[open] pre-gaming, the dignitary variety
Who: Anyone invested in the Dorchacht Dilemma or planning to visit Dorchacht through the event.
When: Septeril 1st, late evening
Where: The Sly Seadog
What: Planning
Warnings: Who the eff knows
[ It was getting late in the evening, but it was crucial to meet up. Daenerys – with the help of some more technologically savvy people – offered invitations to anyone who seemed interested in the affair with Dorchacht.
They meet at the Sly Seadog: a run-down little dive of a tavern, found along a narrow back-alley in the harbour, frequented by sailors, welcoming to Monsters and humans alike. The crowd is dense for this early in the "night", but still a few drunkards pawning off their last bit of money for a little bit more booze.
It was not up to a standard she would prefer, but it's something and it's relatively quiet. Three long tables can fit enough people for their meeting – and there's some standing room at the bar. Time to get down to business, right?
Feel free to top level, make points, argue, etc. ]

There’s no way for you to see him again, I take it.
[ he might be on the opposite end of that line, but at least no one around here is afraid of losing him. too much. he hopes.
that’s a lie. ]
no subject
He'd died four years ago, so yes, I couldn't see him again if he leaves this world.
[He sips the beer carefully, sighing directly into the glass as that bland, yet still bitter taste burns his throat.]
Not great, but it doesn't feel as if it'll come right back up, at least.
[He sets the glass back down.] Is there anyone from your world you'd hate to see arrive here?
no subject
he can never return home, truly. he was no longer among the living, but the urgency to return still hangs above his head like driving lights. would he hate for everyone to show up here? in a way, yes, and another, no. ]
Depends when they’re taken from. [ which was an. odd answer!! what he’d hate to do is treat them like shit all over again. they’d probably hate to see him rather than the other way around. ] My captain went home after a while, [ but, eren shrugs. it wasn’t too much of an emotional loss. there was his own that he had to deal with. ] but no one’s showed since then.
[ . . . ]
I might even be relieved.
[ and that— was probably the first time he’s felt the pressure of such immense weight on his chest, painfully bottled for ages. he realizes this, and takes a clean shot of whiskey when it’s offered on a tray. ]
no subject
Your captain? [Interesting. That piques his interest, some.] I wonder if I'd met them at all.
[He nods at the comment about potentially being relieved, thinking along the same lines for himself. He's almost relieved Atsushi isn't here. He's not entirely sure if he could handle what this world could throw at him. Sure, it'd be a wonderful learning opportunity, but --
He's desperately needed at home. Akutagawa is here, so to have both of his proteges missing would damper the Agency's chance at getting anything done. Even if Akutagawa isn't associated with the Agency, he's an excellent team member for Atsushi to work with.]
I understand that feeling.
[He'll try to drink a little more.]
There are two I'd much rather never see here.
no subject
Out of hate or love?
[ they’re two strangers, there’s nothing wrong with low key talking out their problems. ]
no subject
One of each. One is my protege, you could say -- the other, my former partner. [He'd brought up Chuuya several times now, to several strangers and acquaintances here. Though, he'd had to clarify at least once that Chuuya was a former business partner.
No need to give anyone the wrong idea.]
Business partner. Not having him around has been a blessing. That, and seeing as how abilities and powers are taken away upon arrival -- [His eyes fall to that glass,] I'm concerned that he'd be given something even more devastating as a replacement.
[Not that Corruption isn't devastating all on its own, but without Dazai's ability, using it would kill the host -- Chuuya.]

[ business was always hairy. always interest, so always expected. the talk of powers and different worlds, though— it’s interesting. eren can’t think of what he wouldn’t want his enemies to have. they’re all more or less on the same scale. ]
Well . . . These new changes of ours, [ finger wiggle, clawed and black ] they’re all devastating if we aren’t careful. You’re a witch?
no subject
With a light chuckle,]
No, I'm a vampire. Hence why alcohol doesn't bring the same joy to me as it used to. [His expression remains fairly upbeat, however, as he continues:] Becoming an undead is the ultimate form of irony. I couldn't imagine any form more appropriate.
no subject
[ . . . he also says that rather easily, as if it’s completely possible. ]
no subject
[He doesn't even hesitate to continue.]
I've always wished for death, but it never came. I suppose that this world's way of forcing me to become an undead is the ultimate punishment. Or -- simply ironic.
[After a moment, he'll add:]
I no longer wish for death, though. Not here. I have a reason to live. [And has for a while, ever since his friend's untimely demise.]
no subject
there’s that. eren was and always has been pro-life— he’s been through wanting someone to just eat him so he could disappear. it was always just a tad easier to disappear. he’s not there anymore, and he never would be, because there was one supreme reason why he deserved to live.
he was born into the world in the first place, and his mark would be left upon it. ]
That’s good. We all have a reason to live.
no subject
He'd found that reason at the last moment, and that reason has remained within him for over four years now. That being said, he still makes terrible jokes about death when he's feeling inclined or bored, as that's just a staple of his personality at this point.]
I believe most of us do, yes.
[He glances at his drink, which is almost empty. Figuring he'd had enough, especially since his taste for alcohol has diminished a ton since his initial changes --
He pushes his glass to the side.]
Well, this was a pleasant discussion. I hope we can have another sometime.
