FARMLANDS
[ It has been a hard few weeks, it is known. No amount of distance could truly calm her paranoia and anger – but she tries. Gods, does she try. The Rathmore execution gives her a sense of satisfaction, but after that... how else can she process the healing she needs to allow herself? She flees the city, as was her word. Risking the Cwyld infection over the evil of men was a stubborn thing to do, but it helps make her feel safe. The farmlands that were her sanctuary now had quite some work to do, but it was all she had.
This is not her ideal place, there's still an awkwardness of not having high walls or pyramids to retreat to – but she makes the best of it. Daenerys promises its owner payment with her reparations to rebuild and possibly... allows herself to begin to heal.
a. River –1 Slot **FULL
Daenerys had still nightmares about what had happened to her – still consumed by an anger that feels so... natural. Was it the Targaryen in her or the dragon in her? She isn't sure, sadly.
The farm's elderly owner had suggested many things – medicinal flowers to calm her, hours of stories of the olden days, and also the location of a small river that snakes behind the farm off a beaten path one must cross to find a tree she always goes to for solitude.
Of course, Daenerys' dragon affliction made her sense to wander at an all-time high closer to the full moons. One of those sounded more pleasing than the others. So, as she ventures to the forest path behind the farmlands, she finds the river and begins to cross. It was simple enough – a small footbridge made of old wood seemingly was safe if an elderly woman could traverse to it, is it not? Each foot step careful, it couldn't anticipate the frigid temperature had rotten the wood quicker and – she doesn't realize it until it's too late. In she goes, tumbling into the river with a scream and slosh. Did you know dragons don't fare well in cold like this?
b. Travelers – Open
Days after her little accident, she has been better suited. Any cold she had received from her plunge in the cold waters was gone and instead – she finds herself being of some use. She can be seen feeding chickens and tending to the horses out in eye-sight of travelers. It was odd to find something like this calming, yet here she was – trying to deal with it. Even if Jorah was here to do it for her... she isn't a Queen here, she has to learn to survive somehow.
There was a sudden storm, however that was expected within the next hour or so. If not outside, she is inside reading books about the full moon and old children's tales passed down through the farm owner's family. Travelers who stop by and ask for some shelter until the storm passes will be met with some supplies, good company, and a somewhat light dinner. ]
CITY BUSINESS
[ Daenerys would be a fool if she believed she could survive outside of the city walls without any assistance. She weighed the stubbornness in her heart and the bitterness still fresh in her mind – she would not be deemed as a charity case to the Aefenglom government, but she will work with them. The stipend provided to her for reparations allowed her to help a farm outside of the city garner the means to sustain itself again, after all. So, she comes on a beautiful white mare into town – for business.
a. In Parliament –2 Slots **FULL
She is left with a sense of being able to speak for the fellow Mirrorbound and Dorcharcht refugees now with the Council, natural instinct to rule alone was pushed aside to ensure she works with those able to feasibly protect their kind. Isn't that what it came down to when things got tense? Us versus them? She hates that it has to be this way, her paranoia still rooted as she makes her first contact with Coven Witches to discuss business. By the time she is done, she is seen visibly having to catch her breath outside of the Parliament building – burying her own trauma of the last time she was here seeing her tormentors beheaded.
b. Market District – Open
The city was as bustling as always, but there was a caution since the Rathmores were seized and executed. Shops closed at sunset, more guards filtered through the market. That pleased her when she first arrived. It was a small change, one that put herself at ease.
Daenerys stops by a horse-keeper who made a deal with Daenerys to fit her newly acquired horse with new reigns, saddles, and horse-shoes. The horse-keeper's children was so fascinated with Drogon that she nearly becomes distracted over how much time had passed since she arrived.
She'll eventually find herself in a potions shop, picking up something for the farm's owner. She is a bit embarrassed once the shop owner proudly announces a hormonal potion used to help attract suitors. Yikes.
Finally, she'll browse through a winery, charmed by the seller's calls to passerbys to try the latest uncorked bottles. Fortunately, she does not feel compelled to drink – the last time such an occasion happened, she was nearly poisoned... So, Dany awkwardly and insistently declines. ]
WILDCARD
[ Dany will be stopping in Aefenglom for business, but will make a special stop at the refugee area in city. She'll be delivering some extra bags of goods from the farm's owner and ensuring they have been treated well. She will also offer jobs to the strong refugees who wish to find coin and housing outside of the city. Please note: for all prompts, Daenerys will be actively wearing attire that covers her missing scales on her neck, arms, waist, and thighs.
UPDATE 2/16: If your character is leaving or returning from the outpost, I'm totally down for threads with the farmlands prompt there!
If you have an idea for another wildcard, please feel free to PM me and we can hash it out! ]

