dolly mine quest

[ Early in the evening on this particular night, if you happen to be taking a stroll nearby a certain toy store, you might happen to spot a little set-up that's been done some ways from the store on the cobblestone path. There's a table, four chairs, small little cups with saucers, and a teapot placed in the center of the table. All miniatures. If you're thinking tea party? You'd be thinking right. And who loves tea parties? Dolls love tea parties. It's a cute little set-up. How could any doll resist coming over to have some tea?

But near that little set-up is also a box. Yeah. A really BIG BOX that's tilted on an angle with a stick propping it up... angled to drop down over the little tea party and catch some dolls. How? With the near invisible string that's tied around the stick propping the up the box and runs up up up all the way to the building beside the toy store with a head peeking over the side. No, not a doll head. A vampire's head. Who, just so happens to spot someone strolling by his trap. ]

Psst! Get away from that! You'll scare the dolls off!

[ That sure is Trevor now-a-vampire-but-still-a Belmont shouting in a whisper at you. ]

[ Giving another look around, Trevor nods with the morning star whip now completely wrapped up and clipped to his belt. ]

Right. Sounds like a good idea- both counts.

[ Glancing to Alucard, he can both hear and smell the blond's blood rushing through his veins and it has Trevor step away from his bonded, a hand brushing strands of wet hair out of his face. ]

I'd say we could stay at the farmhouse until the rain stops but there's no guarantee it will before morning and I'd rather not be stuck somewhere until nightfall.

[cryptsleeper]

I think that's our only option right now. [He frowns, folding his arms over his chest.] Besides, that place can accommodate your needs. When you rise next evening, we can hoof it back to the city and make good time.

[He grumbles, pulling his coat tighter around himself.]

[quickwhip]

[ There's a huff of sorts under his breath before he raises a hand, back turning to the blond. ]

Fine. Let's go. I'm sure they won't mind us staying there what with slaying their devil and all.

[ And so, he starts heading back, boots squishing as he goes. ]

Thankfully not that far.

[cryptsleeper]

Did you have another plan then?

[Alucard's good enough to keep pace, but the reaction is...weird.]

[quickwhip]

No.

[ He still keeps going as they talk. ]

I'll stay in the barn. You stay in the farmhouse with them. Sound good?

[cryptsleeper]

[That sounds like nonsense.]

Stay in the farmhouse with me until morning?

[quickwhip]

Alucard.

[ He says his name a little firmly but keeps looking ahead, keeps going. ]

I'm a vampire. [ A beat. ] I'm thirsty.

[ To which he looks to the blond then and gestures to his red eyes. ]

Or did you not notice these?

[ NO, he can't see his eyes, but he's come to discover that they turn red when he's angry and hungry and considering there had been a lot of blood shed in that fight back there?? Yeah. ]

[cryptsleeper]

Usually those are anger mark-- [wrong vampires. He sighs, pausing to move dripping wet hair out of his eyes. The storm is absolutely miserable and his hair is making nothing better.] Wallachian rules don't apply.

[There's only one solution.]

How much do you need?

[quickwhip]

I'm not drinking animal blood.

[ He dismisses that with a wave of his hand. ]

I was just going to stay in the barn until I've calmed down. I'm not dying for blood but that fight just made my vampire stomach growl is all.

[cryptsleeper]

You can take from my wrist.

[There's a nasty squelch as Alucard's feet find a rather nasty mud puddle, and the stuff splashes up to Alucard's knees.]

[quickwhip]

[ Glancing to Alucard out of the corner of his eye, he stares to him rather curiously for a moment. ]

You sure that's a good idea? You saw what happened when I just had a lick of your blood that one time.

[cryptsleeper]

Low hunger. Low risk. Can we please talk about this when we're dried off?

[quickwhip]

Fine, fine. C'mon, slowpoke.

[ That's his cue for bending down to scoop up Alucard again. Hopefully he's fine with that??? ]

Just hold onto me.

[cryptsleeper]

I'll make you regret saying that one day.

