The laughter, there was no harshness but her words. They did hurt a little, but perhaps it was just that way with Beorc nobles. "It was how I was raised." She sighs out, smiling as she found a stuffed bear, missing an eye.

She frowns as she listens to her companion. "How cruel... They truly do not deserve such things." She somehow knew better than to ask if there were good nobles, not after hearing what they do. "Does anyone help those in need?" She blinks as she notices the doll.

"How cute. It just needs a little love and it will be good as new."

"We help ourselves...," Eileen spoke more softly, handing the stuffed chimera to Leanne to add to her collection.

"We do what others cannot, or will not. That is the way of things."

"... I am sorry." Should she become a Queen back home, she will have to work extra hard for those who are like those here or back in Eileen's world. She smiles as she hands her the doll and Leanne moves to search for some money to offer it to the older woman.

"You are strong... You and those of your world are strong. Those who are not nobles." And she couldnt help but to hiss the last word.

"Strength alone did not keep them from meeting bitter ends, child," Eileen turned her attention back to digging.

"You should not let your thoughts linger on where I come from. It is where we are now, that your energy should go to."

"... no... no it wouldnt." Those poor people. Leanne finds a few things that could be used to build toys as well as perhaps a gift to her bonded.

"I will try not to. I like hearing stories of other places and worlds. And there are lessons to learn from hearing about them. But you are right, I should focus on the little ones under my care as well as my bondmate."

Well, that was good news at least. Eileen's voice perked up.

"Ah, you've a bond now? I'm pleased to hear that, child." A chuckle, this one seemingly well more sincere, and intended.

Yes, it was good news. Though it came with a small cost.

Leanne giggles and nods. "Yes, I am finally bonded. It is to Rikku, the witch that made the post about finding a bond."

"To that girl, even. She's a strong one, to be sure. We fought alongside each other in Dorchacht," it had left a winning impression of Rikku, for sure.

"She will care well for you. That much I have faith in."

Leanne smiles as the other woman began to sing praises of her, to which she just nodded. "Yes, she is quite strong. She also is quite quick witted if I do say so myself."

She debated a little telling the Hunter what happened before the bonding, of her guilt when it comes to the Al-Bhed.

"I am glad... I shall pray that I will care for her just as much as she will for one as myself. And also keep her safe from now on."

Eileen cocked her head, slightly.

"Keep her safe?" it wasn't a foreign notion, precisely, but more looking at Leanne she...

Didn't really see the protector. More the protected.
