B - I'm tagging this very late, I apologize
The book's about turnskins, he notices, and to him that confirms the purposeful staring, so he sets down the stack of books he was moving to confront the kid...who's already noticed. Hm.
"Y'know, talking is a lot less creepy than staring."
it's ok!
"Sorry," he answers with a polite shrug. "Some turnskins have heightened senses, right? I should have known you'd notice."
He sets his book aside and stands up to offer him a respectful hand. "I'm Makoto Yuuki."
no subject
"I guess so," he admits, lightly tugging on one ear. "But most people notice when someone else is staring at them."
He accepts the handshake, grateful for still-human hands to do so with. "Noctis."

"Are you a mirrorbound?" Makoto asks, hoping the question won't set off any alarm bells, considering the heightened animosity towards them lately. To set him at ease, he quickly adds, "I am. This is my second month here. I've been trying to learn as much as possible about this place, now that it seems I'm stuck here." Hence the books, and the people-watching.

"Yeah...been here about four months now."
He glances at the other books Makoto has with him--if the one he's been reading is about Turnskins, then the rest might be about other monsters. Which makes him wonder if that means that he himself is a monster trying to learn about the others or a witch trying to collect non-magic information.
"So are you turning into anything or are you one of the luckier ones?"
no subject
"Not one of the lucky ones." He crosses his arms, his hands disappearing into the fabric of the long black cloak he's wearing. "I thought for a while that being a vampire would be a lucky second place option, but now I'm not so sure. I might look mostly the same, but... there are a lot of mental changes, I guess you could say."
