i. snowglobes and cafes ; purramid

a. [ it's not a bad job to have, by any means — being a barista is easy, dealing with customers is easy, and the pay is not bad. and the kittens are cute, of course!

one day, she brings something with her to work; a snowglobe that she sets at one of the counters, out of the way enough to not disturb the work, but close enough that she can see it during the days. inside the snowglobe, there's ocean waves crashing on its insides, as a ship with a lion's head at its front and a skull with a straw hat on it painted on its sails fights against the waves. all around it, snow keeps falling slowly. ]

b. [ when she's not taking a break with petting kittens, nami is actually, you know, doing her job as a barista. when a customer approaches her, she greets them with a beaming smile and, ]

Hi, what can I get you?

[ or, if it happens to be someone she already knows, ] Oh, hey, it's you!

[ ... politeness really isn't a pirate's strength, okay. ]

ii. all about onigashima ; the coven

[ in her free time, nami still attends magic classes, but spends her time training both physical fighting skills as well as magical. this particular day, she can be found sitting in a large courtyard after practising; there's scorch marks all over the ground. nami twirls her clima-tact in her hand idly... and upon seeing someone else enter the courtyard, she says, ]

Hey... what do you think it takes to defeat a really, really large dragon?

[ not that she's going to be the one fighting kaido... but if she can get her friends any pointers at all, that'd be great. ]

iii. behave, garden! ; nami's house

[ should anyone walk past a small, unassuming house that nami calls home, here, they might see that a patch of the garden is kept warm with spells even during winter, and there a patch of vegetables grows... in relative peace.

"relative", because sometimes, the vegetables in question require some encouragement. ]

Oi, stop that! You're supposed to be growing, not running around! Tangerine, stop chasing them!!

[ neither nami's sheep-like cauliflowers nor her cat seem to listen to her at all, running around her in a circle. eventually, she just sits down and sighs, leaning her chin on her hand. ]

Haaaahh.... I'm really not made to be a farmer.

iv. have you met sanji-kun? ; around the city ( note: responses come from both nami and sanji! )

[ whereas some months ago, nami would be seen on her own most of the time, nowadays it's not too rare to spot her accompanied by a slim, blonde man with a notably curly eyebrow. she bosses him around mercilessly, more often than not making him carry all the bags from their shopping trips... not that he seems to mind too much.

but should anyone run into them as they're out and about, especially if it's someone nami already knows, she's quick to greet them with a grin and a wave. ]

Hi! It's good to see you! Ah — [ then, glancing at her companion, ] This is Sanji-kun, our crew's cook! [ and from the bright, bright smile on her face, it's easy to see she's glad she's no longer the only straw hat in this world. ]

That's a great idea! Rikku-chan, you should come and eat with us some day soon! Or today, if you're not busy!

[ nami seems to think this is a great idea, beaming. ] Sanji-kun's cooking is really unparalleled.

[ look, she may roll her eyes at his lovestruck antics, but his food deserves all the compliments. ]

[This Sanji guy is a smooth talker AND will feed her? Yeah, Rikku's impressed. She gives him her most winsome smile before responding to the invitation that they've both extended to her.]

I was just on my way to pick up a few things, but it's nothing urgent. Are you sure that's okay on such short notice?

[Sanji will never ever get tired of Nami complimenting his food. It's really the best sort of praise he could receive. He knows he's a first class chef, but that warmth in his chest never goes away when he hears Nami give his food the highest regard.

And while he's still smiling brightly at Rikku, it becomes a little less lovestruck and something a bit more kind.]

Of course, Rikku-chan! There's always an open spot when I'm cooking~~ And I'm used to cooking for a crew, one of them being a gluttonous pit.

Yes, exactly! [ nami nods along to sanji's words, rolling her eyes when he mentions the gluttonous pit. ]

Trust me, Sanji-kun can whip up a three-course meal for our entire crew in no time at all, and for our entire crew is equal to maybe a hundred people or more... so don't worry! Just the two of us is nothing!!

Oh wow! That's really impressive!

[Nami has the best friends from back home! Rikku's kind of jealous.]

Well, if it's no trouble I'd love to have a meal with you guys! I can bring Geddo over so he and Tangerine can play and everything.

[And another compliment! This time by the lovely Rikku-chan! It's really a good thing that Sanji isn't a Witch, because actual hearts would be by his head right about now.]

Then it's settled my amazing ladies~~ I'll cook something up for all of us! A meal that will be lovingly crafted, a special coming straight from the heart.

[A true Sanji chef's special.] Of course, appetizers and drinks will be provided too... along with a fine dessert at the end!

Great! [ nami claps her hands together and beams. ]

Then... we'll head home so that Sanji-kun can start preparing the menu! We'll see you and Geddo-chan soon! Tangerine should be excited, she's been craving playmates recently... maybe this will make her stop chasing the vegetables.

[Man, friends are awesome to have! New friends who can cook are even better.]

Yeah, it'll be good to let them work out all their kitten energy. Geddo has started chasing anything that moves, and it's making my poor housemate nervous.

[Since Karin's a harpy and all.]

Am I good to come over as soon as I pick up the cat, or do you guys need time to get ready?

You can come as soon as you want, Rikku-chan. Let you and Nami-san catch up more~

[Sanji definitely doesn't mind, as long as he gets to provide refreshments for them. He's sure that Nami-san would be happy just chatting with her friend with their cats around, especially since Robin-chan isn't here.]

What he said!

[ nami grins — their house isn't too dirty or anything that she'd need to clean... and sanji-kun can start cooking once they get home, so she can chat with rikku while they wait. it's perfect! ]

Just come when you're ready!

Okay! I'll see you guys soon!

[With that, Rikku gives the pair a wave and heads home to drop off her packages and pick up her still-young cat. Within the hour, she's at Nami and Sanji's door.

Geddo teleports out of her arms and into the house proper before she can knock. Rikku hears a couple of meows and some rustling.]

Geddo, don't do that! That's rude!

[A pause, and she knocks on the door.]

Hi, I'm here! Sorry Geddo's being a rude jerk!

[Sanji has nearly finished the two drinks he's prepared for Nami and Rikku when the knock on the door grabs the blond's attention. Oh, and there's a cat inside too, but he's far more excited about a certain lady...! Placing his knife down, the cook calls to Nami that he'll answer the door, before lightly skipping over and answering it with his usual wide smile.

Geddo is forgiven because of Rikku, that's all.]

Come on in~~ Drinks are nearly ready.

[ nami, upon seeing geddo suddenly appear in the room and watching tangerine mrroww in delight, just laughs.

the laughter probably carries over to the opening door, too. and if it doesn't, nami's shout of, ]

Don't worry, Rikku-chan! Geddo and Tangerine are already playing. [ apparently the fact that they've met before means that the usual sniffing-each-other-tentatively turns into playful swatting in no time at all. ]

[Rikku will take the forgiveness, and it seems that Geddo and Tangerine are having a good time. All's well that ends well, or whatever.

She enters the home and has a quick look around.]

You have a really nice place here! Have you lived in this house long?
