[That face...it's the face of someone knowing they got busted for something they shouldn't be doing. Mira folds her arms and stares at the miqo'te like this isn't just something that can be pushed aside.]

I should be asking you that. Considering you have been greatly injured, 'tis a surprise to see you walking around when you should be resting.

[Boi, you in trouble.]

[K'rihnn glances away and plays with the ends of his fringe. His ears pin back a little, like any cat that knows he's been bad and regrets it.]

... I... felt restless. Cooped up in the house all day. I thought... maybe I could handle going out to the library right quick, just to get something to do.

[The Dragon sighs softly as his tail twitches in slight agitation, mostly because of nerves.]

I didn't want to bother anyone to get them for me. Raha's been overworking himself, Rose is... hiding, for lack of a better word, and... well... you've been working yourself to near sickness. So... I thought I could do at least this one thing on my own....

[And he would've been fine, until he got caught.]

And make yourself get worse without rest? It is not less work for those who wish to help you but more.

[She walks towards him and with two fingers, gently flicks his forehead. Dumb catte.]

You have my mirror contact, you could have called me for assistance. Or even if you wished for company! Surely, I would have found a way to ensure your entertainment and recovery!

[The noise K'rihnn makes when his forehead is suddenly flicked is equivalent to a startled cat. He frowns up at her, and feels... very, very nervous. Whether he's in the wrong or not, standing up for himself to other people and speaking his mind has always been... difficult, if not impossible. Even now, the Miqo'te is terrified that this will make Mira give up on him as a friend.

It takes a lot of will to keep these feelings from leaking over to Emet-Selch and the Exarch. It takes much more of his courage to speak up.]

Y... You've been overworking yourself! I'm n-not blind or stupid, Mira! This, at least, I can handle fine on my own! A-and I don't want to spend all my time in a silent house every day while I recover!

[At this point, K'rihnn is shaking slightly, mostly from the fear he's gone too far. It's true enough, though. Some quiet is fine, but when the Exarch is out of the house... it just gets eerie and depressing.]

Did I not just finishing speaking about 'calling me when you need company'?

[Do you need your ears cleaned as she keeps staring at him, unflinching.]

You've been through Hell. And the more you keep standing around trying to overwork yourself, the more you will not be able to heal and worry us more. And besides, this is healthy compared to where I was before.

[Honestly, thank Vanitas for making her rest (for like an hour or two) and Emet-Selch for asking her to stay with him so he can rest. She found it easier to rest a little better with her Bondmate near.]

[His eyes get a bit steely when he says:]

I might've been seriously hurt, but I know I'm well enough to take a short walk and carry around a couple books. 'Tis not as if I'm sneaking out to do training or run real errands.

[K'rihnn wants at least a little of the independence his recent injuries have robbed him of for the foreseeable future. His tail flicks before he gives conditional agreement.]

You could have at least asked if you wanted someone with you if you desired to go out so badly. I can understand the feeling of needing to keep my mind preoccupied.

[It's why she's done nothing but run around these past couple weeks. Mira doesn't want to explain about when she was at the Coven and how she was damn near hysterical with wanting to help out. That she needed to in order to find them...or so she kept saying it outloud.]

I care about you K'rihnn. And I just want to make sure you heal up alright.

[K'rihnn's ears pin. He knows full well that Mira is just trying to help, and that she's concerned for his well-being. But...]

'Tis not my own thoughts I'm escaping. 'Tis the feeling of being confined, stifled and babied. I know well enough that I'm not fit for anything more taxing than this.

[A hint of bitterness creeps into his voice on that last statement. He hates not being able to do more, but he's being responsible enough to keep himself from straining his injuries.

Still, the Miqo'te sighs softly as he starts to head back to the mansion, knowing Mira will most likely follow him.]

I know, Mira, and I greatly appreciate your friendship. I just... need you to understand that constant interaction can be just as stifling as being confined to bed. To me, at least.

[Damn right she's following. She'll even cook if it comes to it. Give his dearest a break at least. But she then asks something because if that is what he wants...well, if he falls on his arse and gets hurt more, she's not to blame.]

So...do you wish me to leave you alone then?

[K'rihnn is quiet for a moment when she asks that. Then, he sighs softly and his ears droop.]

I wouldn't turn your offer of company away, no.

[He glances up at the Hyur.]

'Tis... a fine line between concern and babying, and I've experienced far more of the latter than I care to admit.

[For most, the Miqo'te suspects that his personality, small stature, and having a 'pretty' face are contributing factors. He highly doubts any of this applies to right now, but it still edges too closely to what he's experienced before for comfort.]

[K'rihnn, you are a Warrior too. And she has seen your axe before; it wouldn't surprise her if you snapped someone between your thighs. It's the same with her; look soft but can punch a face in.]

Alright. But if it gets too much for you, just tell me. I will not try to coddle but I do wish to help.

[Well... he does cleave boulders in half as part of his warrior training. The point about his thighs stands.

