[the shoe is gone and ven only glances at coill when he takes it, his attention more focused on dia's hands touching at his scar. the way he looks up at dia it almost seems like he completely understands him...

ven raises a paw again to set against dia's wrist and tilts his head.]

Either way, you-

[Several emotions fly by in mere moments. First, a burst of almost childlike glee as the dog puts its paw over his hand-it's cute and he's not ashamed to admit it- and then, out of nowhere, the unexpected sequel. Stunned silence. Diarmuid stares at the dog for a few moments, bewildered.

It's not really unusual for animals to talk here given the nature of some of the residents but still.]

... oh. My apologies, sir.
