...wait, who prepared this poster? The vibe it gives off is totally wrong... ah, well, it will do! ♥

I. Welcome! ♥

On Feoveuer 14th regulars of DiplomaTea will immediately notice that the place looks different. Fresh flowers, garlands and paper decorations are everywhere, all in lovely shades of pink and red. Heart-shaped confetti is falling from the ceiling, magicked to disappear shortly after touching the floor so it would not make a mess. Quiet music is filling the whole cafe, one of the many masterpieces of Amadeus Mozart and a particual favorite of Marie who picked this particular song to play. Even those who have missed Marie's flyers and announcements about the upcoming event would definitely notice that something joyous is going on inside, why not check it out and join everyone?

If you haven't heard before, the posters will explain everything. Today's event, The Festival of Love celebrates the holiday known as Valentine's Day some Mirrorbound might be familiar with. This is the day to celebrate love in all shapes and forms. Spend a wonderful, romantic evening with your partner... or your friends and family, because these kinds of love are important too! Or get some sweets and eat them all by yourself, because self love is also important! All money collected during today's event will go to aid the refugees and help those who have been affected during last month - celebration of love for your fellow woman, man and everyone else.

a. Preparations ♥

Of course an event this big cannot happen without the help of many. Making and putting up the decorations, enchanting the confetti and music, building the booths, preparing the tables, all of this and much more took almost the whole previous day. Everett will also defintely need part-timers to help tending to the increased number of custoers during the event. If you visited DiplomaTea during that time, you probably couldn't enjoy your drink in peace... or maybe you were roped into helping? Marie gives you a pleading look. Every pair of hands is useful, you know!

II. The Festival of Love ♥

Kissing Booths ♥

Two hastily made but lovingly decorated wooden booths have been placed on DiplomaTea porch. For supporting the cause with a small fee of 100 cunes the person inside will gladly give you a lovely kiss... though you are, of course, welcome to throw an even bigger amount into the donation box! The Mirrorbound staff the booths in shifts so nobody will be forced to sit out the whole event and more volunteers are always welcome... come on, don't you want to support the charitable cause? Marie is quite persuasive, she might find a way to convince you even if it's not something you would have usually agreed to ♥ Or maybe your crush is currently in the booth and this is your big chance? Either way, thank you for your support, good people!

Bake Sale ♥

Are you skilled with the cooking appliances? Would you like these skills to serve a good cause? The tables just next to the main entrance of DiplomaTea have been filled with cakes, pastries and other kinds of sweets donated by Mirrorbound - help yourself to some! You have to pay for it, of course, but all the money collected helps the charitable cause! For those who are not fond of sweet things, savory and spicy snacks are also found on the table.

Did you bring a dish? Would you like to buy something? Or maybe you are just staffing the tables and helping with the bake sale itself? All kinds of help are appreciated! Are you culinarily challenged but refuse to admit it? Thank you for your donation anyway, it is going on sale! Did anyone see the Fae who donated these cupcakes? These appear to be enchanted and eating one will cause you to say the opposite what you mean for fifteen minutes. What do you mean, Marie, we are putting these on sale as well? Could it be... that Fae was... No, impossible!

Auction ♥

Want to support the cause with a bigger sum? As a part of the main event, a couple of items will be auctioned. To show their support, the Coven donated several valuables that could definitely be of use for both Witches and Monsters:
an ornate golden ring Fae-blessed to provide the wearer 12 hours of invisibility (which does not have to be used consecutively, it's 'turned on and off' by rubbing the stone set into it, and does not conceal the wearer from other Fae)
a suit set and a dress that will both transform magically to fit whatever Monster form the wearer has (and will also take on the wearer's color and design preferences)
a book on imbuing baked goods with minor luck spells - good and bad both.

It can make you give off a charming aura, perfect if you are still looking for someone to spend the evening with or trying to grab the attention of that particular person. Or maybe you are celebrating self love and just want a spell that will allow you to eat a lot of sweets without consequences tonight? Perfect! Another idea? Be sure to communicate it well, you would not want to end up with an enchanted painting that gives a different effect you originally wanted... though even if you do, the magic will only work for a few hours. You can wait that long, can you?

Magic Show ♥

Trucy Wright, one of the recent arrivals to Aefenglom is on stage and about to perform her splendid magic show! Huh, that's nothing special in Aefenglom, you might think. Magic is an everyday thing for every Witch after all. However, this young lady here is not a Witch, so how does she do it? With totally real magic, of course! Get your seats and pay close attention to everything she does, but you are not very likely to notice anything - this girl is a professional, after all. In using real magic, of course! Or maybe you have similar skills? You are welcome to join her on stage and perform your own well-practiced trick. If it's not as well-practiced as you thought... well, at least you made the audience laugh? In need of a charming assistant? Just pick someone more or less willing from the audience!

