[ Located past the fanciest manor houses is something a little more modest. The most prominent thing one would notice about it is the front yard, which someone obviously spends some time in, though the cutting of certain bushes is a little close to amateur. More importantly, it looks a little messy but very inviting, and there's almost always the smell of something warm and delicious coming from inside the house. The lush and flowering garden in the back has a recently-scrubbed fountain and running water, as well as a near-permanent host of small birds. Is it magic? Probably. Most of the flowers are roses, though, which are a bit hardier than your usual flowers.
The interior is just as cozy, with a fire in the hearth that's almost always going, and plenty of books loaned or purchased from shops. Furnishings are occasionally sparse but the kitchen is fully-stocked, as is the family room where most people spend their time. The dining table exists and it's nothing fancy, but there's almost always a smorgasbord of fruit and other snacks left out for visitors.
New this month are tiny sigils drawn in faintly glowing paint along the windows and doors. Teleportation wards are in place, as well as soundproofing for each bedroom (ahem), so anyone teleporting directly inside the house will find themselves repelled.
There is a spare housekey under the mat, though, if someone gets locked out. ]
because it feels like a running joke that they see each other when he naps
[Come for a visit, find the guy sleeping under a tree. Mira puts her hands on her hips, shaking her head at the sight. But alas, she cannot find herself to flick him as a wake up call. Instead, she sets the shears further away in a safe position and sits down right next to him.]
I did not realize you enjoyed sleeping when there is a chill. Would you not prefer somewhere warmer?
[Could he hear her? Maybe he really is fast asleep...]
no subject
M-- Mira! I did not-- that is, I did not intend to fall asleep, but it appears you have found me once again.
[And with his garden shears nearby, no less. He sighs to himself and shifts so he can pick them up, then he wraps them and places them safely inside his robes.]
I suppose my exhaustion betrays my age.

'Twas the same when we had come into this star. You must try and procure better habits for rest, I'm afraid.
[There's a hint of teasing in her voice but honestly, when the damn dark knight is lecturing you on self care, you dun goofed.]
no subject
I fear it has always been a terrible habit of mine to fall asleep beneath trees.
[The Exarch brushes himself off.]
Regardless, I do appreciate your concern. My health has been fair despite everything-- I only hope you have been fair, as well.
no subject
[Emet's heavy, just saying.]
But 'tis nothing that I could not handle.
no subject
I cannot imagine you are winded easily, strong as you are.
[He glances toward the back door.]
Ah! I should have invited you inside minutes ago. Pray forgive my rudeness. Are you hungry? Thirsty, mayhap?
[He should definitely get inside before he's tempted to take another nap, as he might find himself at the bottom of a river or something.]
no subject
Easily, no. But there are exceptions such as being caught off guard.
[Find himself in a river? Oh no, Mira's not the type to throw him in but she would carry him if he fell asleep outside again. But if he is offering...]
Hmm, I would not say no to some tea if you have any.
no subject
Ah... I suppose you have endured a few ambushes in your time.
[He leads her inside, and waits to shut the door behind her. It won't do to let in the cold.]
What manner of host would not have tea? I imagine as someone from Ishgard, you would also have a fair fondness for hot drinks; I would be remiss if I did not keep some.
[He fills up a kettle with water and places it on the stove. It's a peculiar contraption, to be sure, but nothing he hasn't seen before in the Crystarium. While it starts to heat up, he fetches some teacups. But as he goes to reach for the sugar, he finds it's... been shoved to the back of the cupboard.
Ah. Right.
Damn you Emet-Selch.
He'll just... casually stand on his tiptoes for this.]
Do you prefer-- [HRNGHH] -- black tea or green tea? [Don't mind him standing on one foot to reach, this is normal.]
no subject
Anything to keep the chill away and I would be content, nor am I picky on the flavors. As long as the tea is good, I shan't complain.
[Oof, poor guy.]
Would you...like me to try?