City Business - Parliament
From the blood, at least one good thing must come. Seeing those around her rallying to become a part of the solution-- to be the voice that the mirrorbound have lacked up until now-- This is the closest thing to "hope" that she's felt in a long time.
She does not know what good she can do for these people, but as someone who has stood in places of leadership and been able to offer some level of organizational skill and experience, she does wish to be a part of the change that will allow them to come into their own.
But the paranoia and tension still exist. It will take time to heal, if it is possible. More so for those who've suffered.
Towa pulls Daenary's aside when it is all over with a hand on her arm.]
Thank you for your contribution. I was really relieved when I saw your name among the council members. I know you can do a lot of good, where right now there isn't much.
[She squeezes her arm fondly.]
It's going to take time for us all to really get a feel for what it is that we can accomplish-- but if you ever need it, know that you have my support one hundred percent.
[If the time came that she needed someone to stand behind her, Towa would do so gladly. She trusted this woman-- more than most that she'd met from worlds other than her own. And she still owed her a great deal, in her mind, for the strength and friendship that she'd offered her.]
But while we think on that-- would you like to have some tea with me?
no subject
She is no Queen to these people, but she is their ally until they can find as way home.
Towa catches her promptly, her spirits at least better. The closeness was greeted with a small smile, her hand on Towa's tenderly giving a squeeze shortly after. ]
My lady. [ Precious, sweet – she was gentle in her words. ] Your faith in me is undeserved thus far... I hope I earn it one day.
[ She wants to do good here, after all. ]
It would be my honor. I haven't had a thing to eat or drink since arriving. My nerves have been a bundle since coming back into the city.
no subject
But Daenarys is a woman as any other here, but she still chooses to act with the heart and responsibility of a Queen. Whether she believes so or not, she has earned that trust-- at least, from Towa, as far as she is concerned.]
Not at all. You've pushed yourself really hard today. I think we all feel a little lost right now. Even now, with this, I can't help but wonder what will come of our attempts to even the playing field.
[There are others of greater mind than her that would be able to see the bigger picture more clearly, she thinks, but she can't let it stop her from trying. At the very least, to support those she believes can do a lot of good.]
That's all the more reason to rest ourselves, in the moments when we can.
[Speaking of returning to the city though--]
Which reminds me-- I'd love to hear all about your new home.
no subject
If we settle in the events of the past, we will stray from the path we wish to walk. Lingering on it will only make us lost.
[ There's a sigh of frustration hidden with a clearing of her throat. ]
We play their games and will learn to play them better, that is all.
[ There's confidence there, one that lives up and wishes to surprise those who doubt her. As much as she may hate dealing with lingering inferiority issues, she knows challenging fate was in her nature. ]
...Oh, it's – [ And she fumbles, though. ] It is nothing quite exciting or impressive, I assure you. Very few find farmlands to be a marvel.

river! let's assume sometime around the wilders expedition
Still, he does stick somewhat close to the Wilders, just in case, despite his natural inclination to keep a distance. He isn't completely lacking in self-preservation skills, after all. Just mostly.
It goes more or less fine until the group is walking along the river, and suddenly there's that scream and splash, and Qrow's head jerks toward the bridge as she falls. It's not his fault. He knows for a fact that it cannot be, that something has sealed up his Aura and his Semblance alongside it but he is so, so used to being the source of suffering all around him that there's guilt in his heart immediately, and it's hard to say whether it's that or longterm Huntsman instinct that has him in the frigid waters, Harbinger tossed aside alongside his cape, before he even knows it.
He surfaces with an arm around her, treading water as he grasps for the nearest branch to resist the current. Now to just figure out how best to get them both to shore.]
You okay?
no subject
It happens in what feels like a century – but reality returns to her when air fills her lungs and Qrow brings them both to the surface. Coughing frantically, her teeth chatter and words bubble out – ]
Ser – Ser, we have to – [ Get out. Get ashore. Get warm? She fumbles on what she means but tries her best to snatch onto anything she can. Nails sharpened to talons do little to grasp onto the moss covered stones, but she barely keeps her head above water to help further. Whatcha gonna do Qrow? ]
no subject
Where Daenerys panics, Qrow is steady. His grip is firm, and his tone doesn't waver.]
Easy, I've got you. Can you get your arms around my waist? I'm going to let go so I can pull us up.
no subject
It was faith in this... somewhat stranger that will save them, but Daenerys still feels her heart leaping to her throat. Her legs try and fumble against any rockbed she can feel for under them but nearly slips – she resides herself to holding onto his waist firmer, then. The last thing she needs is to snare him further into the rushing water as well. ]

