[ It was supposed to be for him anyway. Yet he was still asking what she wanted. Though for all her talk, it was her stomach that ended up growling. ]
.......I think I saw them frying something over there.
[ She's going to start walking away from her embarrassment now. ]

[ Couldn't go wrong with deep-fried, unless you went really, really wrong. Majima followed the smell of cooking oil to a stand that was selling breaded shrimp, scallops, and sundry other things. ]
Hey, smells like... fried oysters? Or something? I could go for that. I love seafood. It's part of the whole island country thing.

[ She perks up suddenly. ]
I've never had that before..
[ They're a little out of her price range. ]
And they're just giving them out to share? Just like that?

[ And just like that, Majima was making his way up to one of the food stalls. ]
Plate of your fried oysters, please. Extra crispy, if you're takin' orders.
[ The woman behind the stall was all smiles. "Oh, sharing a dish, are we? Wait just one moment please..." And then she was busily grabbing fried treats from the frying oil, accompanied by the smells of cooking batter. ]

She tries to contain it, of course, but her eyes do shine with excitement and also a little hunger as she watches the lady prepare their food. The smell was much stronger now, but in a good way. ]
I didn’t realize fried food could smell this good.
[ Though it might also be nice to have something along with it. ]
Could we get a drink too?

Majima accepted one of the beers gladly -- wow, his first drink as a free man, which he managed to take a quick swallow of even as he balanced the plate of fried seafood. ]
Hey, thanks. I know it's a festival and all, but... you're givin' us all this stuff, is there anythin' I can do in return?
[ The woman smiled. "Well, you can tell people that The Sea Note has the best fried oysters in town! We could always use some good word of mouth!" ]

Thank you, miss.
[ Alex takes a sip, although not as enthusiastic as Majima's. ]
I think we can sit over there.
[ It wasn't a proper seat and table, but the stone ledge still looked spacious and comfortable enough to sit for a bit. ]

Here, dig in.
[ Bizarre dreams or not, there was something comforting about fried food and some alcohol to wash it down with. So hey, one step at a time. ]
Hell, no one back home'd believe this.

Mm-Howt--ish still howt.
[ You've been warned, Majima. ]
no subject
That good, huh?
[ So he speared a piece himself and knocked it back, huffing with a hand over his mouth to disperse some of the heat. ]
Whew, my compliments to the chef.

Thankfully, hers had started to cool down and she could properly enjoy it, and it was heavenly. ]
I didn't know it was this good..And we really got it for free?
good place to wrap?
[ He kicked back another of the fried morsels, looking rather pleased. ]
That jerk didn't know what he was missin'.
yup!
Well I prefer sharing it with you, that's for sure.
[ And she really was grateful for the more pleasant company. She'll think of a better way to repay him another time. ]