III. Cleanup ♥

Tired after a busy day? Congratulate yourself on a job well done, we managed to collect a nice sum that will certainly help a lot! But before you can rest in your bed, there's more to be done. Taking off decorations, removing the confetti enchantments, washing the dishes, collecting the trash and cleaning the whole place. We cannot leave Everett alone with this mess after he was so nice to allow the usage of DiplomaTea for today's event, can we? You can stay and help, can you? Maybe there are some leftowers from the bake sale to sweeten the deal?

[ Her first real magic show in Aefenglom. The nerves are electric and she's never done a show with quite so many improvised props before. But she has Mr. Hat, and she has her magic panties, so she has a good base for her show.

So, with a deep breath, she heads towards the makeshift stage, all smiles and well-rehearsed tricks. Oversized wooden puppets which pop out from her waist seamlessly, everything from audience items to brooms, buckets and shoes dragged from a pair of blue bloomers. ]

And now, can I have a volunteer from the audience?!

[ She's glad she managed to find a deck of cards to spice things up, but you always need someone to prove that you're not using anything shady. ]

— after all of it;

[ But she doesn't spend all night on stage. She doesn't have enough tricks for that yet, hasn't earned nearly enough money to put on something hours long yet. But eventually!

Besides, even a professional needs a break. So, once everything's done, Trucy wanders around the rest of the event, checking out the kissing booth and bake sale, all joyful smiles and bouncing. When she sees one of the salespeople, she simply has to ask; ]

[ Chise was curious about the show so once she was done exploring the baked goods, she wandered over to where the magic show was going to be. She nibbled on a cookie as she found an empty seat with a good view of the stage.

And when Trucy called out for a volunteer, Chise quickly finished her snack before raising her hand in the air. ]

Ah-ha!

[ She points the wand she made at the bonfire at the girl chewing down the last of her cookie, beaming. ]

Come on up, Miss! What's your name?

[ The redhead made sure to dust off any crumbs that might have been from her front while standing up. ]

It's Chise.

[ She made sure to avoid stepping on any toes as she walked up and on to the stage. She had no idea what to do right away so she stood rather still, arms at her side, suddenly feeling a little awkward. Is this stage fright? ]

[ No worries, Trucy here is a professional and she will do her best to ease any stage fright Chise may feel! ]

What a lovely name! [ Trucy begins shuffling her deck of cards with flair, every movement practiced and precise, speaking as she works; ] So, have you been in the city long?

[ A little bit of small talk can help take off the edge, in Trucy's professional opinion. And it stops everyone from being bored while she shuffles. Though she doesn't need too much time to get a well-shuffled deck. ]

[A magic show in the middle of a cafe full of Witches and magical creatures sounds just a little bit silly. But this doesn't seem to have dampened Momiji's enthusiasm at all: By the time the performance starts up, he's parked at a table near the front with an oversized mug of cocoa and a little plate of sweets.

So, at Trucy's request for a volunteer, there's only one appropriate response.]

Ooh, pick me, pick me!

[He chirps, literally bouncing in his seat, hand raised, to try to draw the magician's attention.]

[ Audience participation is a very important part of any good magic show, so once Trucy's finished her first card trick, she decides on a second, and is dutifully rewarded with another volunteer. ]

You're a winner! Come on up and tell us your name!

[Yesssss. Victory!

Momiji bounds from his chair and hurries over, doubtless past throngs of jealous onlookers ~~(I mean, there might be a few)~~, to bunny-hop up onto the stage.]

Aw, thanks! [He beams between Trucy and the DiplomaTea audience. Never heard of stage-fright, this one.] I'm Momiji Sohma!

What do you want me to help out with?

[ There's totally a few!!! But for now, Trucy is focused on creating a good show, serious as she holds out the cards. ]

Mr. Sohma, please shuffle the deck.

[ See, a hands off magician. She can't be rigging this in any way...

Except for the part where all magic is about rigging it correctly. ]

Oh, 'kay...!

[He nods brightly, taking the deck and starting to shuffle with a flourish. He's not expert enough at this to be too showy, but he makes up for it with speed and enthusiasm.

After the deck is extra shuffled, he holds it back out.]

Do I give it back to you, now?

[ A nod, and she's pretty impressed by his showmanship, honestly. Blue eyes glitter brightly as she takes them back. ]

Now, name two cards!

[ There's a simple version of this, but Trucy doesn't do anything quite that simple. She is, after all, the last piece of Troupe Gramarye.