[Nonetheless, by the time it's over, he's thoroughly done. The whole process felt like being in the mouth of a lion, and he's escaping between a gap in its front teeth. It will get better, he tells himself; it will get easier. They will establish themselves, gain credibility. This will become their place, once all is said and done, not the Coven's.]
[When he sees Daenerys, he considers moving along. Not out of a lack of sympathy, but because if it were him, he probably wouldn't want to be looked at, let alone spoken to. But he should leave the choice of telling him to fuck off to her, he supposes.]
[When he comes to lean against the wall a few feet to one side of her, it's without making eye contact; he stares straight ahead.]
Stuffy in there, isn't it? [Mmhm.]
no subject
She speaks her peace without mincing words, she shows her hand far too quickly because of emotion so raw.
His words catch her and she barely misses a step. ]
Such always is in such matters, I'm afraid.
travelers
there's a woman tending to her chickens nearby. a finger sweeps against the soil. ]
...The wind's picking up. I think there's a storm coming.
[ nier lifts his head up to look towards her. ]
You have a good harvest coming up. It shouldn't go to waste.
no subject
Dany does what she can, although she does not like it most days. It feels mundane, she feels restless. A Queen to a farmhand? There's a joke there somewhere, she's sure.
Nier's voice catches her off guard and the stranger traveling was not uncommon — many had come before him for a bite or directions, so she greets him with a solemn nod. ]
They pray for better crops and they get them. Fate is kind, but who knows how long it'll last.
[ A small, welcomed smile follows. ]
no subject
If you have spare cloth, we can protect them. A burlap sack, twine, wood for a frame — that’s all you need to get the job done.
[ his hands come to his hips, and an amiable smile plays along his lips. ]
No use in praying when you can get the job done yourself. I like these guys. I don’t want to see anything bad happen to them.

market district - potions shop
[Near's small frame is currently wrapped from head to toe in warm clothing, including several scarves that cover most of his head. It isn't enough. As the full moon had risen his blood had gone cold. As far as he knew this was the only change so far, but in this frigid weather that's hard enough to deal with.
A coat can't trap in warmth if his body isn't warm to begin with, so he'd been sure to sit a while by the fire before wrapping himself up. This way his clothing could trap in some of the heat from his skin. Unfortunately that only lasts for so long.
He has his arms crossed tightly over his chest as he huddles in on himself and he has no problem interrupting the shopkeeper's hormonal potion advertising.]
Something that's safe for the skin, preferably.
[Otherwise he's going to have to get something enchanted - or stay indoors. He can already feel himself getting sluggish when he goes out into the chill.
He gives the woman a brief look, but isn't at all apologetic for the interruption.]
no subject
Near's question earns the shop keep to scurry to the back to hunt for something, an offended look on Daenerys' features before she looks down. ]
Potions are not your best choice. [ She says with a dull, not entirely friendly tone. ] They do not last long.
no subject
It wouldn't need to last long. It would just need to be an option.
[This is one more puzzle to solve, and he has to come at it from every possible angle. If there are magical solutions to be had he wants to keep them on hand. Finding alternative heating options is a must and this isn't a situation where he's always going to be able to rely on others to provide for him.
Part of him might also be attracted to the idea of collecting various heat sources, but that's a problem for another time.]
Are you not also cold-blooded? [He asks this as he notes her scales.]