[But let him be scooped. And let Alucard hold on, because the quicker this is done with, the better.]

At your pace, Belmont.

[quickwhip]

[ And Belmont's pace is a quick one thanks to being a vampire and all.

The trip back to the farm is a rather short one, Alucard gently set down on the steps before they take care of the whole explaining what had been done and if it's possible to stay until the storm passes. Thankfully, there isn't much in the way of prejudice for Trevor's suddenly red eyes and they're given a room to stay within downstairs at Trevor's request for a... "darker looking room" for them.

With towels and clothes laid out for them, Trevor removes his cloak and hangs it in the room, going about tugging his shirt up and over his shoulders and shaking it a bit... getting droplets of water everywhere, yeah. ]

Well. At least we won't catch a cold, right?

[cryptsleeper]

[Alucard lets himself be carried, eyes ahead. The novelty of this won't change for some time.

It's good that the farmers broker no argument, and when Alucard requests towels and something heavy for the window, the reason is understood. "Western exposure? It's cramped, mind." Alucard says it'll do, and it does. There's even a fireplace, and that's lit for them both.

Once in the room, Alucard sheds his shirt first and then snatches one of the towels, focused on his hair and getting the worst of the water out. It takes more than a minute to manage, but at least it's done. Alucard then turns attention to his lower half, toweling off his trousers.]

I hope not. Can you put the wooden board in front of the window, or do you want me to do it?

[quickwhip]

[ While Alucard is toweling off his trousers, Trevor is removing his and just stands there. Butt naked. Like it's no big deal. It's just Alucard and they're both guys?? He does, however, grab a towel and wrap it around him before he shoots a look over to the blond. ]

I can do it. I'm thirsty not dying.

[ To which he grabs said wooden board and goes about maneuvering it in front of the window, trying to find the best way to place it... towel dropping from around his waist to the floor as he does so.

Look, Alucard. It's a full moon tonight after all. ]

[cryptsleeper]

Thank you.

[Alucard's focus goes down to his boots, which are the worst thing at the moment. With a sigh he sits himself down in front of the fire, starting to undo the laces.

He looks up, curious to see where Trevor is at with the board and oh.

Alucard turns scarlet, and he immediately returns his gaze to the boots.]

You dropped your towel, Trevor.

[quickwhip]

Yeah, I can see that.

[ He mutters that while still trying to adjust the board over the window before he gives up and just sets the thing against the wall. ]

I'll do it later.

[ MAYBE. But for the moment, he reaches down to grab his towel off the floor and starts to dry himself off, turning some to face the blond before he wraps it around his waist again. And that's... when he sees it. Or so he thinks. ]

Are you... blushing?

[cryptsleeper]

[The good news is that Alucard's still wet curtain of hair covers his face. His focus remains on the boots, and one goes right off. He's working on the other when Trevor turns.]

Don't be ridiculous.

[Busted.]

[quickwhip]

[ That's sure suspicious right there. So, crossing his arms, he stares. ]

Does my being naked embarrass you?

[cryptsleeper]

Of course not.

[There! Other boot off! Alucard lifts his head, aware that there's still a faint trace of red in his cheeks. Refusing to dwell on it though, he walks right past Trevor to finish getting the sun protection up against the window.]

It was just a surprise, and I understand that people who date often like to look at each other in those parts.

[quickwhip]

[ Trevor blinks those red eyes of his that are slowly beginning to bleed back into blue. He watches for a moment as Alucard busies himself with the task of the board and... an idea hits him. Coming up behind him, he grins then as leans forward some. ]

Did ya get a good look then?

[cryptsleeper]

[Oh well that's a dangerous tone. Alucard focuses himself on getting the board where it needs to be. Peers closer to it as Trevor leans forward, and-- there. That'll do. No gaps.]

Depends. Has Sypha gotten a longer look than I have?

[quickwhip]

No... unless she's peeped on me or something.

[ She... wouldn't do that, right?? No. She's probably do it and then throw water on him if she did. Or something. But then- ]
