[Mikasa still didn't have a bond, and she was still hungry almost all of the time. Even with her working as much as she could and trying to grow her own food, it wasn't quite enough. It made her wonder how she'd gone days without eating after the wall had collapsed. And while she had an agreement with Mettaton, one she'd been willing to use. The festival and food donations were a blessing.
So she took the little pilgrimage, traveling from fire to fire eating her free food. Though occasionally, even after eating. She'd stand by the fire, looking up at the small insects, moths by the looks of most of them. Pupils enlarged and eclipsing her eyes. A slight tensing of her back and arms. Then she lunges, swiping her hands out to grab at the bugs. Most of the time she didn't miss, and they were quickly crammed into her mouth. Almost every time Mikasa's pupils would shrink to a normal size again and she'd slowly look around. Questioning what her life had become.
Midway through the festivities, she'd finished the journey between the two bonfires. Ending up at the Western one. And while she was still giddy, still drunk on air the way only fae could be. She still had enough sense to scowl at the elderly dragon, the one who'd been goading the youngsters to run through the flames. His bonded, a just as elderly human man. Awkwardly smiling and patting at the dragon's arm. 'Not everyone is fireproof. I can set up a spell?'
While Mikasa just awkwardly fidgeted, why did someone have to hear her sigh, spot her moping when she heard about the 'burning away poor relationship'. Why was she tempted...
Evidently she did end up doing it though. Because during the latter part of the second night her clothes were singed. And she spent most of the third day and night dancing and running around the posts, flinging ribbons at people haphazardly. Possibly making brightly coloured tripwires with them...Though she does disappear before midnight.]

[Even with the agreement, she still felt a little guilty. Because while she had already eaten into most of her budget, she was still so ravenously hungry. It was almost constant now. Keeping her awake even before the Sisters made her want to move. But there wasn't anything she could do about it.
Other than sending him a small text. 'Do you want to go somewhere for food? I'm not bothered what. I'll be by --' She just sent him a location. One easy enough for him to meet her at. If he didn't turn up, that was fine. She'd find something to do. But for now, she'd wait. Sitting on a bench and looking up at the sky.

[She was licking her wounds still. Not really. But that had not gone very well, even with everything so hazy the fae could work out that something was very wrong. The tinge in her arm where the bright red burn was kept reminding her. Grounding her when it stung. That and the hunger was bothering her more than the blood that ran down her chin and stained her shirt.
Probably because that wasn't hers...
That belonged to meal 1. Meal 2 though, that had been too hot for this fae to handle. So she'd run off in a panic, shying away from it on instinct. Looking for something smaller. Technically, there was quite a few things. Small animals. But those were barely enough to be worth the effort of catching them. That was when she spotted the smaller creature, moving slower than the animals. And Mikasa slowed her movements too, not to spook it. Just going to appear out of the park and onto the pathway.

[Once things calm down for her, and she'd settled. Or settled as much as she could with the whatever was going on with the moons. Mikasa got back to work. Water, and being in water that she had to wade in wasn't one of her favorite things. She liked being able to see what she was standing on, for it to be more stable than shifting sand and slime covered rocks. But still, even with a bond, she had to make sure she was eating enough. So there wasn't a repeat of the full moon. Even if the hunger wasn't an issue, she needed to find a way to apologise. At the moment the fae was at a loss on how to make amends though, and working had always helped her before.
So while her mouth was set in a grim line, she didn't complain about wading out. Taking off her boots. She'd even worn an old pair of shorts that had been left in the cottage. They weren't enough to cover the chitin that extended to just below her knees, but there wasn't a point to that anymore.
It really wasn't bad work... The weather made it pleasant, even if she'd slip a little when the waterlogged ground shifted under her weight-
Then there's a sparkle and this fish? Suddenly leaps out of the water when someone got too close to it.
Mikasa reels, jolting back from it as it flings it's self past her face. Letting out a high pitched yelp as the gravel under foot gives way and she falls back into the water...At least it was a nice day to be splashed? Not so much a nice day if you couldn't dodge the fish though.]