travelers!
What (or rather who) he finds surprises him: Daenerys, enrobed in high-collared clothes, the plait of her silver-blond hair catching in the heightened wind. Though Asura has, many a time, taken up work on behalf of Aefenglom's farmers (from simple matters of removing garden pests to the culling of Shades and their ilk), he cannot say he has paid visit to this particular location before, and to see Daenerys here feels like more than some simple coincidence.
Adjusting the pack which rests atop his shoulder, he lifts a gold-taloned hand high over his head, calling out to her as he approaches from a distance, his voice rolling no differently from the distant peals of thunder: ] I can scarcely believe my eyes.
[ His grin is easy, as he bridges the distance between them, certainly worn from his days spent in the Wilde's depths (perfectly riotous, the ravendark curls of his hair; thoroughly muddied, his boots and raiments), but untroubled for it. ]
No sooner did I allow thoughts of refuge to cross my mind, you, Daenerys, caught my line of sight. [ An an arm's reach away, he gives pause in his step, voice lowered now that there is no great space parting them: ] Do you know who it is I must speak with in order to barter for shelter from this storm?
[ The one which...! Is starting right about now, the mist turning into full-fledged droplets of rain, threatening to downpour. ]
no subject
She had done precious little truthfully, not anything as productive as the workers who find their bellies full and their own safety here — but when Asura catches her attention, she ceases and feels her heart twist at the sight. The storm incoming was less of a concern as she gathers some of the buckets of chicken feed to put onto the porch. ]
It seems fate is kind to us both — you for safety and I for company. I hope you've outran the rain.
[ She motions for him closer, some warmth on her features where anger and bitterness once held. Where sorrow washed over. She calls him forth where covering offers security — the fire already beginning to bellow smoke from its chimney of the moderate, old farmhouse. ]
Come, Lady Edre welcomes travelers more than Shades. She will not turn you away.
no subject
The near miss of the rain has a sporting grin crossing Asura's features, one of his taloned hands outstretched as he leans forward, catching raindrops in the cup of his hand. In truth, the King would have liked to make the trek back to he city while in the thick of the storm (cloudbursts like this one are so often the last, triumphant hurrahs! of his season, and their power is to marveled at and enjoyed), but he is not yet fully recovered from the time he'd spent in the Rathmore's vile pit of stone, and will not squander what fortitude he does possess (strength and health, restored to him by Sokie's expert spellcraft) on a reckless challenge to the elements themselves.
There will always be time for as much later, after all (and how he will revel in the contest, when the time is right!). Right now, what is important is this: ]
But perhaps there's no such thing as a stranger in the face of a storm. [ This, both he and Daenerys had learned together when they had spoken of stories, wrath, and justice in whispers gone unheard by all others. ] Still...
Lady Edre must know that my hands will not remain idle during my stay. [ Withdrawing his hand from the rain, Asura sets his sights upon the farmhouse instead, appraising its construction. ] Old as this farmhouse is, I'd be be amazed if something weren't in need of repair.
[ And finally, his focus fixes upon Daenerys in the form of sidelong glance, vivid with alacrity and keen with interest: ] Maybe, you know where to start?

City business- Winery
[Caren did enjoy drinking wine from time to time- but she was mostly looking for a bottle that she could use for her cooking. That, or a nice champagne would be nice, though she doubted she could find the latter.
Still, it was mildly surprising, possibly even awkward since well...she had more or less approached the Dragon Queen for a distraction of sorts.
Instead, she was gently surprised to see her, and it showed in her face-if not the rest of her. From the neck down, Caren was covered, including gloves.
It was difficult to say if it was to hide the healing process or if she was simply trying not to catch a chill.]
This is a surprise. I didn't think I would see you so soon.
no subject
It was no surprise she was picked out, coerced with the promise of the freshest wares from their neighboring cities. Daenerys was ready to raise her voice at the merchant when Caren provides a way out — a nod as a goodbye before adverting her eyes to the girl. ]
I wished not to be here so soon, [ She admits softly. ] but there was reasons for my visit. How... how have you been?
no subject
Caren offered a little bow of her head to the merchant, before moving to stand by the other woman's side.]
Work, I assume. We can go to a tea house, if you'd like. There's a nice one nearby. Or we can rest at my place.
[Or try to. Such a problem with living with rowdy boys.]
I've been...recovering. Some days are easier then others. And how have you been?

farmlands
After a long flight, they check on the forge, just to make sure everything is still tidy in his and Percy's absence, and then start back on foot, just enjoying the walk. It's completely by coincidence that they happen to pass by a particular farm, even more so that they spot Daenerys across the grass, tending to some horses.
It's not the strangest thing Hiccup's ever seen, but it is unexpected. He calls out, waving his arm over his head to get her attention,] Queen Daenerys! Hey! [They've got plenty of time to get back before dinner. A little detour to catch up with a friend won't hurt.]
no subject
Drogon had perched upon barrel in which Dany set her tools to – in front of the barn and visible nicely from the roadways. Her goal was to keep an eye out for any travelers before they walked up to the farmhouse, Lady Edre needn't worry herself with visitors currently.
Hiccup, however, was a welcomed surprise. He calls out and she's quick to give a slow and poised wave in return. ]
Good afternoon, ser! [ And dragon, because hello of course. Drogon's wings flap and a high-pitched screech leaves her having to set down the brush in her hand and pap at his back. ] It's good to see you – it feels as if it has been some time.
no subject
With everything going on, it's been hard to make the time to- [He glances from the horse to her, then down at Drogon.] What- What are you doing all the way out here, anyway? Not that I'm not- you know, happy to see you, because I am, I just didn't expect to see you here.
Is this- do you have horses now?
