Where: SEES House- an awkwardly huge house in the haven.
What: Just everything. Tending to the garden, hanging out inside and outside. Hit me up at soozaphone if you want to plan/plot something!

Hangin' in the Garden.
He liked to tell himself he was just doing this to help out Fuuka. She'd gotten a job at a floral shop, so maybe she'd want to use the badly overgrown patch of land fenced in beside the house- something that clearly used to be some sort of garden for potion ingredients or flowers or vegetables or whatever else by the original inhabitants, before the building was abandoned and the whole area was turned into the Haven. He tells himself it's just because he's got nothing else to do, and definitely not because it grates on him to see the dying, tangled, mass of plants vying for light and soil space, strangling one another, weeds popping up in every space possible.

He's going to deny those burgeoning faun instincts even as he gives in to them.

And so it's not a rare sight for him to be crouched down in the giant mess that could maybe become a garden in due time, completely confused as to what should be kept and what should be gotten rid of, and occasionally just grabbing entire stalks and ripping them out when the plant looks like it's beyond saving. Really, it's tempting to tear it all out and start from scratch-- but for all he knows, some of these are useful or rare or valuable or something?

Maybe he should take pictures and get the network to identify them. Or at least tell him which ones are poisonous.


Lunch time
Keeping a mental inventory of what everyone eats has made things kind of hard. He's sure Fie will eat anything. Fuuka, if she's picky, is too polite to actually say a lot of the time, so he just has to guess or try and watch for reactions. Louis is an herbivore. Makoto is basically a carnivore. And so even though he's grouchily resigned himself to the expectation that he makes food for everyone, it essentially means that he has to make multiple dishes, all depending on who's in the area and who's hungry.

At least Makoto is easy enough- lightly season and sear some meat, try his best to add in some other kind of nutrition, even if it's just rice cooked in broth or stock, and hope for the best. Akihiko would be the same, if he wasn't-- who knows where, right now. (Maybe snapped back home to their own reality? He has no fucking idea, and thinking on it just makes him angry and worried, so he just distracts himself with aggressively cooking.) Fuuka won't complain even if it's completely wrong, so whatever-- and anyone else isn't really around that often, even if he's taken to stocking a few more vegetarian options in case his bondmate drops by.

So come on by and whine for food or be disappointed in the choices today if you want to catch an earful. Or even learn how to cook your damn self, because sheesh he won't always be here to feed you guys.


Literally anything else
Break in to steal shit, start a fight, raid the fridge, knock on the door to try and spread the Good News, do whatever, it's all good!! ...Well, the window was open, since it's been hot. So I guess she didn't break in. But yeah, she showed up. [He shrugs, clearly not bothered by this fact. It's Fie. He should have expected it, really. She's kind of quirky and this fits her MO exactly.]

Hows your friend doing? Settled down at all?

[He won't lie to being curious as to how the other monster was making out. Seeing him out there was a good, visceral reminder of what could happen without a bond or vigilance-- and it makes him suddenly even more glad that he'd sought one out so soon. And maybe he should prod at Fuuka and Makoto, to make sure they do they same, before anything of the sort happens again.]

It was pretty wild, actually seeing a monster lose it like that.

[He sighs and slumps his shoulders] Oh boy....Sorry. She's just... [Um] Well, she's just like that. I'll try to ask her to at least use the door next time...though I can't guarantee she'll listen.

[ Because like a true cat, Fie just does what she wants. Sorry Shinji.

But...ah, right. Rean. Elliot somber up a little at the topic.]

...Yeah, he has. He's resting in custody right now, but they said we can pick him up later today. [He knows that doesn't sound good, but he was just thankful the local authority were being as understanding as they were. This easily could've turned out much worse than it already was.]

Yeah ... I know it wasn't on purpose though. Rean's been trying to keep it in check, he's just been struggling Coven's recommended methods.

[Bonds, not resisting the changes, not fearing it ... it's a lot easier said than done when you're dealing with a guy that already has a huge monster-related complex.]

Why? You ain't her keeper. [It's an earnest question. Because sure, Elliot may be a friend of hers from back home, attended the same school, but that doesn't make him responsible for her being some sort of stay cat in her off time. After all, if he really hated it, he could just lock the doors or sternly tell her off. As is, he just lets it happen and is tsundere bitches on the side.

