[If anyone knows the residents of the house, it might seem strange that such a group have selected a cozy abode for their home in the city. However, it is not to be said that they are unwelcoming (depending on who) and usually when someone comes to visit, there's always a warm cup of tea ready for them...and maybe some food to go along with it. Feels like a crime if someone doesn't get fed. And despite the hardships of the previous month, the house does welcome guests for any particular reasons whether a visit for the soul, a chat to catch up on events, or even maybe go a few rounds with the poor striking dummy in the backyard.

When you live with sword users and have stress, it gets used, ok?

It might be chilly outside but strange enough, the house itself is pretty warm. Just mind the gaelkitten and Flood running around from time to time.]

[ Hey Emet-Selch deserves this anyway. He needs more light in his life same as Vanitas, right? Besides he'll deserve this for saying that he could "see it" when Rose is to list the ways they physically and not so physically resemble each other.

The question, however, merits another laugh. This time it's one the Ascian is more accustomed to. ]

[He does not need anymore Light, he is extremely anti-Light, it's very unhealthy for him.

And this is just proving Rose's point, Van. It's not as though Emet-Selch wouldn't have done the same thing, were their positions reversed.]

[ Too bad. Once the brat gets his little fingers hooked there is no escape. None.

But no. Vanitas doesn't expect that the Ascian would act any differently. Maybe he is proving Rose's point, but hasn't Emet-Selch already just decided to go with the flow when it comes to his own Warriors?

However the comment comes right as Vanitas is taking a drink. Now there's hot chocolate spraying from his mouth as he starts to choke from shock. ]

[More of a reaction than he expected, and that was satisfying. Not laughing now, are you Van?

The Ascian doesn't even say anything, settling for just looking incredibly smug.]

[ After a bit of coughing and trying to clear out his airways, Vanitas looks up towards the Ascian. Half glaring. ]

Yeah well. I guess "daddy dearest" isn't the best of influences.

[Sorry, Vanitas, he wasn't bothered by Rose's insightful observation, so he's not offended by the returned 'endearment'. So he only shrugs, still smirking.]

Oh, I already know that. How many children do you think I've sired over the years?

[Is this a conversation you really want to have, Van?]

[ Aww. That's not very much fun at all. Vanitas rolls his eyes... But c'mon. Emet-Selch, you know damn well how curious Vanitas is. How can he not ask? ]

[Which gets a small head-tilt and mild surprise; he hadn't expected him to ask. Not that he minds explaining.]

Fathered children. This host in particular produced one- who was nothing like you, I have to say.

[Which, honestly, is a point in Vanitas' favor (not that he considered Van as related to him in the first place). But. He hadn't disliked that son. But he was dead, and Emet-Selch very much preferred to not be reminded of him.]

[ Of course Emet-Selch doesn't like to be remotely reminded of any of his losses, him? ]

So... You being the person that you are, hating mortals and all? Decided to make more of them?

[ See how that doesn't quite make sense to Van? ]

[It was hardly a loss. Just another mortal, in the end. The way he despised his grandson for daring to look like him was unrelated.]

I created empires, dynasties. Plans longer than a single mortal's lifespan. Occasionally that requires an heir.

[Though he does agree there's a certain irony in someone who is distinctly anti-mortal helping to create more of them.]

[ Ah, but is it really so unrelated? Really? ]

Heirs don't necessarily need to be by blood.

[ So yes, it is very ironic. Maybe Emet-Selch just enjoyed the act of the creation of a child fun? ]

[That's exactly why he'll never bring up that moment of weakness to anyone, especially not Vanitas.]

And sometimes they weren't. But, sometimes it was necessary, or came about as a consequence of marriage.

[More indifferent than fun, really; just another part of whatever role he was playing.]

[ Oh Vanitas won't pry into all of that. He isn't that invested. ]

So what. You make yourself an heir and when your current vessel dies you'd just hop into them instead?

[ That would make sense at least? ]

They're raised to be useful to my goals, so it's not necessary. They'll act as desired. No, unless matters are particularly urgent, when one host dies, I just nap for a few years; 'tis the only break I receive.

[ He knows how much napping the guy already does. But years. Vanitas snorts, muttering: ]

[ After that, Vanitas rolls his eyes. ]

Some job. No vacation time. All work and no play...

[He can only shrug at that, though the mention of Ventus, he does remember one thing.]

--Ah, yes. I did run into your lighter half during my captivity. He was much as you described.

[ Vanitas hums, not really surprised to hear this at all. ]

I figured you might have run into each other. When I was with the other two, I spotted him there as well.
