Even if I were not hungry, you've brought it all this way. It would be remiss of me not to at least try what you have brought as an offering.
[He gestures for her to proceed with the food. A seamless gesture that plucks another cub off the table just as it manages to leap its way up.]

Then I'll cut off a small piece.
[Thank you for your quick save Ozy. She moved to grab a few things from the kitchen, and came back with plates, a knife, and forks.]
Though I will warn you-I do plan on making this a regular routine.
no subject
Do you? [He huffs a small laugh.] Do not tell me you're concerned for my health.
no subject
That would be motherly, wouldn't it? And quite out of character.
[She shook her head.]
No, it's practical. It's easier to cook for two then it is for one.
no subject
That is a relief to hear. You had me concerned for a moment.
no subject
And that would be rather uncomfortable. I'd have to distract you with kisses, and your divine beasts would eat the food.
[She made a rude noise, before giving Ozy a plate and fork.]
The kisses can happen after you've eaten, if at all.

[He doesn't interfere with Caren's setting up and continues holding the sphinx in his arms. Which is now starting to wriggle around to see the sphinx on his shoulders. Shenanigans may be impending, but Ozymandias doesn't seem particularly worried about it.]

[She smiled at him, seeing the sphinixes looking ready to make trouble. But she offered him a plate full of food, a hand ready in case a kitty decides to slide.]
Good ones at least.

[Two out of ? sphinx cubs are distracted.]
Not exceptional ones?
no subject
[She's amused at him, rather then at his furry children who are at least having a good wrestle. No food stealing from these kitties! Good.]
Are you saying you're going to offer exceptional kisses tonight? That may prove to be a challenge.
[What with the pets and all.]

[She offered an amused huff, settling in her seat to watch him.]
But please. Try it, and see.
[She was sure it was better then just getting dried chicken and overstewed bitter vegetables in some cafe. And certainly more substance then conjured.]

[The bar for cuisine in this world is fairly low. At least it is for Ozymandias who finds himself constantly compromising on his standards, having been once used to the finest that life had to offer. But as it turns out, Caren's ability to cook more than easily clears said low bar.]
[His pleasure at her food is immediately registered with a quiet noise.]
no subject
She hadn't realized how tense she was until she heard that quiet noise-of approval, she thought. It was enough to make her close her eyes briefly, and smile, if only to herself.]
Is it suitable?
no subject
[Under other circumstances, that sort of compliment would be a bit more exaggerated even if he was still being sincere about finding her food acceptable. But in this case, it's a lot less hyperbolic than usual.]
no subject
[She's surprised. It shows more in her tail but well. She's quietly pleased with this.]
Then I suppose it would not be too great of an infliction if I continue making things for the both of us? It'd certainly save on funds.
