Who: Connor + Open!
When: During the full moons
Where: Around the city
What: Connor gets his Merrow tail... at the most inconvenient of times
Warnings: None so far!
[Connor is just walking back to his cottage when his legs stop working and he falls in the street. At first he's just confused- he doesn't just fall-, but then he realises he can't get back up. A little panicked, because this isn't normal, the LED on Connor's head flashes red as his legs begin to fuse together and form a bright orange and blue tail.
Why here? He isn't wet. He drags himself forward a few feet; he lives quite a bit further away, but what else can he do? Luckily someone seems to be coming his way. He sits up, hoping it's not someone who dislikes monsters.]
Can you help me?
[He gestures helplessly to his tail.]

Oh. [It isn't helpful but it takes her a moment to know what to say.] Connor?
[He has a tail...]
Can you not make it go away?
[Justine really doesn't know how this monster stuff works.
Maybe he can slither like a snake...]
no subject
No, I can't. I'm stuck.
[Which is extremely unfortunate, yes.]
no subject
[Her brows furrow in worried confusion before glancing down the long cobbled street. The streets are empty and there isn't much in the way of objects or tools that they can use. City streets aren't usually this silent... its eerie.]
I'm not sure how I can help.
[Justine steps forward, crouching down next to this new tail of his. Her fingers ran along the tail and she felt the distinct texture of a fish.] This is... real? [It is a little hard for her to wrap her mind around.]
no subject
[He sounds at a loss. Worse still, he feels oddly feisty and restless, and he can't move to burn off the extra energy.
When Justine touches his tail, he shifts it slightly.]
It's real. I wish it wasn't.
no subject
[She asks in a calm tone.]
Maybe I can find you a cart? I don't have the strength to move you on my own. [Justine is very aware of her talents and brute strength isn't one of them.]
no subject
[The tail is quite sensitive, but the touch isn't unpleasant.]
A cart sounds like a good idea.
[He feels bad that Justine has to try to wheel him home now, but he can't see any other way of getting off the street.]
no subject
[She places her palm lightly on his tail.]
Just... stay here. [Justine's lips tug into a light smile as she stands and quickly steps down the street. She jogs around a corner, out of sight and for a few lonely seconds, all he can hear is the click of her boots against the cobble stones.
A few minutes pass.
The counts of the cart can be heard first and then Justine's slender frame comes back into view, pulling a small grain cart with four wheels and a handle.]
no subject
That seems like it'll work.
[He can just drag himself into the cart, he's sure.]
no subject
Can you not control it?
[It's slick but there are muscles beneath those scales.]
no subject
[He can at least use it to help push himself into the cart, though.]
Could you take me to the water? I think I need to swim, and I'm drying out.
no subject
It's difficult for her to push alone and in heels, but she slowly makes her way down the street, hoping that they'll hit a downward slop.]
You might need to help. The ocean is that way.
[She nods in the opposite direction from where she had retrieved the cart.]
no subject
Of course. How can I help?
[He's not sure what he can do from here, but he'll help however he can.]
no subject
[It is wishful thinking but he might have the strength to help her..]
I remember you having impressive muscles in your shoulders and back. [Her tone is teasing and light but she comes to a stop, gasping to catch her breath.]
no subject
Do you need another massage after this?
[It's the least he could do for her, given that she's pushing him all this way.]
no subject
Maybe but you should make it a full body massage. My legs are going to be exhausted after this.
[She goes back to pushing and between the two of them, they manage a steady forward pace.
It's when they hit the last steep downward hill that Justine begins to pull back, trying to prevent the cart from going to fast and crashing into something.]
no subject
[As they reach the downward slope Connor stops pushing forward and tries to make the cart go slower instead, to take some of the weight off for Justine. He wouldn't like to go rolling down the hill.]
no subject
Her stomach slams into the railing of the cart and it knocks her breath out of her but it doesn't really hurt. It might bruise but its a minor price to pay.] Maybe a massage and a drink. [She breaths out as the curls of the crashing waves fills the shell of her ears.]
We're almost there.
[Justine pushes the cart a few more feet and then pauses.] Should we chance the sand or the dock? [The sand will be difficult to push the cart over but the dock is for boats and Connor will have to fall several feet down before hitting the water.
Either way, Justine will have to stay on shore because she doesn't know how to swim.]
no subject
Are you okay?
[And then to her question:]
Take me to the dock. I don't mind falling, and you've pushed me far enough without having to push me over sand, too.
[He figures he can swim to the edge of the water and Justine can meet him there on the sand.]
no subject
I'll be alright. We're close now. [She doesn't want to admit it but she should probably work out. After this, she will likely need to rest before she'll be able to walk back home. If that doesn't work, she'll call someone to carry her home.
She leans forward again and continues to the doc. It's a lot easier on the flat surface and with Connors help. She stops at the end of the pier, knowing that it is deep enjoy for him drop in without issue. Hopefully.] Here.
[Justine places the brick back under the wheel and then gently helps him move towards the edge of the pier.]
no subject
That's better. You should sit on the beach for a while.
[She could use the rest, it seems like.]
no subject
She does have just enough strength to walk around the dock, towards the shore that dips into the water.] Yeah? Then I will. [Justine isn't sure that she'll be able to get up if she sits down but its a chance she's willing to take.
She steps back the way she'd came but this time she travels down towards the beach, stopping just at the waters edge. It isn't a steady slop like the beaches she's used too but instead its lined with sections of rocks where Justine is sure the depth drops, allowing larger boats to use the docks.
She sits near one of these groups of rocks, watching Connor whenever he breaks the surface of the water.]
You know. [Justine waits until he's close enough that she doesn't have to raise her voice.] If you don't have legs. I'm not sure how to teach you to massage them.
[She stretches her legs out and then proceeds to take off her boots, tossing them next to her.]
no subject
You could show me how to do it on yours.
[He can't really get his legs back right now, so that's not an option. But he's sure if Justine showed him where to press, he could do it.]
no subject
He looks a little better than he had when she'd first seen him and... she's glad.] I could. It isn't so hard but it'd be easier if I take off my pants.
[She doesn't mind but if she's showing him then she actually has to tell him where the muscles are and it's easier without clothes in the way.]
no subject
Of course.
[He shifts off the rock and over to sit by Justine, wincing a little as his tail scrapes over the pebbles. Is that pain? It's unpleasant.]
no subject
We can sit closer to the edge. I don't want to hurt you.
[She isn't sure what the normal protocol is for someone with a tail like this.] I know it's unsettling but you have a very beautiful tail. [He's like a mermaid.]
