[ There's only so long Asahi can dawdle on this before she's just making things harder on herself than she ought to, huh. With every single passing full moon she can feel her nerves growing worse and worse, worrying about whether she's going to end up losing it for real. And with friends reminding her of her lack of a bond in recent conversations, she really figures she ought to at least try.

And she does remember Flat suggesting trying it out with him back at the masquerade. Does she feel awkward for having waited so long before contacting him about it? Sure. It's hard to read just how ashamed and flustered she is over the text message she sent him, asking him to meet up to try out the temporary bonding potion.

She chose a meeting spot somewhere near where she lives, just so it's harder for herself to find excuses to not come out there when it's so close nearby. At the very least she does make sure to wait there ahead of their meeting time, since she figures she's already caused him enough inconvenience to not make him have to wait on top of it.

The winged girl sure looks mighty nervous though. It's super obvious. She's practically nervously hopping from foot to foot as she stands there waiting, looking around to see if she can spot the boy. ]

[ flat doesn’t mind waiting.

truth be told, he half expected her to have found someone else, someone that was more suited to her personality rather than a stranger that randomly offered. and yet when he gets that text message, he can’t help but smile a tad. he’s rather happy to know that she chose him, if only for a while!

so of course he takes his bonding potions in a bag, making his way towards the direction provided. and it isn’t too hard to look for a harpy either—just look for wings!

he smiles at her, approaching without any hesitation. ]

Asahi! Merry Christmas!

[ The difference between them is almost comical. Asahi is dying of nerves over here, but when she hears her name and looks in the direction it's coming from, she can spot Flat there with that smile on his face. And saying merry Christmas in a place like this where they don't even seem to have heard of it.

She's stuck midway between feeling dumb for being so nervous when he clearly isn't and feeling slightly more reassured by him looking like that. ]

.. Hey. [ It's why despite her own reply sounding a little more muted, she still smiles a little. ] Merry Christmas to you too. Or..

[ She waves a hand dismissively. ]

.. you know. Whatever they celebrate here.

Modranicht! But that’s just their version of Christmas—and Christmas itself originated from a pagan holiday, too, so it’s all the same.

[ flat continues talking while looking like he doesn’t have a care in the world. partially due to his inability to read the mood and because that is also just how he is. he’ll shine bright enough for the two of them, that’s for sure. ]

Did you get any good presents? I thought about bringing you one but the call was so sudden that I didn’t really know what to get! [ he laughs sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. ] Sorry about that!

Huh? [ Honestly, it's actually pretty nice that he has enough brightness for both of them, considering Asahi sucks at bringing that into the conversation except for with a few very specific people. But when he talks on and starts about presents, she starts looking almost comically surprised. Her jaw drops open and all. ]

What-- You don't have to apologize for that! I mean, I didn't think about bringing you one at all! [ Which is the truth, but she seems to realise how stupidly blunt that sounded about two seconds after it leaves her mouth. ] I mean, I haven't really gotten presents for anyone.

[ Since she sucks at forming friendships. ]

Just.. you showing up here is fine by itself. I was worried you didn't want to do this anymore since I took such a long time.

Hehe..

[ flat laughs softly at her awkwardness. clearly, he's making fun of her, but there's no real malice behind it. he finds it endearing in a way. ]

Well, we're here aren't we? And this-- [ he takes out the potion that he got from waver ] is just going to last a few hours, so it won't be too much out of your day. I'm sure you must be really busy, after all!

Probably not as busy as you think. [ She tries to keep her tone light as she says that though, trying to make it sound a little bit more like a joke. (Although it's the truth. Mostly. She kind of cleared her schedule for today since she was too antsy to focus on anything but this.) ]

But a few hours sounds just perfect to see what it's like. [ Asahi tucks some hair behind her ear. ] .. It's not weird if I'm kind of nervous though, right? I mean, don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with you personally! I just have no clue what this whole bond thing is going to feel like.