... Even if she can't legally refer to that, or access the vault of tricks. ]

'Kay, um...the Jack of Hearts! And...

[Clearly he needs to think of a hard one! He's still not sure what the trick is going to be, but if he picks something obvious like the Ace of Spades it'll look way more predictable!]

Seven of Diamonds!

[ Hm, okay then! ]

Jack of Hearts and Seven of Diamonds... Interesting choices! [ Her hands clasp around the deck, trying to cover it entirely (though not quite succeeding, decks are chunky!). ] Why'd you choose those?

[ It's an innocent question, something to keep the atmosphere up while she shakes the deck in her hands. Once. Twice. Three times! ]

[ She hadn't been there to greet Trucy when she arrived, but she knew when seeing Trucy's name on the card for this event, she had to see this girl's show in person. After all, there was very much part of Ursula that was still attracted to the stage, and all the came with it, but more than that, her desire to see others shine upon it, and see the happiness it brought others.

Trucy was a practical magician, to be sure, using sleight of hand and other "tricks", not like Shiny Chariot's shows had been, but the spirit was so identical, her personality so brilliant, she couldn't help but see the spitting image of Shiny Chariot within Trucy, even if only for a moment.

... She really ought to introduce her to Akko, if they hadn't met already.

Ursula rested her cane, a silver thing adorned with red gems in the shame of the northern dipper, against the crook of her arm as she applauded Trucy coming off stage, there to greet her. ]

You were brilliant up there. A definite star.

[ It all went off without a hitch, which is truly gold when you're a performer. Maybe even more than gold, like platinum or diamond or daddy not messing up on the piano. Trucy is just as energetic when she heads off the stage as she was on it, buzzing with the adrenaline of a job well done.

And that energy carries right into seeing Ursula standing there, with a gorgeous, hecka fancy cane. ]

Why thank you!

[ The compliment brings a pink flush to her cheeks. A definite star? That's the kind of compliment she's been dreaming of hearing.

...At least from someone other than daddy and his friends. ]

What was your favourite part?

[ Mr. Hat? Her panties? The card tricks? ]

The puppet and the bloomers were definitely the highlight, but I think you were pretty amazing at everything! Your motor control, your ability to keep the audience's attention where, and when, you need it most... At your age, that's all really tremendous!

[ Ursula didn't mind gushing praise where it was due. And a born performer definitely recognized a born performer. Even if she'd given up that part of herself... ]

The magic was in the audience's smiles, for sure...

[ She is pretty proud of both of those tricks, old faithfuls that spice up any show. Thank goodness she wasn't left without either (and she thinks daddy would have a coronary if those panties went missing. Special ordered magic products don't come cheap). ]

Thank you! [ And so much detail in the praise too, the conclusion is obvious... ] You're a magician too, right?

[ Could they do a show together, maybe? ]

[ Oh no. ]

W-well, I'm a witch, yes. And I have... some experience in the performing arts.

[ No, no, she needs to be firm on this! ]

But that's really long behind me, at this point.

[ Long behind her? That sounds awful. Trucy couldn't even begin to imagine what life would be like without performing in it. ]

...Oh.

[ Maybe they shouldn't go too far down this rabbit hole. ]

What do you do now?

[ That's a safer topic, right? ]

[ Much safer! ]

I'm a teacher. I run the school for the refugee children, though right now I'm still on reduced duty while I'm recovering...

[ The grip on her cane tightened somewhat, her gaze shifting away. It probably wasn't a good idea to needle about that, either, after everything that happened prior to Trucy's arrival that she'd no doubt heard about. But the implication that the woman before her had been among the victims was left understated, not elaborated upon but still offered as truth. ]

[ A teacher who runs the school as well?! ]

Wow. You must have a lot to do.

[ She's always thought that about teachers. Sure, they give kids way too much homework ~~how is she supposed to perform, practice, help Apollo, run the Agency, do the accounts AND do homework, thanks?!~~ but then they have to mark all of it. That's a lot of work. And they probably don't wing lessons, do they?

~~Well. Maybe some teachers. Really bad ones.~~ ]

What grades do you teach?

The refugee school isn't divided into traditional years, if that's what you mean, but I supervise all of the classes.

But like I said, I'm taking on lighter duty while I recover. Though I suppose I'm itching to get back to my former schedule...

[ Huh, how interesting. She's never known a school to work that way, but as long as children are getting taught! When they're all grown up like her, they could be anything they want to be. ]

That's a sign of loving your job, or so I hear. [ She remembers coming down with a cold when she was younger, determinedly swallowing as much vitamin C as possible to try and heal up quickly and get back to her nightly shows. And how could she forget how laid back daddy was in comparison, as he sat in hospital after being hit by a car. ]
