attention shifts back to Mira's face.]

Or have they stopped giving you such sensible advice as staying out of the affairs of the undeserved?

[He figured that out quickly but she nodded in reply.]

I didn't realize how much resentment I was holding in back then. Something I had to learn for myself the hard way but the need to help others is always there, to be unable to resist saying yes because I am simply used to it.

[She didn't dare speak about Myste. That is an entire can of worms in itself.]

Although it is easier to tell or show someone my displeasure after learning the truth from them; I know one fool who went without his drink after I smashed the bottle, learning that he treated me as a servant.

[RIP Ale Bottle.]

Fray made me realize that I was not a perfect person and that...it was okay to feel angry when needed. That I simply was not just a weapon to be used and that it was ok to feel resentment towards it. To not bottle it up.

[And for one matter...she still is. Like she could even tell him that one even if a certain puca was cheering her on for it.]

Being here has made me think about it really hard, to honestly look and ask myself if it was ok and...it wasn't. Am I selfish for having these thoughts?

[It was either that or some kind of ghost, and personal delusion seemed more likely. Considering everything the Warrior went through, some kind of mental break should be expected, honestly.]

Considering the tales the realm tells of you, 'tis clear the world considers you its servant. From Hydaelyn downward, you're the tool to solve all ills save your own.

[Though if this 'solution' to resentment is a dark knight thing (considering its tie to her job stone) and not a Warrior of Light thing, Emet-Selch wondered what sort of outlet K'rihnn or Rose had. Rose especially, but he wouldn't be surprised if K'rihnn also had some sort of lurking... something, even if it were a bit hard to imagine. Or if Irhya's experiences were the same as Mira's- but then, she'd spoken to him once as though she'd been not-quite-herself. Was that the same thing?]

Why would it be selfish to take care of yourself? To not want your decisions made for you, by friends who think they know better?

For who can help the hero when they need it the most?

[There have been attempts but not more than that and she finds herself leaning against him more, finding his hand to place hers over. Oddly enough, being around the Ascian gives her a sense of comfort that she hasn't felt in a long time.]

I do not want to be the glorious pillar of strength everyone assumes me to be. To simply just be me. And forgive me when I say this but...I am glad I need not to be when I am around you.

At this point, I'd be disappointed were you to try and become someone else. Now that I know who you are....

[At feeling her hand on his, he looks down at it, considering. As she leans further, he tilts his head, to brush his lips briefly over her cheek.]

Although... to be honest, I viewed you all as mostly interchangeable when I first arrived. The same malformed echo of one person. Only the angle was different, a superficial thing like shape or basic temperament....

[At what point had she started to become Mira?]

But- you're all quite different, aren't you?

[She makes a small noise of content when his lips touch her skin. But it is his words that make her pay more attention, staring up at him as he speaks. That...is different from the time on the First isn't it?

But he's right. They all have their differences such as Irhya and her playfulness, Rose and her ability to not take shit, K'rihnn and his kindness and her with her love of stories and bleeding heart. And he has helped her, perhaps he knew it or not.]

We are even if we walked the same path, but I will still be me. That I cannot deny even if I need the reminder from time to time. Another thing to be grateful and thankful to you for.

[He doesn't give her needless praise or what she wants to hear at times but rather what she needs to. It gives her things to think on.]

[It was still a bit strange to view them all as individuals. And he felt a moment's regret that he'd presumably never get to the chance to know the Warrior from his own version of their star like this. And Mira had already killed the Emet-Selch of her world.

There was only this, for however long it lasted.]

Gratitude, is it...? While I'll certainly accept it, I don't see the need for it. You'll remain yourself outside of mine, or anyone else's intervention.

[He looks back at her, even as he turns his hand to take light hold of hers.]

--I hope you'll remember that much, if nothing else, whenever you return to your duties upon our star.
