But instead, Sora lets out a sudden burst of laughter as those fingers attack his sides in a fit of tickles. Sora suddenly flails and squirms widely as he tries to fight off Vanitas' fingers while being totally unable to hold in his breathless laughing.]

Ahh-! Hahah! Wait-! Stop! Ahahahah! Aaaahhh!!

Just take it. It's your punishment for being so cheeky!

[ Which means Vanitas is going to sit on Sora to stop all that squirming. But he's going to continue to "punish" this brat for being so arrogant! ]

[Sora is extremely ticklish and it's one of his greatest weaknesses! He practically forgets the proper use of his limbs and flails and kicks his feet under Vanitas' weight!]

Ahahah! Ahhhhhhhhhh--!!! Vanitas!

[Another breathless puff of uncontrollable laughter and Sora's face is beat red. He can't even form another proper sentence like this. He's a noodle!]

It's fine though. When Sora is beet red and out of breath, he relents. He sits there, arms folded over his chest and looking smug. ]

[Sora is a gasping mess underneath Vanitas, cheeks red and breath heaving. His fingers twitch and in most cases, he might have tossed a random spell at Vanitas out of sheer force of ticklish surprise but all he can do here is glower.

Sora pouts and squirms lightly. Warm. Warm.]

[ Oh wow. What a look on that face! It's so very close to Van's own. Not quite as disgusted, but it's something different than a grin.

...Which Vanitas is doing. Sora can probably start to feel a little bit of magic in the air. Vanitas is likely going to cast some sort of spell. ]

[Is it wise to resist Vanitas when he's sitting on him like this, hip to hip and staring down at Sora? It's probably not wise at all.

[Sora reaches for Vanitas' hands if only to grab them so he doesn't get tickled again despite the flicker of magic he suddenly feels.]

[ He is, of course, sort of oblivious to everything else at this point. Nothing really registers beyond Sora's stubbornness and irritation. This isn't really an expression Vanitas is accustomed to on the kid's face either. So of course he has to push things a little.

Van isn't even deterred when Sora snatches up his hands. ]

I suppose it is true. Out of everyone, you do annoy me the least.

[ If only because Sora doesn't expect Vanitas to be anything other than Vanitas. There are no expectations or desires to "make things right" nor some belief that "kindness" will be enough to change him. There's just this... And Sora might be able to pick up on it, but he's actually. Having fun? Like this? ]

[ Careful, Sora. Those hands are about to start getting cold. Van's definitely using ice magic. ]

[There is something particularly normal-ish to what's happening right now. Two boys being rowdy in the middle of the night instead of sleeping. It reminds Sora of some easier times in his life. And that flicker of Vanitas' emotions makes something warm in his heart. Even with Vanitas' off-hand 'compliments' that he says with such a smug face. Gosh.]

I guess I'll take that as a Vanitas-style compliment.

[Sora lets out another puff of laughter but this time it's not because of the onslaught of tickling fingers. His skin feels a little warm--

But as soon as those hands start to get cold??]

[He's going to struggle properly now, attempting to push Vanitas back and climb ontop of him instead.]

[ It is surprisingly normal. Vanitas doesn't realize this, of course. Truthfully he is just going with what suits him. ...Though he doesn't know when the irritation he had felt at Sora's little stubborn nudge melt away and turn into something else. This feels about the same as when he and Mira and the old man had been playing in the snow. ]

Take it however you like.

[ He isn't the boss of Sora. But of course if Sora wants to topple Van over, he's going to have to work for it. Vanitas isn't giving up his position without a fight! ]

Got to use what you got, you know. And I've got magic.

[It really is this mixture of playful irritation and rowdiness that makes Sora happy and flutter as he tries to push and pull at Vanitas' hands. He huffs and pushes at him with some more strength to try and topple him over and pivot his hips.]

Get your fat butt off me!

[He laughs and pushes but really he doesn't have much now that his magic and skills are gone. Monster strength will come with time and hopefully, then he'll be able to pin Vanitas down all he wants.]

[ Sora might be able to push Van over just because of that comment. It catches him off guard. ]

[Reverse pin! Sora lets out a yelp of triumph as he clears the push and still holds those hands.]

Hah! Pinned you!

[ If this had been four months ago? Vanitas would have freaked out. Instead there's only a little panic rising. He huffs and tries to push Sora off. ]

Okay. Yeah you got me. Now get off.

[It's a fun moment in Sora's opinion. Play fighting is always fun to him. But at least their bond seems to be strong enough at the moment that Sora can sense that flicker of panic so he lets Vanitas push him off. He flops next to the other boy in a heap, a little closer than he was settled before.]

[Just.... making that clear.]

[ It... Actually does feel good. Or at least Vanitas doesn't mind it at all. He yawns though, even as Sora is closer than before. But since Sora seems to have understood the situation and removed himself, Vanitas can immediately calm down. ]

[He grins and then settles down in his spot with a wiggle.]

We should probably get back to sleep.