[A few people had mentioned it. And even with Mikasa planning on heading out to help with the new outpost. She was going to keep her word and look into helping within the city. She had a few times with little things, rebuilding after the riots when she arrived. The problems the refugees had been having seemed like a good place to start. So she'd put her name forward.
Not that Mikasa was much of a thinker. Even if she could have joined the military police.
But she had a good memory, and collecting descriptions of people seemed easy enough. Except, these two descriptions were the complete opposite. And another thing that she mentions out loud to the others investigating.]

Tataru's suffering begins
Or so that's what it seems like. There's blood on her chin and red on her shirt which is a red flag to Tataru right from the get go. Already her instincts are screaming at her to turn around and go back the way she came, but that would be exposing her back to a potential threat.
...But Mikasa was no monster (well, y'know...in the metaphorical sense) so maybe she should give her the benefit of the doubt? Or she would, if she could will her legs to move forward.]
Mikasa? Are you all right?
u-u
The antenna give another small twitch when she decides. Letting a small birdlike chirp echo out of her throat as she took a step. Just one wobbly step. Her knee crumpling under her a little, face still hidden. Then she tilts her head to peer out. One eye remained hidden, but the visible one was very different to dark grey catlike eyes she'd had the past few months. Instead it was a more solid black, small flecks of light reflecting across the hexagonal sections.
There was another thought. A very dazed, sleepy one. She knew those eyes, that face...But it's passing. Lost without spending too much time on it.]
no subject
That's a judgement Tataru can make rather clearly now, what from the way she seems to move and the way she looked at the Lalafell. Those were the eyes of a predator, of a beast watching and stalking its prey. Or so Tataru thinks. Maybe she's a bit on edge thanks to her unfortunate run in with Tendou. The last thing she needs is another strange run-in with a Monster she knows and is decently fond of.
Instinctively, Tataru begins to step back and away, not daring to take her eyes off the other girl.]
...I'll be on my way now.
This is the silliest v o r e - ing
Then she lunges, arms coming down to grab. Clinging to the tiny body, only just not landing on the Lalafell. Teeth coming down and getting a mouthful--
Of hat. That little hat is being gnawed on, maybe there's some hair pinched in the caught fabric. While the fae let out a small, breathy hiss through her rather blunt, very human teeth.]

squints at my open tabs https://images.plurk.com/1eN6nAkxk7Avli581kMGq0.png
It takes her a moment to realise that the laughing was at her. Which wasn't exactly unexpected, even Armin had given a slight giggle at her stumbling back then. What was more surprising was who was doing the laughing. So she just stared, with those big black eyes... Had one always been compound? Nope, that was a new change. But they sure made her look like a soggy puppy, not enjoying it's bath.
If the fae hadn't been moping there would have been a hiss there. Instead she just lets her head drop after staring, she deserved to be laughed at.]

Now now, let's not have a face like that. Were it me getting snogged by a fish, I should hope you'd have a chuckle at it, too.

But Mikasa blinks, eyes shifting to glance at the offered hand. Then she takes it, her already rolled up sleeves shifting to show the burn around her wrist and a small sliver of chitin at her elbow. She's pretty heavy, but it should be fine. Monsters were strong right, even on uneven ground.
But Mikasa still doesn't meet her eyes, eye-holes.]

river cleanin- OH SHIT FISH!
Sometimes it's the small things that count as victories.
It has given him some time to at least try and focus on his study in magic, something he's determined to get better at after his failure to be able to use it properly has proven something of a problem for him a few times now. He's got some words scrawled onto the palm of his hand now as he tries to memorize how to properly do some simple abjuration spells. The fact that he's walking along the river bank is actually a complete coincidence, just somewhere he ended up as he let his feet carry him forward.
In fact, he doesn't even notice Mikasa there until he hears a loud splash, and looks up with a small jolt. ]
Are you okay?
[ Followed by him charging into the water without much thought about the fact that he is, in fact, wearing shoes that are not waterproof. ]
Sougo...a good
Not that her noticing him there would have stopped her from finding the fish. Or landing on her ass in the gravel and shallow running water.
It takes a moment, her turning her head. The antenna sticking up, wiggling. Then she cranes her neck to look behind her. Of all the people she'd expected to run over, it wasn't him. He wasn't working was he? She wallowed for a moment, staring.]
Y-yeah... [She coughs.] I'm fine. I've had worse.
[That first word was probably the weakest her voice had been for a long time. Before she strengthened it. It takes her another moment to start to slowly haul herself up. Cringing slightly, wet clothes...They were bad.]
no subject
Look, Sougo has taken a couple of spills in shallow water before, and it is never fun. It means he also feels her on the soaked clothing front.
Though it isn't his first thought as he awkwardly hovers beside her, hands out ready to help her if she needs it, though she seems to be able to stand up just fine without his assistance. That's something for sure. ]
You didn't hurt yourself?
[ Even a scrape or something in water might not be great. ]
no subject
His question gets a small unamused snort.]
I landed on my ass. If I'm hurt, I can deal with it myself... [It's dry...unlike the rest of her. She was just going to make her way to the shore, away from the shifting gravel.]