The talk shifting to Rean, though, definitely does shift the tone of their conversation. His arms fold across his chest as he listens, frown deepening. He should probably say something supportive- like that he feels bad for the guy, or that it must be hard. But honestly?

Maybe it was different for the first arrivals, but it had been made clear to him very early that fighting changes and going without a bond would lead to loss of control. And so Shinjiro had sucked it up and sought out a witch who had arrived at the same time, and was out here working in a damn garden, just to prevent that sort of thing. He'd already been there and lived it-- getting cocky and losing control, to the detriment of others.

Rean's already pretty lucky in that no one died. And so, Shinjiro's sympathy is lacking.]

Yeah, well, guess that's what happens when you don't get it together. [A huff of air and he shrugs, as though to shake off his lingering distaste for the event.]

He's one of those bird guys, right? A harpy?

Well, we're Bonded, so I kinda am in a sense... [He says that in a light joking tone, like he doesn't actually mean it. He isn't controlling of Fie. His reaction had been more out of reflex. Class VII was pretty used to shepherding Fie's behavior. It wasn't her fault, it turns out being raised by jaegers left gaps in her social skills. And she wasn't as bad as well...a certain young lady with a robot.

Though he wasn't about to share that explanation with Shinji. He has no idea how much Fie's told him about her past. And as far as he was concerned, it was Fie's thing to share, not him]

Seriously though, I'm not her keeper, but we're pretty much family. And honestly, I'd rather not to pick up another family member from jail this week all 'cause she decided to break into someone's home whose not as okay with it.

[He does not want to become a familiar face at the local jail okay?

But right, Rean. He picks up that lack of sympathy and there's part of him that wants to jump to Rean's defense, but...he knows Rean did attack this guy, so he bites his tongue on it, choosing to ignore the first remark]

[He manages to keep from giving any dry comments about being bonded to Fie. Because really, she's probably not that bad. She's definitely one to test every boundary she sees, but she doesn't seem particularly difficult or harmful. Just very much with her own perspective and decisions, doing whatever she felt like doing.]

I'll let you know if she gets any worse. But honestly, if I'd cared too much, I woulda just tossed her out myself. [Which is true enough. Sure, he didn't always know what to do with Fie's teasing and whatever else, but he certainly didn't hate it.

But then again, the topic at hand. He doesn't know a lot about Harpies, admittedly. They were bird people, he'd see them hanging out on roofs, and Rean had clearly been trying to roost when Shinjiro had run into him. But was that really the instincts the guy had been fighting? Nothing worse?]

Then hopefully he'll chill out if he builds a nest and tucks shiny bullshit in it or whatever. Shit, it ain't like you gotta go eat worms. You know if he's got a plan for once he gets out?

[This guy must be pretty fond of Fie. Or is much more of a softie than he likes to let on. Maybe both. Still, he's glad that Fie's managed to make a friend here so soon.]

He's been in jail, so...no, I haven't talked to him about a plan yet. [He's only really talked to law enforcement. Not Rean directly] I know they're giving him a bracelet that'll alert the authorities if he's close to going feral again...but hopefully that'll be a safety net that never gets used.

--They have those? [His head tilts slightly at the revelation. So this place had devices that would act as an early warning sign of impending ferality, but they weren't being made to all don them upon arriving, despite the risks.

That's.... interesting. He's not sure if it's bad or good, but it certainly signals a sort of trust (or at least leniency) in regards to the mirrorbound. An unknown batch of people who would naturally buck against their natures, slowly transforming against their will, and yet they weren't being forced to be monitored for the safety of the native populace.

It's enough to distract him from projecting his own self-loathing onto Rean, and he taps his fingers rhythmlessly, just a small movement as he thinks.]

Like you said, here's hoping they don't gotta use it. Last thing we want is them thinking they gotta worry about every monster the mirrors throw out.

It seems so. I wonder if it's expensive to make, otherwise you'd think a lot of people would have them. I know a witch version would be really helpful to avoid explosions.

[He voices the thoughts that Shinji has, because yeah it crossed his mind too. There were a lot of mirrorbounds who were uh, reckless. And there were also accidents that could happen. It'd make sense to give some warning system on it.]
