Well if he comes with your recommendation, I have to check him out, right? [ A small chuckle. More a statement of her faith in Ramesses' assessments than anything else. The guy had an eye for talent, to be absolutely certain. Her 'shine' may have diminished over the years, but he managed to spot it within her even before she told him anything about her past. Or about herself in general. ]

[fulgency]

It would be the wise thing to do, [he says with a teasing grin.] You may tell him it was at my recommendation. I am not the king he has sworn fealty to, but he understands the importance of my opinion.

[Waver will fuss most likely at the mention of coming recommended, but... Well, he was probably going to do that anyway. So, if it greases the wheel and gets Chariot a little forward momentum in getting his agreement ultimately to help, so be it.]

Well I'm definitely not gonna cold call the guy... [ Chariot gave a nervous laugh. ] So your name coming out would probably do better to explain how I even know who he is.

[fulgency]

[He huffs a laugh of his own.]

You could just as easily leave me anonymous.

[beariot]

And why should I do that? I thought you liked it when I said your name. [ Teasing him, just a little. ]

[fulgency]

Oh, I do, [he says with a grin, happy to accept the teasing. It's not all that often she teases him. That does not mean, however, he's going to pass on the opportunity to return the favor.] But much like I enjoy listening to you speak to me in French, there's a very specific context involved.

[beariot]

[ Which that... definitely made her cheeks darken, even more, and duck her head slightly as she let out nervous chuckle in response, completely floored by his counter attack. And she couldn't say he was wrong, either. She could only accept his remarks for exactly what they were, a silly grin unable to be hidden away despite her embarrassment. ]

[fulgency]

Have I rendered you speechless already? [He chuckles and places another kiss to warm cheek. Not completely satisfied with that alone, Ramesses lets go of her waist to hook a finger under her chin to press a chaste kiss to that silly grin of hers.] I shall be merciful and not speak of it further for now, but if your mind is to wander on its own...

That would hardly be my fault.

[ Those kisses, even if chaste, caused her hair to flash briefly each time, only further driving up her self-consciousness, but not in any... particularly shameful way. Though she did reach up to tug at the brim of her hat, disguise her blush in some way despite knowing how obviously smitten she looked. ]

You are... so incorrigible, your highness. [ She couldn't stop smiling. ] I have to get these to the kids, and now I'm all flustered. [ She could only hope they wouldn't ask any awkward questions... ]

[fulgency]

[Ramesses' smile doesn't fade, but it becomes a little less teasing in the wake of her own persistent smile. He's tempted to kiss her again -- gods know he wants to kiss Chariot as many times as it takes to keep that beautiful smile -- but he needs to show a little restraint and allow her to collect herself at least somewhat before taking on the task of occupying the children's time.]

If that is so, then I must ask you to forgive me for my weakness. [He brushes some of her hair behind her ear.] It is the effect you have on me, but it seems I ought to have more resolve to resist it.

[beariot]

I guess I'll just have to think of a good cover story... [ With her hat still pulled down, obscuring both their faces as she leaned in close, she took his lips one last time, tenderly, letting warmth pour into the contact with a soft little hum. ]

[fulgency]

[Chuckling quietly, Ramesses returns the kiss as she brings their lips together. When the kiss ends, he steals another that lasts just long enough to clearly suggest that he misses her lips against his already.]

I'll be back to see how you're faring later, [he promises, stroking her cheek before separating from her and ultimately leaving her to it.]

[He has no doubt that Chariot will be fine, but if there's an excuse to see her again, he'll take it.]