Mettaton had no idea what he was really getting into, when it came to wagering two month's worth of dinners on his friend. That she was capable of eating his wallet surprised him beyond sense, and he'd be lying if he said he felt perfectly well-equipped to handle two month's worth of this. Would he claim it was worth it?
Well, aside from all of the trauma... The lack of juicy gossip... The drain on his finances... The fact that he's been really pushing himself to keep his income afloat despite his strained mental state... The impact upon even his transformation practice...
It was worth it. Completely. Mettaton learned something, even if it wasn't anything he liked. He saw her doggedly fighting for Eren, he saw this imposing wall, he saw the kinds of creatures that wandered her world and what consisted of a day for her. He saw a tenuous relationship between Eren and his own people, and what Mikasa was willing to do for him. And then, of course, there was all he saw in Eren's memory of her. Yes, Mettaton feels it was worth it, if not for the interpersonal boon.
So when she texts him, it's with a bit of a sigh that he replies. The full moon is here, and he thought he'd stay home... But that's not happening, he supposes. Not with a thrill afoot, not with plans to be made. He hasn't been nearly close to feral with all of his contact with his Bonded, although his fur darkens to midnight black every time, and he himself takes on quite an impish streak as the Sisters come out in full. Mettaton responds quickly, saying he'll be there before she knows it. He is fast, if anything.
And his presence, oddly enough, is nigh undetectable until he all but materializes before her, golden eye flinty to match a bright smile against the dark of night.]
Mikasa, darling! I'm so pleased that you'd choose to spend your full moon with me... Truly. I'm touched. It's a veritable date, between faefolk like us... If you'd like to call us that. Ha-ha.
[He's able to easily shove his money woes aside for the moment, because he is charmed to be summoned by her.]
Anything new to report on that note, by the way...? The moons.
no subject
With the frequent meetings he'd probably learn little things. Nothing serious. Just minor details he could probably pick up one. Like her preferring sweeter foods, even if she wasn't picky. That she didn't really understand science or that reading bored her.
But those things weren't relevant right now with the moons high in the sky. She didn't say much normally, but she was too hungry to even entertain at the moment. Her form wasn't really different. A bit more chitin, spreading to be visible where her sleeves were rolled up to her elbows, a faint shimmer where dust was starting to form. Her antenna seemed a bit longer than before. One eye had changed again to be compound. But otherwise, she looked the same.
His comment gets a small sigh as she dips her head in a nod.]
It's not the first time we've spent the full moon together... [When she'd contacted him to deal with 'Pufficas'. But she winces at the thought of the lizard. She still had his cloak...Thanks for the changes of topic Mtt. It makes her snort.] Wouldn't there need to be more of us to use that name?
[Then she looks up at said moons. The light reflecting off of her eyes.]
They seem brighter. I'm not sure if it's because weather is changing... [Less clouds.] Did you see the lights the other night?
[Near the end of Boaltinn, when she'd definitely been up.]
no subject
Mettaton waves off her hesitance at calling this a date. Or, of calling them faefolk. They're both related to the Fae, somehow. Mikasa's becoming one, while Puca are distantly related, the mischievous cousins of a darker persuasion. Instead, his ears bounce up at the suggestion of light.]
The light? Yes, I did. [He nods. He was up, too: evening hours have trended his favorite.] Silvery, almost... And enchanting to behold. How strange.
[But he'd also been inquiring upon her changes, of which he's able to behold for himself with more clarity. Her eye... the chitin, the antennae. But then, there's a shimmer he almost recalls from their first meeting, and his eye visibly widens at the sight of it. She's going to only grow more enticing as the months creep by, isn't she? He can hardly wait, but he keeps the thought to himself.]
Well. I was thinking... That we could have our dinner date at Dulcet. It's a bar in the Entertainment District, but they've an extensive menu packed with sweets. What do you say, sweetheart?
[The Entertainment District's a bit of a ways, though Mettaton doesn't seem to think so.]
no subject
But Mikasa was still looking up at the sky, watching the slight clouds drift by. Antenna lifting a little.] I wonder if it was something normal here. A part of the festival... [Because she'd been sort of there. Up until she'd left, with someone.
The dust only had a shimmer. It was kind of sad in a way. There wasn't a lot of colour to it, like someone had just smudged a bit of make up on her arm. There was a just a shine, instead of the shine and the bolder colours she'd taken in the first dream. That and the chitin was...slightly duller than it had been when the robun had last seen her. The mottled coffee colour had gained a cloudy overlay. The occasional line running along the surface, not quite cracking yet though.
The new name makes her head snap to him. Mettaton...]
Do I really eat sweets that often with you? [Her eyes narrowed a little. Not in anger, not if the slight red rising to her cheeks was any indication.] ...It's fine with me. I'd prefer it if you chose where we went.
[Even if he was one the losing side of this deal, she'd rather him pick. If he wanted to go for something cheap she wouldn't complain. Cheap had been her original plan, anything to keep the hunger at bay.
But with some idea of where to go. She'd slowly start walking to the Entertainment District. It wasn't the quickest path to the bar, but it was the right general direction.]

