Clean Up, Clean Out
[The idea of cleaning out and getting rid of the clutter as a symbolic means isn't lost on Mira. In fact, she appreciates the sentiment more now than she did when she first arrived, having done a few of those things already. But it's when she goes to visit her puca friend in the slums, they tell her about a bit of an issue they've been having about the richer families dumping all their broken and unwanted things into their lap so to speak.
As a Brumeling, the idea makes Mira's blood boil because of the treatment. However, her focus then becomes of sorting through all the 'junk' the highborn thought as useless and make sure it gets better use. If it's broken wood or cloth that cannot be used for warmth, it can still be used as kindling. Winter is coming soon after all and people will need flame to keep warm during those snow storms.]
Mind the piles, we're making sure everything can have its use before deciding if it isn't needed.
[Spoken to whoever is passing by. Perhaps that person is you and you're curious as to why even the most tattered thing has its use to her. Or you want to lend a hand.
But there are moments where the people who dump the items are rather nasty. Dismissive about how disruptive leaving their 'trash' in a walkway or practically in another's yard, Mira's puca friend at first tells her not to worry and to keep her head down. Trash to the rich is treasure to them after all. But it's one of these moments where Mira sees a rather banged up item...and throws it at the offending rich person, nailing them somewhere on their body.]
Don't leave your shite where people walk you daft bastard! Would you like it if I came in and threw my unwanted things in YOUR yard?!
[Laugh or scold the dark knight, Mira cares not. Meanwhile, don't mind her throwing a very dented and broken teapot at someone's head after their latest dumping. Boom headshot!]
Out of the City
[It's a staple that Mira is usually giving some of her time in helping others; it's something she excels in or at least tries to do good in. But this time, she isn't just doing one thing. There's a few things people can see her doing:
Fighting: Someone needs to play bodyguard while some have to gather herbs and food for those affected and it's one Mira hasn't done in awhile so it doesn't bother her. In fact, one can see her help gather the items needed.
Potion Making: One needs medicine, right? And Mira is a witch who uses Alchemy for healing and buffing purposes so naturally, she would be here to help the other witches and potion makers who could mix and stir to help patients.
Storytime: A staple, Mira is usually here telling stories to the children but they are never about her. Instead, she uses people she has met on her journey as the main characters such as a miqo'te red mage who travels the world or a group of machinists who strive to bring a sense of equality in their home and even knights draped in shadow who protect those who are being taken advantaged of. They grew from the Alpha stories and decided it was time to try and give them a bit more.]
A Watery Pit
So...have to investigate why folks are going missing in the river is it? Damn, I wish I still had the Kojin's blessing.
[Mira sighs as she puts her hands on her hips. Currently at the harbor and now trying to find a good way to start investigating. One of those moments of 'I'll help out' but then realize that there is no ideas on how. Not her best but something must come up, right? She could use some help in this area on how to begin. Besides, she can't just jump in without some sort of direction.]

