i. snowglobes and cafes ; purramid

a. [ it's not a bad job to have, by any means — being a barista is easy, dealing with customers is easy, and the pay is not bad. and the kittens are cute, of course!

one day, she brings something with her to work; a snowglobe that she sets at one of the counters, out of the way enough to not disturb the work, but close enough that she can see it during the days. inside the snowglobe, there's ocean waves crashing on its insides, as a ship with a lion's head at its front and a skull with a straw hat on it painted on its sails fights against the waves. all around it, snow keeps falling slowly. ]

b. [ when she's not taking a break with petting kittens, nami is actually, you know, doing her job as a barista. when a customer approaches her, she greets them with a beaming smile and, ]

Hi, what can I get you?

[ or, if it happens to be someone she already knows, ] Oh, hey, it's you!

[ ... politeness really isn't a pirate's strength, okay. ]

ii. all about onigashima ; the coven

[ in her free time, nami still attends magic classes, but spends her time training both physical fighting skills as well as magical. this particular day, she can be found sitting in a large courtyard after practising; there's scorch marks all over the ground. nami twirls her clima-tact in her hand idly... and upon seeing someone else enter the courtyard, she says, ]

Hey... what do you think it takes to defeat a really, really large dragon?

[ not that she's going to be the one fighting kaido... but if she can get her friends any pointers at all, that'd be great. ]

iii. behave, garden! ; nami's house

[ should anyone walk past a small, unassuming house that nami calls home, here, they might see that a patch of the garden is kept warm with spells even during winter, and there a patch of vegetables grows... in relative peace.

"relative", because sometimes, the vegetables in question require some encouragement. ]

Oi, stop that! You're supposed to be growing, not running around! Tangerine, stop chasing them!!

[ neither nami's sheep-like cauliflowers nor her cat seem to listen to her at all, running around her in a circle. eventually, she just sits down and sighs, leaning her chin on her hand. ]

Haaaahh.... I'm really not made to be a farmer.

iv. have you met sanji-kun? ; around the city ( note: responses come from both nami and sanji! )

[ whereas some months ago, nami would be seen on her own most of the time, nowadays it's not too rare to spot her accompanied by a slim, blonde man with a notably curly eyebrow. she bosses him around mercilessly, more often than not making him carry all the bags from their shopping trips... not that he seems to mind too much.

but should anyone run into them as they're out and about, especially if it's someone nami already knows, she's quick to greet them with a grin and a wave. ]

Hi! It's good to see you! Ah — [ then, glancing at her companion, ] This is Sanji-kun, our crew's cook! [ and from the bright, bright smile on her face, it's easy to see she's glad she's no longer the only straw hat in this world. ]

[The more Sanji gets used to his changing body, the more exhausted he feels during the day. His skin even paler than before, along with a set exhaustion that doesn't really disappear until the sun goes down. But despite all that, he wants to see the beautiful Nami-swan while she's at work~~ It's a chance of a lifetime!

And okay, a part of him (most of him) just wants to tell Nami to sit down somewhere and let him take over her job, but he refrains. Partly because she looks really cute in that uniform, but also because of the snow globe that's resting on the counter.

The Thousand Sunny. Their ship brings a smile out of Sanji, and while he does his usual fawning when Nami comes around, he actually jumps into talking about the snow globe-- at least about a particular person that leads their crew.]

Have you thought about Luffy being here? [And the rest of their nakama, of course-- especially the lovely Robin-chan...! But Sanji, despite how many times he calls their captain an idiot or such, holds a deep respect and connection to him. Heck, they all do, in their own way.]

Rubber bastard wouldn't be rubber anymore. [On one hand, the thought actually makes Sanji frown, but also he knows that Luffy would be able to adapt to the situation with that same large smile he shows to the world.]

[ she's happy to show him the globe, glad to have some reminder of their home, something concrete. at the question, she laughs — of course she's thought of it! during her months alone... she didn't have one day where she didn't think of how the rest of their crew would do here, what they would turn into, how they would take to magic, what kind of chaos they'd unleash. ]

More like I've had nightmares about it... he doesn't need to be rubber to get into trouble! Whether he changed into something like you, or got magic powers... aaahhh, what a disaster it'd be!

[ and though she may sigh and moan about this... she's actually rather glad luffy is back home. not because she doesn't miss him terribly; of course she does! but because if, for some reason, her and sanji get stuck here... luffy will be there, chasing his dream, raiding onigashima, ready to win against kaido.

at least he's not stuck here like they are, now. ]

[He can only imagine Luffy's reaction seeing a miniature version of their ship inside a snow globe like this. Probably be jumping and yelling and exclaiming how cool it is-- which honestly, Sanji wouldn't really disagree with him on it. Even though he's forever indebted to Zeff and (mostly) enjoyed living on the Baratie, home is the Thousand Sunny.

Ahhh but the lovely Nami-san has brought up a great point, as she always does!]

Wouldn't be Luffy if something didn't get destroyed every day. [Then he would laugh loudly and apologize in that goofy manner, which pisses people off but also endear them to him. Sanji understands that feeling all too well.]

He'd have the entire city mad at him within the week. [Sanji snorts, but there's a smile to him.]

Yes... at least with him not here, we don't have to keep paying for the damages.

[ which is absolutely what they would have to do, otherwise, because luffy and finances just don't mix. at all.

she's smiling too as she corrects, ]

He'd have half of them mad and half of them convinced he's their best friend within the week.

[ she looks at their ship, sailing through the waves in the bottle, and says, quietly, ] ... how do you think everyone is doing back home?

[chefalier]

[The cost of damages would be enormous... although, Sanji wonders if it's easier to fix things because of magic and whatnot. He figures that Nami-san has definitely practiced her magic since being here, probably things to do with climate. But she's definitely not the type to hold herself back when it comes to learning new things.]

Even the people mad at him would turn around.

[Sanji agrees with a small snort, before pulling out a cigarette and placing it in his mouth. He doesn't light it just yet, mostly mulling over the question she just asked. It's clear Sanji is a little worried about their nakama at home. How could he not be?]

...You said they were in Wano, Nami-san? [He remembers that she's further along than him, their crew ready to face off with Kaido, one of the Emperors.] They're in danger, probably. Marimo most likely got lost along the way.

[...]

But they'll pull through. [It's not going to be another Sabaody incident, he knows that for sure.] None of 'em really gives up. Not on themselves, not on Luffy.