Being a Witch, in theory he should probably have more information on spellwork than Mikasa. Teleportation isn't in any of his particular areas, though, so even though he's clearly thinking on methods, it takes him a moment to land a potential cause.]
If they're always going to a particular location, I wonder if they could've enchanted something with the spell, or set it up in advance so it just needs one last touch or word to activate. Teleportation isn't my specialty, but I'd guess it would be easier if you're not trying to move a bunch of people at once.
[So they might not need the kind of setup the outpost teleporters use.]
no subject
It's not a trick or illusion. I can see through them. [A useful fae thing. Though it could have been...an experience if they'd thought they'd escaped and she could still see them.] Would it be possible for one a witch who does know teleportation to send someone through it?
...Though it'd have to be a group.
[Sending one person into a dangerous place alone could go very badly.]
no subject
Either way, though, it does put a pretty hard strike through it being an illusion, and Momo tilts his head slightly, tapping his nails against one arm.]
I don't see why it wouldn't be? Though if that person wasn't going with them, they'd need a way to recall those people. Which would probably put us back to enchantments or a premade spell.

She abandons the cup of coffee she's making and rushes over, wide-eyed and worried, pushing through the fear which rises so much more violently since she arrived in Aefenglom. ]

River cleani-aaaaaaAAA
For something like this, she can't wear the sorts of skirts and dresses she normally wears. It's probably the first time she's worn proper shorts in a good two months. She finishes it off with a tanktop and a light waterproof jacket, the sleeves pushed up to her elbows.
Wading out into the water, the river goes nearly to her waist at some parts. She has to be careful not to lose her footing. But to her surprise, she's not the one who loses it. Towa hears the splash first just in time to turn her head and see Mikasa go down.]
Huh? Wh--AAAAA!
[She doesn't see the fish until it's too late. Her instinct to reach for Mikasa to help her up has her off balance and an easy target. Sputtering, she gets up quickly but-- her hair is plastered to her face everywhere now. She... can't see anything.]
M-Mikasa? Are you okay? wh--where are you?
[DOES SHE HAVE TO DIVE DOWN AGAIN???]
10/10 she tried
Not that she gives a verbal answer to the question, she was too busy hacking up the water she'd swallowed when flailing around. Just give her a moment to cough and clear that up. After a minute she stops coughing, even if her breathing was still harsh.
Slowly, she turns her head to peer over from where she was still crouched in the water.]
I...I'm okay. [Just a bit wheezy.] W-what happened to you?
