Dazai's Vampire Adventures [open]
Who: Osamu Dazai (
proficience) and you!
When: September 1st through September 4th, before the trip to Dorchacht
Where: Various places around the main city; the cafe, around the streets, etc.
What: Dazai is just trying to get by as a vampire during the daytime, really. Some fairly light-hearted threads before the event!
Warnings: Probably nothing really, but I'll put a talk of suicide warning here just in case, since that's how he is.
I - The Cafe
[Dazai had originally agreed upon working at one of the local cafes as a way to earn money to buy his closest friend a notebook, as well as to help pay for whatever their house needs. That, and he'd become painfully bored without any sort of job. Sure, back home, he'd tend to avoid work or responsibility unless absolutely necessary, but --
He knows that here, as a vampire, his time to enjoy the days are short. Incredibly so.
He's also a social man, so meeting new people is always a bit of a thrill; without a job, doing so would be near impossible.
Today, he's behind the counter and about as peppy as one would expect him to be. He's trying to cope with the fact that he has to yawn just about every few minutes or so by insisting he keep a smile upon his face at all times. The smile may be a tad -- well, unnerving with his newly formed fangs.]
Hello~! Can I take your -- [He'll yawn here, waving a hand frantically in front of his mouth in an attempt to hide it.] order?
II - With an Umbrella
[After receiving several lessons on how to survive as a vampire during the day soon after his initial arrival, Dazai has picked up on a few Life Pro Tips and has now finally procured an umbrella that he now has tightly gripped in his hand. He's walking around the city near most of the shops, stopping occasionally to catch his breath.
Honestly, if he weren't in the process of turning, he'd appear to passersby to be incredibly sick. Even if one were to witness him wobble about and stop for breath, they might think that he is.
He can be approached either while walking, while hunched over and holding his knees, or while he's passed out on a bench.
If approached on the bench, he might be baking just a bit in the sun. That umbrella won't be in his hand at that point!]
III - Desperate Need to Feed
[A certain vampire named Dazai has been incredibly stubborn lately when it comes to actually feeding from others. He has two reliable sources, those who are bonded to him, but --
Sometimes, neither are available, and sometimes, Dazai worries about taking too much blood from them at once. So, he's far more emotional than usual if approached while anywhere, the chance of him simply snapping at you higher than normal.
In fact, while he's trying to make his way home from work, he'll bump into someone (you, perhaps?) and state:]
Out. of. my. way.
[His voice, although weak, still carries a strong hint of disdain for whomever he'd bumped into.]
IV - Wildcard
[Want to run into Dazai at a specific place or in a specific scenario? Talk to me on discord (Celes#5178), plurk (
danger) or just write a starter in the comments here! I'm open to pretty much anything!]

Emil didn't even think about having to pay rent, but as soon as it's mentioned he won't have to worry about it, he can't help but feel even more relieved. What a sweet deal!]
Ah o-okay, sure! I don't really have much to do so...whenever you'd like is fine with me.
no subject
Well, no time like the present, then!
[He'll slide off of the bench and spin around, reaching for Emil's hand again. He'd felt the flinch before, but this time, he's assuming he won't.]
The walk there shouldn't take long. [Though, admittedly -- he's very tired. He's going to try not to express that at all, however, since he wants to get this done before his changes become worse.]

But for now there's only a smile on Emil's face and his eyes behind his blindfold are dry. Dazai's hand, albeit chilly, is nice to hold onto. He's so starved for affection that any small amount of it is something to be cherished.]
I don't mind walking. It's nice to be out and about, really.
[Considering, y'know, he doesn't get out much.]

Emil, however, won't be treated like either of them. Oda is his best friend turned boyfriend, for lack of a better term, and Akutagawa is a tool. Emil is a friend. A near-mirror image of Atsushi, but a friend, nevertheless.]
I'm going to miss being out and about once all of my changes take place. [A wistful sigh.] You know, Odasaku always wanted to be near the sea. I'm not going to be able to watch the gentle waves with him, here. [He pauses, trying not to feel too distressed over that admission.]
But I'm still very happy to be with him, again, regardless of my inability to bask in the sun.

Quietly he lets Dazai lead him by the hand, still tickled pink by the novelty of it. As much as he looks like one and as much as his personality has retained an air of childish wonder, Emil has been alive for quite sometime. He's stuck in a strange limbo of sorts, a child without truly being one anymore - but he still enjoys the weight of having someone else's hand around his. It's nice to indulge in a little piece of childhood that he never had.]
I'm sorry...
[Emil's not sure what else to say to that. It's tragic really, that Dazai's having these things stripped away from him and there's nothing he can do about it...but at least he can still be with someone he cares so much about, right?]

His life is suffering now, in many ways, but it's ironic. He'd always wanted to die, and now he's an undead. He should be happy. He is happy, at least, that his closest friend is alive once again. He knows enough to not take that for granted.
Or to take any new friendships for granted, even if, without a doubt, Dazai is a manipulator at heart. There's no way that Emil won't get hurt somehow, at some point, due to his friendship with him.]
It's alright. I have many great things here, so there's no need to dwell on my few problems. Besides, before long, we'll be bonded. That will be fun, I'm sure!
[Speaking of which, they're not far from their destination at this point.]
no subject
Mm...I hope so. If being bonded to me will make things easier for you...then I'll be happy for it.

Speeding up his walk just a bit, it takes very little time for the two of them to make their destination. Once inside, Dazai will enthusiastically ask for an experienced witch to oversee the ritual.
The witch that greets them almost instantly asks Dazai what his relationship to Emil is, and to that, he says:]
Emil-kun is a friend of mine! [The enthusiasm in those words is enough to convince the witch to start the process, asking the two bonded-to-be to hold hands and exchange vows, of sorts.]
Emil-kun, I am very grateful to have met you. I believe that there are wonderful things in your future, and I hope that I can help you see and achieve them all. [He pauses a moment to catch his breath. He's tired, admittedly.] You'll have a permanent home with myself and Odasaku, that I can assure you.
