[ It was getting late in the evening, but it was crucial to meet up. Daenerys – with the help of some more technologically savvy people – offered invitations to anyone who seemed interested in the affair with Dorchacht.

They meet at the Sly Seadog: a run-down little dive of a tavern, found along a narrow back-alley in the harbour, frequented by sailors, welcoming to Monsters and humans alike. The crowd is dense for this early in the "night", but still a few drunkards pawning off their last bit of money for a little bit more booze.

It was not up to a standard she would prefer, but it's something and it's relatively quiet. Three long tables can fit enough people for their meeting – and there's some standing room at the bar. Time to get down to business, right?

[ Peridot watches him speak with mild concern, and leans back in her chair a little bit when he tries to get up. Forget Dorchacht, for the moment. She frowns at him, brow furrowed. ]

Are you... Feeling alright?

[ Her lip curls a little, like the feeling of those exact words coming out of her mouth is foreign and unfamiliar. And then she promptly decides that, actually, she doesn't trust Hiccup to give an honest answer, and so she doesn't wait for him to give her one. She turns to Toothless instead and points at the Hiccup with one claw. ]

Is he feeling alright?

I'm fine! [Okay he's not normally that snappy. It's still mild, because it's Hiccup, but. The whole lack of a bond thing and the nightmares about dying in Dorchacht have him on edge, especially now, knowing that he's absolutely going back to that awful place in just a few days' time.] I'm- Why wouldn't I be fine? It's all the people in Dorchacht that- that probably aren't fine-

[Toothless barks out a sound that comes off as flat, exasperated, and almost sarcastic, accompanied with lidded eyes and laid back ear-fins. No. His human is not alright.]

[ Peridot makes an understanding face at Toothless, and then looks back to Hiccup, resting her cheek on one hand, looking tired. ]

You're right. They're almost definitely not fine. But we're several days out from being able to do anything about it, and you're acting really jumpy. It's kind of freaking me out.

There's plenty to do still, we need a- a plan, we can't go into this blind- [He tries to rise to pace again, and Toothless forces him down by resting the entire weight of his blunt head in Hiccup's lap.

Exhaling, he settles a hand over his dragon's scales.] I'm not- I'm not jumpy, I'm just- [He's just what? Sleep deprived? Bondless? Possibly on the edge of hallucinating? Nope, not admitting any of that to anyone.] I've been busy. I need to be busy.