Clean Up
... Well it's honestly vile, dismal work and he'd rather be glued directly to Hydaelyn's glittering surface before doing so in anything RECOGNIZABLE, so the Ascian has foregone his mask and robes in favor of something that might blend in more. It's not the first time he's chosen to look more like the locals and it wouldn't be the last; what's one more ordinary blond man dressed more or less like everyone else in this place?
And he'd brought plenty of things with him by way of furnishings or old blankets, whatever he could manage to stuff in a somewhat rusty wheelbarrow - not damaged so much as old, dug out of a claimed home. And then set about bargaining for things he thought he could make use of.
Mira's presence isn't really noteworthy. He doesn't recognize her in the least, but nobody else here seems to have the nerve to shout at those dumping their trash.]
Do you think mere words would motivate such ... people ... to change their behaviors?
[He really doesn't look familiar, in the form he wears now. But the voice... it never changed, host to host to host.. And he sounds a touch disapproving.]
T'would be better to take action than shout in fury ... or leave off and return to more worthwhile tasks.
no subject
Words can only go so far when it comes to a lot who believes their power and wealth grants them say. It has been amusing to 'return' some of their items.
[WoL gives no shits about throwing their garbage back at them.]
But despite that, there are things that have much more of a use here. A coat only worn once can provide warmth to a child or broken wood and frayed cloth can be used as kindling.
no subject
It is all well and good to make something of their refuse, after all is it not said beggars shouldn't be choosy?
[And he, dressed as if he might be one of them.]
But throwing a teapot at a servant will accomplish naught save soothe petty emotions. Still will come the trash, piled up in front of doors and in streets, while the ineffectual stamp their feet and complain ... and do little more.
[At least what he's brought he knows will be immediately useful - to someone else. And in return might be able to find a thing or two he'd need as well. A shovel would be nice.. but none currently on hand.]
So save your energy, and spend it elsewhere. Or else rise up and teach a proper lesson to those who by virtue of naught more than circumstance and money, see you and all here as equals to that which they discard... mere trash.
no subject
While being grateful for having what they need to survive and live, being choosey is not as evil as some may believe. It could have some danger to it such as sickness or mold. That does remind me to have an area where things can be properly washed.
[Besides, she already threw flaming garbage at someone before; her son laughed his ass off and it was great. This past guy should have been lucky that the thing wasn't on fire. But she ponders and when she asks the following, it's one of curiosity.]
Might you be someone who believes words alone can change things?
no subject
[Which he'd all but said - but in fairness did not actually flat out say - twice now. Lahabrea might be all for manipulating others into whatever actions he seeks .. but if push comes to shove, he'll do it himself.
And if someone were dumping trash at HIS doorstep..]
Many lessons to the rich and powerful needs must be taught with other methods than idle word. Bruises to the body or worse, or bruises to the purse.
[He spreads his hands, expression momentarily bleak.]
If this has been ongoing for a time now, simply asking nicely that they cease blocking the roads and doors surely will get you nowhere.
aaa sorry for the delay >.<

tis the season to be busy, fa la la la la o/`
A Watery Pit
[ Says one of the merrow fishermen idly tending to his net. ]
The one before ye had a bit more o' a clue 'ow to start, miss. He's a Witch feller said 'is name was, errrr what was it....Bi-...Err, I've forgotten now...But he was lookin' for the port authority he was. That was about 'alf an 'our ago. Maybe if yer lucky, you'll can still catch up with him, eh!
[ He says cackling with amusement before pointing in the direction where the port authority office is located. There, she'll find the familiar dark clad form of Bishop inside bickering with very busy turnskin who was quickly reviewing and stamping parchment after parchment as the two spoke. ]
no subject
[Mira waves to the fisherman and runs down to the office, just to see Bishop arguing with the turnskin behind the counter. Ok, this is a thing. Maybe if she simply asks what is happening, maybe they can pair up.]
Oh Bishop! Is everything alright?
no subject
No. No it's not. I'm trying to find narrow my leads on some missing monsters. I'd be making headway but this guy won't let have a peek at their logs and shipping manifests. Keeps saying he's too busy to sort out those files.
[ He sighs loudly while looking back at the occupied turnskin. ]
I said I'd do myself but, he's got a bit of a stick up his ass. Company policy or some baloney.
no subject
[Perhaps they can work together on this.]
And so, only workers of this office can take a look at those files...?
[And in a whisper:]
Do you think if I hold that paperwork hostage, he might bend a bit?
no subject
[ He says while leaning in to whisper. ]
I feel sorry for the guy. It's only him and some other person on call today from what I could see so they're reasonably swamped and I don't want to make their lives even more of a night, but "people-in-potentially-mortal-peril" doesn't really rank high on his list of things to do apparently.
[ He sighs, crossing his arms and watching the turnskin review and stamp away at the seemingly endless amount of paperwork on his desk with the pile itself seemingly only growing bigger. A very big and important file under the eyes of a focused monster port authority. ]
....Feel free to hit me if this sounds stupid but, he's really absorbed in those sheets. Do you think we could just...[ He gestures and implies walking with his fingers. ]

