an important bunch of discussions

Who: Fordola and Thancred.
When: Pre-new arrivals, but after Thancred returns from Dorchacht.
Where: Their house.
What: Discussions of the last month... and discussions of home.
Warnings:

Fordola had considered going with Thancred, but hadn't.

Fordola had felt near-feral quite a bit over the month - she missed her bond, her tether. And so, as soon as Thancred had found his way back, Fordola had begun to fuss - as if he was one of her former Skulls. She would move to retrieve him...

...and get him home. Getting him food - some lightly grilled fish, even if she'd begun to eat them raw. And, well. She led Thancred to her main room, the nest she had been fussing over. She'd begun to steal weapons, to make her room feel safer. Her nest - more of a hoard, really - was really fit for a griffin.

"...comfortable?"

It was good to be back in Aefenglom proper. Thancred did shift a little awkwardly at being fussed over, wings fluttering- but it was good to know he was somewhere safe again. Protected. He's not too fussed over the fish- not his favourite, now, but still good food.

He settled down, wings spreading- letting himself relax, and looks around. "I am, " he said. "It looks as though you've been putting a lot into making it more homey here. That's good. I'm guessing it's comfortable for you?"

Oh, he's certainly not picky enough not to, nibbling away at the fish- to make it last as long as possible..

"That seems likely. They're quite ferocious, and rather protective…" He watches her with a concerned eye, ears twitching a little. "Well, that's something we can work on. With any luck, things should be settled for a while- even if there are rather more people now…" Which he'll probably get involved with, seeing as he helped there. He reaches out for some of the blankets, starting to arrange them. "And- you were still well?"

"It's better than where they were," he said quietly, gaze lowering for a moment. The orphanages- the Monsters, the people who'd been held… it had to be. If they're to be here- shouldn't he try to do something for the world? "I will. You deserve to be informed." If she wants to get involved- he might hope she'd decide to, but that's her decision.

"You mentioned that. What happened?" He sat up properly, reaching out to her. "What sort of dreams?"

"Slaves, and… One of the other mirrorbound found they were using Monsters to breed." Disgust filled his voice on the last word, and his fingers tightened- talons pulling at the material below him.

Those words startle him out of that particular dark place. "Van Baelsar- they're sure? Why- how?" He doesn't remember seeing it himself, but- the man was thrown from the Ultima Weapon. Even with reinforced armour… he must have taken grievous wounds.

He reached out to touch her, all the same- wanting the reassurance for himself, perhaps. To touch, for a little while.

"The Burn- where the land was drained of aether?" Thancred frowned. "Well- that does sound a suitable enough place to hide. Though I don't imagine it's pleasant living there…". He made a curious sound, shifting a little. "Not about the important things, like that," he said. "I think I understand what you mean- once we'd met again, after the Calamity…. There was something about them. Something that said this person was important,:

Thancred hummed, absently beginning to stroke over her hair. "I could think of some places… but I couldn't say I would want to sure them with him." He nodded. "There was something about them I knew, but… they weren't quite the same."

He shifted, attention focusing on her. "You did. Will you tell me, then? From your perspective." The way she'd put it concerned him a little- but he cared about her.

He made a soft sound at that, nuzzling into her- smiling a little. Before she starts, and he settles in to listen.

"…A primal? I… doubt that would be one of ours." He couldn't see any reason for it to be, at least. "Comrades who were on Baelsar's Wall," he said. "Then… you were- on the eastern side of the Wall?"

Nothing about what she'd said struck him as false. He tilted his head, wondering- trying to see if she reminded him of anyone from the time he'd spent in Ala Mhigo, before.