K'rihnn nods and he seems to relax at that reassurance. It's enough for her to try.]

Okay. I can do that much, I promise.

[And he's not in the habit of breaking promises.]

How are you and Hades faring? I fear I haven't been able to make a visit yet... 'tis a bit too far away for me to make comfortably on my own.

[Mira nods, being able to handle that at least and continues to walk beside him. It's the bit about Hades that gets Mira a little flushed. Mainly because during that time and even before, things felt intense. And not even the typical fare that a Warrior and Ascian should feel.]

He has been staying down for the most part and I've been making sure he stays as comfortable as possible.

[Sometimes being a Dark Knight shaped pillow too. It has helped slightly with her own rest as well but not by much. But she does stay with him and keep an eye out.]

[K'rihnn raises an eyebrow when he sees that flush on her face. For now, he doesn't comment on it. Verbally.]

I'm glad to hear that. 'Twas... a bit disconcerting. We shared a cell, once, and yet... I couldn't feel my Bond with him.

[The purple-haired Seeker hesitates for a moment.]

And yourself?

[He may not know what it's like to be a dark knight, but he understands what it's like to be a warrior. In some ways, they're similar to each other.]

[She's lucky K'rihnn actually mentioned about their Bond otherwise this would be very awkward indeed. But recalling her own being smothered...she goes quiet. She doesn't like admitting this but sooner or later...]

...smothered. Painful. Like something was missing deep within and I couldn't soothe it. It felt like it was growing worse the more everyone stayed missing.

[He's quiet as she says all of that. After a moment, K'rihnn nudges her gently. It's about as good as he can get for physical comfort while they walk.]

Aye... the best I got were fleeting feelings from Hades and Raha. 'Twas... hard to distinguish if they were real or just wishful thinking.

[The Miqo'te clutches his books tighter to his chest.]

It felt strange and unsettling and... lonely without them.

[He looks up at Mira apologetically.]

My apologies for bringing up that pain.... I just wanted to make sure you were okay after all of that.

[Look, the bump is fine. As long as he doesn't overdo it. Gods, just feeling that horrific pain was not a dull ache; no, it felt like it was raw and sharp, hitting her nerves constantly and she has no idea why. It couldn't have been from before, right?]

You have nothing to apologize for. Besides, I will be fine compared to everyone who was stuck in that hell.

[She was Fine. She had to be.]

[K'rihnn looks up at her, silent and solemn for a moment. Then, he looks away.]

'Tis alright if you are not fine. 'Twas torture in its own way for you out here.

[The Miqo'te has them take a right. By his estimate, they'll be at the manor soon.]

I know it was for Raha, though he may not describe it quite like that. But... 'tis still okay to not be fine. Hurt is hurt, and 'tis... unhealthy to compare our hurts to another person's.

[They're almost at the manor and what K'rihnn says about G'raha makes Mira freeze.]

Wait...that is not a typical feeling of the Bond?

[Did something break and it's being noticeable now? No. Besides, not many decided to worm into the Coven or hospital depending saying that she needs to help otherwise a Bad Time will happen.]

[K'rihnn stops when he sees Mira has, too. He gives her a curious look, tilting his head slightly.]

What you described was much more acute. 'Twas similar to what one would describe a broken Bond. Just... not a dull ache.

[His tail sways as he considers her.]

If you wish to know more about it, 'twould be prudent to ask Raha directly. I'm... not the best to ask, as my experience with it was different and... well... I had other things to deal with on top of that smothered effect.

I...I guess so. That's really strange since we're still Bonded after all.

[That is...odd. But would G'raha really be ok with talking about his enemy and a version of his friend having strong feelings?]

But enough about that. [Yes let's not talk about the weird feelings over the enemy.] You have a few books with you, yes? What kinds are they?

Aye... and, I must admit, I'm... kind of glad that I didn't experience the effect like that. I shudder to think what Raha would've done if so, not to mention....

[K'rihnn trails off, deciding not to finish that sentence about how he himself would've handled his situation had his Bonds felt broken.

He takes the change in subject gratefully.]

Ah, yes. One is a music book for lyres, another on astrology, and the last is some sort of fantasy-romance novel, judging by the synopsis.

Sort of?

[Ok, that last one intrigues her. Is it poorly written smut? Purple prosey as hell? Or maybe an really well written story?]

One you haven't been able to read, I assume?

[K'rihnn shakes his head with a small smile.]

Not yet! I'm hoping it'll keep my interest for a couple of days.

[Sometimes they're hit-and-miss. Sometimes it's just nice to have a trashy-yet-enjoyable romance novel to read.]

I could give you a better idea of what it's like after I've read a fair bit of it, if you want.

[Mira may find romance novels to be typical and boring at times, it's usually the really bad ones or a really good one she can be down for. And since it's here...well...]

Or mayhap it can be something shared? It would be nice to talk to someone about stories for a time.

[Besides, it would count as a way to spend time with each other and not just a means to check on someone recovering. You know, like fun.]