And, thus, she's surprised to see Mira collecting herbs. But in that way that... ] Of course you're 'ere. [ She chuckled, not moving her hand from her blade.
She was still working, after all. ]
no subject
Have been for quite some time. Not much but trying not to overdo it like before. How have you been?
no subject
I've been helpin' a little - surprised we haven't seen each other around. But, uh. I've been okay?
no subject
[It's nice to see Fordola smile.]
I'm glad to hear it. We should get together more often; try and do what you suggested during that one time.
[The 'see this as a vacation' bit. Basically, they should have some fun.]

Then he looks to the piles before his gaze returns to her.]
Want a hand then?
[It's not like he has much better to do and he's always been resourceful enough to know that these "trash" that's being thrown out could be used for better things.]
no subject
That would be much appreciated.
[She then pats to the pile of cloth to her left side.]
I'm working on this pile right now; sorting it between clothing that needs some patchwork, fabric for kindling, and clothing that simply needs a wash so it can be donated.
no subject
Sounds good.
[He comes over closer to help her out.]
Some of these are still in good condition, too.
no subject
[So many coats and outfits. Yeesh.]
Hmm...some of these can even be adjusted for wings and tails. I'm pretty sure I know some folks who would enjoy this.
no subject
[Because really, this is a waste.
He picks up some clothing, putting them in their proper piles.]
We can give some of these clothing to that orphanage, too.
[Wouldn't want any kids to freeze, after all.]

Clean Up
[He knew the looks on the faces of the passing aristocrats all too well-- highborn as they were, they had closed their minds and hearts to the rest of the world around them and saw naught but the teachings that had been poured into their heads while living within the confines of their gilded halls. Lorenz's stomach twisted at the recognition, and he felt the shame of his own past behavior burning through his core.
Although much had changed in a handful of years, Lorenz knew he still had a lifetime of simplistic thinking to make up for.
Stepping up beside Mira, he noted the piles and the general air of resigned acceptance of such treatment from the local residents.
He sighed.]
How can I help, Mira?
no subject
[She knows those same looks of acceptance, the same ones she's seen as a child from her fellow Brumelings and her own mother. It's hard to try and satisfy both the dark knight side where she wishes to show those rich bastards to think twice and the poor girl who had to be reminded of beggars cannot be choosers. Honestly, fuck that last thought now that she thinks about it. This is one of those times when she has to not want to beat up the morons isn't it?
For now.
She groans and bites her lip but tries to put on a smile.]
We're trying to sort out the items by how they can be used: what can be given away, what can be fixed up and what broken things can be saved for kindling and firewood since winter will be coming soon.
no subject
[Perhaps not as dramatically as what Mira may have witnessed, but he knew better than to tread on the beliefs and hard work of the working class by this point. Untempered as he was in these circles, he chose instead to listen, and to learn.]
But let's not the frustration eat away at us, all right? It may prove... less than helpful.
Your ideas are sound-- waste not, want not, correct? Let us keep our heads and get to work.
no subject
[Mira cannot help but ponder if Fray were around, would she act out on her thoughts and go after that person. Her Fray, not the real one...it's really complicated. But she knows Lorenz is right...even as if she is trying to calm herself down from doing something possibly regretful. Her hands stay at her side as she clenches her fingers in and out as a means to relax, the smallest of purple tinged flames poking out from her fingertips until they become nothing more than smoke.]
Right, my apologies. We should do that. There's a lot to go through.
no subject
...And started to move the larger pieces of refuse with his slender yet oddly capable arms.]
Good heavens,
[he uttered, moving unearthing a large piece of carpentry work that looked as if it had once been a desk.]
Such waste-- and such a disgrace to allow this sort of craftsmanship to fall into disrepair!
