[As her hand comes to his, Ozymandias pauses in cleaning and studies her smile a moment. The curve to her lips seems such a frail thing.]
I imagine there is common ground yet discovered. [He finishes his work of cleaning her hand, but doesn't let go as immediately as he had the first.] After all, we are both here lending our aid.
[Even if Ozymandias would have advised more caution in the immediate moment -- using the opportunity of going to Dorchacht to assess before acting -- what is done is done. The suffering of the refugees should not be prolonged any longer than it must. And so, while Ozymandias' aid does not come so much by the means of manual labor himself, his lifetime of constructing great monuments and temples lends itself well to planning and efficient movement of resources and labor.]
...Though I believe we differ on our work ethic, [he says with a teasing smile.] Your work is not yet complete and here you are, engaging me in idle conversation.
[As he lets go, he allows his hold to shift from her wrist to hand, giving the latter a light squeeze before completely releasing his hold on her.]

Daenerys was pleased Eren helped orchestrate the change in Dorchacht, her own ambitious and stubborn view of slavery put them all at risk – she knows, but her heart was too attuned to the struggles of the shackled monsters. It was not as successful as she'd like... but no dragons means things were difficult. And their goal was to not cause civil discourse between Aefenglom and Dorchacht. Ugh! Politics are always messy.
The gesture is sweet and kind, something she has to pull away from when he releases her. Her form twists and there's a small smirk undeniable on her features. An excitement in her chest is hard to contain, a young girl far too curious for her own good. He's given her no reason to distrust him, so of course – the gesture raises a bit of red upon her features. ]
You may raise a brush and join me if ethic is your concern. [ There is only a little bit left and carefully – she kneels downwards away from the spilled paint. The brush is taken and churned into the remainder of the paint bucket, a few strokes given before she looks upwards to him – ] Unless you've found yourself in an overseer role that I have not heard of?

[Especially when she returns words to him. He huffs a laugh, setting aside the dirtied rag.]
Can you truly fault me for attempting to create a position for myself where I might indulge in such a vision as the one before me? [He sighs seemingly in defeat.] It was foolish of me to assume such a prize would be so easily mine...
[He picks up a spare brush.]
But if it might give me the pleasure of your company, then I shall join you in painting.

Bend the knee. [ With her! #characterdevelopment. ] We work better together, faster if you have skill in such a task.

By now, I imagine you've more skill than me, [he says with a small laugh. Ozymandias is always the first to brag at his own skills, but painting doors is not truly among them. Besides, she has been at this nearly all day.] If I do not slow you down, then I shall be satisfied.

An ultimatum is it then? [He takes the excess paint off his brush on the edge of the bucket before beginning to paint his side of the door.] I did not know you had self-appointed yourself to a position where you could make such demands of me.

[ Each stroke tries to keep her spunk contained – and she fails. Every time. The wrinkles by her nose were unlike any she's had since arriving here. It was a true, smart-assed smirk that she most certainly learned in her recent years. Never as a young girl, certainly. ]
I may not have an appropriate position, but I have sound judgment. And my judgment dictates we both benefit from you joining me here.

I would not deny that we both benefit, but that smile of yours would suggest it's not of equal benefit.
sneaks this in
[ One side of the door is down, stricken with red and an even coat. ]

[He turns his gaze back to his section of the door.]
and scene uwu
[ As they are on equal footing with this back and forth which will wane surely into the evening... ]
