The Room where it happens (open catch all!)
Who: Sokie and you!
When: All month
Where: All over the city and on the outskirts
What: Open starters for Sokie as she tries to be productive!
Warnings: TBA
I: Parliament
[There was a lot of listening on Sokie's part, which may have seemed unusual for those who Kew her. Usually she was chatty, filled with charm and wit- but in Parliament, she dressed in a formal business suit and took notes (and also doodled). In exiting a meeting, she paused outside of the building and took a few moments to stretch. Her butt felt sore for sitting still so long.]
My butt hurts. I guess this is why I've always turned down a desk job.
[She needed to do some yoga and have a run. And a bath.]
II: Radio Hour
[Anyone and everyone could call or text in, but Sokie would stay on voice since...well, she was on the morning hour with her radio advice show. Which was on right now, live.]
Hello dear listener, welcome to An Undertaking with Undertown. What question can I answer today?
III: Teaching Magic
[She left a notice on te boards again. It wasn't good last month, by this time...maybe She could help some of the newbies learn their magic or how to counter it.
She asked them to meet at the entry of Haven, and after some introductions, things would move on from there. Well. She got to the point really.]
So, what do you want to learn today?
IV: A different kind of practice
[It was true she had a baton, but it was the kidnapping and speaking to Sephiroth that was a wake up call. Heck, she might have even been denying it, since the snow storm.
But she found a smithy and was going through the weapons, one by one, trying to find which would suit her best. So far, nothing really caught her eye but...she found one, and lightly twirled tin in one hand.]
It feels nicer but I think I need to put this through its paces.
...hey. You wouldn't mind going for a round, right?
[Sorry curious customer and or passerby. Sokie wants a smol fite.]
V: A moment of quiet
[She was in a corner of a cafe, or maybe just in Diplomatea. As usual, there were books around her, papers of various formulae, but she seemed more interested in her tea or coffee then she was in her work. Seeing someone nearby, she made a beckoning motion with her hand.]
Don't worry, I can move my stuff. Why don't you come sit?
VI: Wildcard
All other options, including hunting outside of the city can be done here! Any questions, comments, can be directed to my discord or at my plurk!

[A small nod. It'd been...fine, mostly. Just a little surreal, after the dream.]
Ohh. Well, just don't get lost or anything. Or get sick! Everything outside the Walls is supposed to be infectious, right...? You should make sure you wear a face mask and take vitamins with you!
[Probably it wouldn't be a good idea for one of their fancy parliamentarians to come back all sick and shadowy. Though, as to that last point from Sokie, he just grins:]
Only when I have to be...!
no subject
[Even if he's curious. It's good, but still. Gotta stay safe too. Though all of it made her smile and lean down, kissing him on top of the head.]
I'll remember the vitamins. Don't worry Momiji-I've got a shield spell that keeps me completely untouchable. I quiver in fear of your scolds.
[She's saying it lightly, but well, she doesn't want to go through that, really she doesn't. No Shade life for her. Or rather. Explosion.]
no subject
[He ducks his head, letting her press that kiss into his hair and shooting a small, peached grin back up at her in reply.]
If you say so! [Magic does sound like an even better precaution than vitamins, so he supposes he's reassured. Though, on a related subject--and with a quick glance back around the smithy--he asks:]
Do you think you need a sword, if you're going to go out of the city...? Or...something to beat up Shades and bad guys, anyway?
[Asking for a friend!]
no subject
[Cheeky little thing. She can't noogie him when he's smiling up at her like that. But he does have a good question.]
It may not be a sword, but I'll need something to defend myself. I can't always turn to magic. Not just because it attracts trouble, but I only have so much of it.
no subject
[To put it in that most universal of all languages, video games. He thinks that's how it works, at least! Also, having a partner to venture out with sounds safer in a lot of other respects, but he'll just focus on raw firepower for now.]
