[ Whoever had said 'don't go borrowing trouble' had been a smart guy, a wise man indeed, but the thing about being told you could potentially learn to transform yourself into a totally rad magic animal was that Majima wanted to do it immediately. So it was a quiet day in the Haven, sure -- up until, with a brilliant burst of magical fireworks, a giant, six-foot tall feathery menace descended upon one of the courtyards, stalking through the garden. ]
Fuck.
[ Someone get an adult. ]
B: Runetchers
[ Majima looked up when the shop door opened. It was a slow day, which meant he'd been making progress with the pile of scrolls and other orders for enchanted items. It also meant that his fingers were cramped, and a little distraction couldn't hurt. ]
Hi there, welcome to Runetchers.
[ He stood, gave the potential customer a little bow in a show of impeccable good manners. ]
Are you lookin' for anything in particular?
Research Required (For Justine)
Oh, I... yeah. Is there any way we could skip that part?
[ Apparently, no one had told Majima that this particular research was going to require Bonding. Hey, don't get him wrong -- connections were important, and so was emotional support? But getting himself magically attached to someone when he still hadn't made peace with the idea of sticking around long-term didn't really strike him as the best of ideas.
...especially since he wasn't sure if he wanted to get un- magically attached. He looked around for a friendly face, wondering how the hell he was going to bullshit his way out of this one. ]
Pastoral Pursuit (For Iramaat)
Hey, uh. For what it's worth, I'm sorry about your ears.
[ Look, maybe while they were wandering out into the woods looking for some stray sheep was not the best time to bring this up? But hey, Iramaat's ears had been kind of cool, and she knew how to nab foxes, and Majima knew if he'd had to give up one of his favorite features, he'd be pretty pissed about it.
With no outward signs of change, it was fairly obvious what side of the monster-witch coin that Majima had ended up on. He climbed over a fallen tree trunk, careful not to stave in its soft trunk. ]

Feel free to hit me up viaTetradecimal or PM for plotting!

Ah; a sort of—a sort of directed chaos. I expect that should be quite complex to achieve, particularly if it is intended to be truly...
One might mimic such an effect, but in truth be limited to a number of suggestions, and perhaps to a pattern of release. ( this is more speculative than confidently asserted fact; petrana feeling her way through foreign magical theory with the verve of a new convert to her own. few are ever as passionate as the converted, and the few who are tend to be at minimum a little unsettling. )

[ But that could be said of many things, really. ]
Ya seem very interested in magical theory. Was it somethin' ya studied back home?

( it's so easy to slip into the past tense for that life; to throw herself into this one, and not look back. to reinvent herself is not a new thing, and she thinks perhaps that puts her in a better position than some. an easier one, at least.
malleable.
perhaps she should miss it more. )

[ Lucky for him, he had nothing to unlearn! Or was that unlucky?
Either way, he caught at the edge of a scroll about to wriggle its way off the table, and wrote a quick few symbols on it. ]

( and if she is not a witch, then she must be...ah. there are some visible differences about her, since the last time they saw one another; before her ears did not draw up into small, fine points, tear-drop shaped. there was no suspicious sparkle at her wrists, which could be cosmetic but isn't likely to be. and is she...shorter?
she's very small to begin with. it's hard to say. )
On a more theoretical level, it's— ( she laughs, quiet. many of her reactions are this way; a little muted, as if she's in the habit of curtailing them. ) It's also difficult to say. A rediscovered discipline is not an adequately, academically dissected discipline. But I believe I have sufficient grounding to intelligently engage with it all.
( speaking of, a little lean towards what he's doing— ) What are those, please?

[ It was sort of hard to say, wasn't it? And if she didn't want to discuss specifics, well... monsters had a lot to deal with without having to worry about prying questions. ]
Tracking charms.
[ He picked one up, which had remained untouched. It squiggled in his grip as a ferret or mouse might. ]
They're keen on seeking, but until they're finished, they don't really have a set person or thing to find. Makes 'em restless.
