[closed] Bonding Date? Bonding Date!
Who: Caren & Enkidu
When: backdated to the 12th
Where: Inside an inn
What: Cu set them up to talk bonding things
Warnings: none
[Enkidu sits down and places their hands on the table. If they are correct she wanted to make apologies and Cu insisted for them to meet. So here they are.]
I am quite sure there is nothing you have to apologize about. At least...as far as I know.
[Now they lean forward a little only to tap their chin briefly.]
Hmm, I also do not really care for apologies.

I attacked you. I don't know if I bit you or not but...it's still rather rude of me to do such a thing.
I haven't gone feral before, but still.
[She sighed, and:]
I don't like apologizing, if it helps at all. It's awkward.
no subject
[Enkidu knows what that means.]
Why haven't you bonded yet? If I am correct that will stop you from going feral. [When someone comes to take their order they lean back again and order two beer. To be fair, they want to order an entire barrel but alas, those days are gone.]
Very well. Apologies accepted then.
no subject
[She shrugged. As for the blunt questioning-she stifled a sigh. She understood it, and they didn't mean any harm by it.
It's difficult seeing someone like Enkidu being a fierce warrior who fought Gilgamesh to a standstill. But it's the truth.]
But thank you for your acceptance. As for why not...
[She grimaced. It felt difficult to explain.]
I was, until nearly a month ago. And there is a pain that comes with the severance, one that I'm not familiar with. An emotional one.
There are other reasons, of course. Why haven't you bonded with anyone? If you don't mind me asking.
no subject
You are welcome.
[They gaze at her while they listen and once again they find themselves not entirely approving of this entire bond mechanic. It is too personal, too significant.]
I am bonded with Cu through a potion. It will suffice for now. I will not explode. [They continue speaking after they have received two full mugs of beer.] But for something permanent...I rather not. [A pause.] I know we have been set up here to discuss bonds. Even though we have met once or twice it is still not a reason to bond. We are strangers to one another.
no subject
I understand monster and witch bonds are the most suitable. That may be why this was suggested.
[She stares at the mugs. Ah...well. Maybe it's best to tell them the truth. Or, at least, some of the truth.]
I can understand. But while we may be strangers, we do have a connection to one another, though through another.
Gilgamesh, the king of heroes. I was his master for a time, back in my world. I inherited the summons, but still...I knew him.
no subject
[Enkidu expect this to be yet another conversation about having to bond but not wanting to bond. Perhaps she needed their help to survive. They even expect that Cu might show up to explain the direness of this situation.
But then she says that and frankly...that takes them aback a little. They never knew this young monster-woman used to be a Master, let along a Master who had their friend as a Servant.]
Gil is my friend. I have not seen him in a long time. [They take a larger sip now.] Ah. Tell me about him. How has he been?
no subject
[There's a fondness in her tone-subtle but there, approving of Caster. But then, she did like the Servant, even if there were some complications with their relationship. It couldn't be helped.]
It's difficult to say. He's always well as he can be. However- much of my time with him, he had reverted to his child self. I even caught a glimpse of him as a teenager once.
Pity I do not have a photograph. I think you would have found him rather adorable.
no subject
[And yes, it helps a little that Gil is the common denominator here. There's a certain relief in that.
When she says that their eyes widen a little.]
I have observed him when he was a child, I know how he looked. [Ah, there it is again, that heavy melancholy. That feeling that always weighs on their heart the second they think about their dear friend.] But I am surprised that he reverted to his younger self during a Grail War.
I also never expected you to be a Master.
[They smile.]
It isn't a bad thing.
no subject
[She says it fondly enough, since well, he can be rather razor sharp about things she misses. She's still surprised, hearing that Enkidu had seen Gil in such a form.
But then...friends like them shared everything, didn't they...?]
If it helped, it was a highly unusual circumstance. I don't have the circuits to be a Master but-him and one other were inherited contracts.
He wasn't fighting the one one fights for a Grail War. It was after the War had completed. Or...it was supposed to complete.
no subject
Then he must have been a Servant for a long time, not? His Master must've cared for him. [Enkidu smiles.] Were they friends? Tell me more of it.
no subject
From the records I found, he managed to stay in the world for ten years. They were friends, even partners in crime, as much as they could be. There was an understanding.
I understand too, that Gilgamesh wasn't summoned originally by that person. They were originally the Master of Assassin, but somehow they chose each other.
[It sounds more romantic then it was, she thinks. But it is true.]
no subject
I had hoped for this. [The smile on their face grows broader now.] You do not know how happy this makes me. For him to move forward, to live his life anew.
[They take a large sip of their beer.]
Ah Gil. My dearest friend...
no subject
[It's very much love and devotion.
And...she's jealous, a little. But Gil earned it, somehow. Earned their friendship by...being a friend, as much as he could.]
Gilgamesh...I knew him only for a short time, compared to the friend, compared to you. But...he's always been the sort to thrive, somehow.
[Just don't tell him she said that, ever.]
no subject
[The smile on their face is a fond one.]
Yes. He is. He has an immensely strong will. Whatever terrible things will happen to him, he will overcome and be victorious.
no subject
And Gilgamesh stands tall. But that doesn't mean he'd be happy.
no subject
[It is something they believe in. It instills hope inside of them. Gil will be well, wherever he is. Still that doesn't mean that they do not miss him, that they do not worry for him.
In fact, they fret a lot.]
Has he been happy when he was your servant?
no subject
He had moments of happiness, as people do. He was able to play with the children, as a child and as an adult. I think that's where I saw him the most happy- playing games, providing them with toys, and so on.
no subject
[And that makes them very happy. After all, Gil deserves to move forward, to allow himself to forget the past.]
What made him sad?
no subject
[Even thinking back...he wasn't the same person she read about in various records.]
Ah...that. His former master, the one he was companions with...he died.
There's conflicting reports on how, but it was during the Grail War. You know how it can be. Even if they were a healer, and a master combatant...you never know what to expect.
no subject
[Slowly they lean forward.]
Tell me more about him. What kind of man was he? For Gil to care in such a way... As if he has been his friend.
no subject
[Ah, to speak well of that man...of That Man...the things she does for Gilgamesh and Enkidu. Her tail twitched slowly, before slowly sighing.]
He was a Priest, someone who was trusted well in the Church. A Priest whose mystic code was considered a miracle by God...someone who was considered skilled in various forms of combat, and in magecraft, he was known for being a healer.
But...I am not sure I am the best person to say what kind of man he was, or wasn't.
no subject
[The look on Enkidu's face turns a little bit more curious.]
Didn't you know him well?
no subject
And, by all accounts, he is someone...I don't view in the best light. So, I could not give an unbiased opinion of him, as I should.
no subject
[It is more a conclusion than a question.]
Worry not, I will respect that decision. Perhaps he will be able to tell the story himself one day.
no subject
[Though hearing that...She winces slightly.]
It may be best if you don't. They would not be popular here.
[To put it nicely.]
no subject
Gil's Master. The one who became his friend.
What did that Master do to be seen as someone who will not be popular?]
Hmm. [They sip their beer.] I hope you will tell me of him one day. Perhaps if we decide to bond. [Because that is all up in the air for now...]