Mm, but I dunno if those help Witches recharge faster, too? If you went really far from home-- [Shrug!] So, taking something else still makes sense.
[On that note, he pivots back to look over the weapon rack Sokie'd plucked her weapon of choice from. He's probably not really in the market for anything for himself today, but...it can't hurt to think about the possible options. After some poking he picks up a simply-crafted shortsword, bouncing its hilt's weight in his palm in the most inexpert manner imaginable. It's not as heavy as he would've thought!]
no subject
[She has her rpg party ready to go! Though technically it's only one. ]
I'm not sure if it does. Mostly it helps me from getting overcharged. As a witch, I produce all the time.
...also you're a puca. You really would be better off with a spear my lad.
[So put that back mister.]
no subject
[Meanwhile he's just going to keep playing with that sword, turning it over in his hand. The wooden hilt is just big enough relative to his grip that he's not singing his fingertips against the guard, but--yeah. Kind of obvious that he hasn't had any really bad experiences with iron yet.]
...aw, why a spear?
[He blinks. That doesn't sound as cool!]
no subject
[But she's going to gently place her fingers over his. You're going to drop it on your cute foot!]
Because it extends your reach, and it needs a strong stance. Also, you're going to accidentally nick yourself with a short sword far more often.
And that'd hurt.
no subject
[He has resolved not to let his own first Bond being non-romantic stop him from teasing everyone else relentlessly about theirs.
He pouts, though, as Sokie reaches for his hold on the sword, stopping his bouncing with it. He wasn't going to drop it! Still, after a moment, he turns his grip to offer it over to her.]
I dunno how to sword-fight or anything, but I'd know not to poke myself! ...and a spear's prob'ly way bigger, right? And if a bad guy's far away, I could just not let him catch me!
no subject
[She laughed quietly, and made to steal a forehead kiss. Sorry Momiji, she was teasing with smoochies.
And taking the sword to gently put away.]
Do you know any form of combat? Just because it can't hurt if you're caught when you're sneaking around.
And with sticks, that's why you choose what fits your body, and not a too long pole.
Or blade. If a villain knew you were a puca, you know what they'd go for first?
Your feet.
no subject
[As if he's going to do anything but perk up on tiptoes to make her job easier. Teasing is all to no avail when you're a human/puca sponge for attention!
He lets the sword go with a pleased grin and a small shake of his head.]
Kyo and the other boys in the Sohma clan all did karate, back home, but Papa let me take violin lessons, instead. But I bet you're not supposed to punch Shades, since they're infected anyway? You'd have to have really good gloves, at least!
[Still, he inclines his head thoughtfully at that last note. It had definitely been nerve-wracking, exploring the tunnels under the city with Fionn, not knowing what he'd do if they were caught in close-quarters.]
...I guess that makes sense.
no subject
[Just more cuddles! Give her a second though. Gonna take that sword away and put it back. No swords, only cuddles.
It'll make up for any bad vibes.]
Shield spells. There's a reason why it's my specialty. But no, that's a really bad idea. I'm not going to punch or kick any shadows.
And while speed is a good thing, knowing how to disarm someone is also vital.
I'm not trying to scare you. Promise.
no subject
One day he'll get over how nice it is for those to be a thing without his human body exploding into smoke, but that day is not today. So, he'll finally stop fidgeting and poking around, settling happy in with one long ear twitching.]
I know... I don't get scared that easy.
[Well, "shadow monsters" and "people trying to stab your feet" probably would have rated before, but...]
I just never thought about having to know stuff like that, before here.
no subject
But also she has no idea about the sudden transformation was once a thing in his life. Then again, she would have cuddled him anyway, turning into a bunny or not.]
Oh no? Well...I would find it scary in your shoes. Feet.
[She peered down. Is he wearing shoes?]
But...I guess you can say this is unusual information for modern times. I'm sure you were rather safe from things like that before.
Though I've no idea what your world was like. I assume one with modern plumbing.
