[closed] and when the moon washes away
Who: Zack Fair & Aqua
When: After the moon mist has called down, before November starts
Where: Residential District
What: After making an ass of himself while feral under the moon mist, Zack has some apologies to make. Apparently Aqua wants to make them too.
Warnings: tba
[The moon mist had left Zack doing some pretty questionable things to a lot of people close to him. He never felt that antsy and heated before and for the most part he made a giant ass of himself with the way he acted. The moon had made him over-protective and assertive and in some cases even needy. And it was embarrassing waking up sore and beaten the next day because of it.
His feathers are in bad shape, tattered and unkempt. But Zack can’t get himself to do anything about them or let alone even touch them. They hurt like something fierce and he’s had some bad thoughts about wanting to rip them off his own back but he tries to chalk that up to the lasting after-affects of the mist.
He’s got to find Aqua and talk to her. After everything that went down, he’s got some apologies to make. It doesn’t take too long to find where she’s staying. So, he knocks.]

They had told her that she would change, but she hadn't thought that it would be so dramatic so quickly.
Aqua was getting ready to head out when she hears that knocking. She makes her way to the door, eyes widening in surprise when she opens it. ]
... Zack. [ He... doesn't look like he's been doing well. She can't help but be worried. Though, she looks like she hasn't been getting much sleep herself - not with the bags under her eyes. ]
Are you alright?
no subject
[Zack's hand automatically goes to his dark hair to ruffle it slightly as he awkwardly sighs. He can't help looking her over with a quick glance, though.]
I've been better. But you look like you're better than... before.
[You know, with all the dragon scales and ice.]
I wanted to check in on you.
no subject
Thank you, but I'm alright now.
[ More than anything, time is what she needs to heal. She just hopes that whatever changes she goes through next isn't so... dramatic or out of her control.
She shifts then, giving Zack space enough to enter if he'd like to. ]
Would you like to come in?
no subject
[He gives her an easy smile even is he still feels a little off base with all this. He wants to apologize and do more for her. Somehow. The way the arrivals have been lately and with everyone getting thrown into such drastic changes... It was bad.
He walks in and nods his thanks.]
You're doing alright, then? How's your body? Monster changes aren't usually so... damn fast.
no subject
I can make some tea, if you'd like.
[ She shakes her head at his question. ]
... That should be my question to you. I... wasn't myself then. [ To say the least. She knows that she must have hurt him. ]
I'm so sorry, Zack.
no subject
Hey, I was coming here to say sorry to you. Not the other way around.
[She's got to be sweet like that? Now he feels like more of a jerk!]
We were all a little wild that night. That mist was making us all act out of control. We're not supposed to be feral like that out of nowhere.
no subject
I had no idea that we could go feral. I'm sure it was a shock to everyone.
[ She makes her way into living room then, gesturing for Zack to take a seat if he'd like. ]
Please, you don't need to apologize. I was the one who attacked you, and you were just trying to help. ... You had every reason to try to defend yourself.
no subject
I couldn't exactly control myself either... So I guess we're even.
[Honestly, he remembers how she came at him and how much of a thrill that gave him. Even with the bites and scratches and attacks, Zack's blood had been boiling with, embarrassingly enough, a desire for more of her.
But he'll just ... leave that part out.]
Going feral usually only happens to monsters who haven't had a bond in a while... Who knows how this mist triggered us. Even those of us with bonds.
no subject
There's so much I still don't know about this world. It... sounds as though both my friends and I need to look into forming bonds.
But then - does that mean that you've been able to find someone to bond with?
no subject
Zack moves to sit down and he stretches his wings a bit before folding them again.]
Yeah, just the one. But you're lucky to have a few friends from home, make sure you take care of them. I think the coven says about three bonds is best for anyone. Going without a bond is when things go bad for most of us.
no subject
... I will. The most important thing now is for us to stick together. I'm sure it's been the same for you and your friend.
[ She looks upwards once more. ]
... But, Zack. Have you been taking care of yourself?
[ It doesn't look like he has... She can't help but be concerned. ]
no subject
I look that much like shit, huh? [He grins a bit.] I'm fine, it's just been a long last few days.
[His wings have the worst of it, unkempt and tangled and probably even a little bloody in some hidden spots.]
I just need a long and scalding hot shower.
no subject
There haven't been anymore attacks, have there?
[ The blood on his wings is a pretty alarming sight... She hasn't felt anything like that night, but possible that there could be some lingering effects.
She hopes that Zack's been able to stay out of danger. ]
no subject
[Even if tension with the coven is only getting worse.
He gives a small smile and then shrugs.]
Thanks for worrying about me.
no subject
[ It just feels only natural that she'd worry about him. ]
In the meantime, do you have someone to help you take care of your wings?
no subject
Ahhh, they'll be fine. The feathers will sort themselves out.
[Zack, no. They look like shit and will not sort themselves out.]
no subject
[ For some reason she doesn't quite believe him... She just wants him to take care of himself is all. ]
no subject
Yeah, really. Birds end up moulting on their own, right? ... I'm sure that'll happen eventually.
[He's expecting his bad feathers to just... go away.]
no subject
[ She doesn't believe him AT ALL. ]
no subject
Yeah?
no subject
You've helped me before. I'd like to return the favor.
[ Yeah, she's calling him out. ]
no subject
Hey... it's fine. You don't have to do anything for me. I don't want to put you out like that.
[He rubs the back of his hair.]
I've got my wings into this mess, myself.
[At least he's admitting his wings are a mess.]
no subject
[ She sends him a meaningful look. Friends take care of each other, don't they? ]
no subject
Damn, when you put it that way...? How can I say no?
[With a small sigh he outstretches one wing.]
Can you help me with this then? Maybe just... getting rid of the loose feathers or something.
no subject
It's the truth, isn't it?
[ She pauses before nodding her head. ]
Of course. Just tell me what to do.
[ She doesn't want to risk hurting him or anything. ]
no subject
If you see any raggedy looking feathers that look like they could fall out, pull em. And maybe straighten out the ones that look decent.
no subject
It won't hurt you to pull them out?
no subject
[He's honestly just like a moulting bird. It'll feel good to get rid of the bad feathers.]
no subject
[ If he says so, then... she'll begin, reaching for one of his wings and beginning to work at the feathers - tugging carefully at the one of the feathers Zack described until it's completely removed.
... They feel so soft. ]
Is doing it like this alright?
no subject
Feels damn good!]
Mhhhhmm...
no subject
Before she stops laughing. She can't help it! The way he's responding-- it's cute, to say the least. ]
no subject
Don't- [Zack snorts, laughing as a wing quivers.] Don't laugh at me, that just happens, alright?!
no subject
no subject
Just what I wanna be called. Cute.
[At least he's not being called a puppy!]
no subject
There's a part of you that does.
[ Look... his tail is just wagging faster.
She goes back to what she was doing before - fingers working through his wings carefully. ]
What would you rather be called?
no subject
[He smirks. He's probably not even kidding??]
no subject
That's rather confident of you, isn't it?
no subject
Hah. I guess I'll have to settle with cute. As long as it comes from you.
no subject
From me?
[ She finishes with the last feather on one wing, double checking her handiwork before releasing the gentle hold she had on his wing. ]
That should do it for that wing.
no subject
Thanks, Aqua. That feels loads better.
no subject
I'm glad.
Here, this won't take too long.
