Hangin' in the Garden.
He liked to tell himself he was just doing this to help out Fuuka. She'd gotten a job at a floral shop, so maybe she'd want to use the badly overgrown patch of land fenced in beside the house- something that clearly used to be some sort of garden for potion ingredients or flowers or vegetables or whatever else by the original inhabitants, before the building was abandoned and the whole area was turned into the Haven. He tells himself it's just because he's got nothing else to do, and definitely not because it grates on him to see the dying, tangled, mass of plants vying for light and soil space, strangling one another, weeds popping up in every space possible.
He's going to deny those burgeoning faun instincts even as he gives in to them.
And so it's not a rare sight for him to be crouched down in the giant mess that could maybe become a garden in due time, completely confused as to what should be kept and what should be gotten rid of, and occasionally just grabbing entire stalks and ripping them out when the plant looks like it's beyond saving. Really, it's tempting to tear it all out and start from scratch-- but for all he knows, some of these are useful or rare or valuable or something?
Maybe he should take pictures and get the network to identify them. Or at least tell him which ones are poisonous.
Lunch time
Keeping a mental inventory of what everyone eats has made things kind of hard. He's sure Fie will eat anything. Fuuka, if she's picky, is too polite to actually say a lot of the time, so he just has to guess or try and watch for reactions. Louis is an herbivore. Makoto is basically a carnivore. And so even though he's grouchily resigned himself to the expectation that he makes food for everyone, it essentially means that he has to make multiple dishes, all depending on who's in the area and who's hungry.
At least Makoto is easy enough- lightly season and sear some meat, try his best to add in some other kind of nutrition, even if it's just rice cooked in broth or stock, and hope for the best. Akihiko would be the same, if he wasn't-- who knows where, right now. (Maybe snapped back home to their own reality? He has no fucking idea, and thinking on it just makes him angry and worried, so he just distracts himself with aggressively cooking.) Fuuka won't complain even if it's completely wrong, so whatever-- and anyone else isn't really around that often, even if he's taken to stocking a few more vegetarian options in case his bondmate drops by.
So come on by and whine for food or be disappointed in the choices today if you want to catch an earful. Or even learn how to cook your damn self, because sheesh he won't always be here to feed you guys.
Literally anything else
Break in to steal shit, start a fight, raid the fridge, knock on the door to try and spread the Good News, do whatever, it's all good!! As stated about, just let me know if you want to plot anything with Shinjiro and I'll start a thread for us! IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO BE IN THE HOUSE it can be elsewhere also, lmao. I'm not your boss, literally do whatever you want. Use this post for your own threads, tag each other, start your own open stuff. I'M NOT YOUR BOSS, GO WILD.

this time. She figures she must've spent too long look around at absolutely nothing. Busted now, anyway.Fie turns on her toes to face him, still crouched on the sill, ready to make a break if there's need. Or if she simply wants to. Now she'll take her time, since there's a half naked guy in front of her, who isn't half bad. Sorry, bro, she'd be this shameless around most. Still, she does answer normally as she points to the stuff on his desk. Her own forearm is still wrapped in bandages.]
I brought some things that might help in the future, since there's no witch living here. Elliot's good at what he does, but he can't be everywhere.
[In Fie speak, it translates to her caring and being kinda sorry he got caught up in her group's mess. Now she moves from a crouch to a sit with her feet dangling above the floor of his room.]
Guess I wanted to see how you were doing, too, even though you'll insist you're fine.
no subject
Because that would just push things from bizarre to completely awkward, and really-- best to just avoid that. So even as she explains himself, he's making a move to the dresser, pulling it open to reveal that his lack of things translated to basically everything-- there's maybe three shirts in there, and he grabs the first one right on top and pulls it on.]
So... this some 'just in case' in case I end up fighting one of your buddies again?
[A pause, and he finally approaches the desk, picking up the hat.]
And what's this ugly thing for?
[He knows it's likely a replacement for his own, which happened to get a few solid cuts through it-- but it's weird and green and has ear flaps so what the hell, Fie.]
no subject
A hat, in case yours isn't fixable. Believe it or not, it's the least ugly one I could find.
[And that she absolutely means. Honestly, she does feel bad about what happened with Rean, but she fully recognizes it was Shinji's decision to stick around as well. This is her way to mitigate any potential leftover damage.
Fie sits there silently, not really sure what to say next. If he's irritated or angry, she'll leave. Since she's still getting to know him, sitting and waiting to see what happens next seems like the way to do that. Making friends here is more difficult than it was back home. Mess up there, and it'll be worked out. Mess up here and... that could easily be it. Not that she's overly concerned, but she is worried enough to hang around to figure it out if she needs to, since he's her friend now.]
no subject
And so, once he's finally calmed down from the surprise and irritation of finding out his room was broken into, he nods, setting the hat down and looking over the array of healing items.]
....Thanks.
[It's-- kind of awkwardly said, but earnest nonetheless, and he looks over to her.] I don't think I would've thought to ask for something like this. Here's hoping I won't need it.
[And now he can't help but wonder if she was worried about him after the fight. He.... certainly didn't do his best during it. As much as he wants to think he doesn't need his Persona, that he's better off without it? He was used to fighting a certain way, and now the cornerstone of that had been wrenched from him. Not to mention it was one her friends he'd run into.
It's a huge mess.]
And the shitty hat'll just make me try harder to fix mine, I guess.
no subject
You're welcome. [It's almost strange how that feels to her, but it's not a bad feeling. She nods, having an idea about his train of thought as he looks it over. A home of monsters and no witches. If not handled correctly, it's like they're sitting on a powder keg, and she doesn't want that to happen. Not to anyone, really.]
I can ask around to see if anyone's good at fixing that sort of thing if you want.
[While not invited, she hasn't been told to leave, so Fie hops off her perch of a sill and walks over to the stuff on the desk. Without skipping a beat, she takes the hat and reaches up to plop it on his head. Haha, stupid ear flaps. But something else gets her attention. During the fight when his hat had been sliced, so had his head. She goes on to her tip toes to look at his face, well, more specifically his forehead and hairline to see how it's doing. The sudden proximity really doesn't affect her.]
How's this healing? Head wounds can seem nastier than they are, but you still don't want to leave it alone.
no subject
But before he can respond, she's hopped up and shoved the ugly, mossy-green cap down over his head, shoved down just enough to squish his bangs down into his eyes. The ear flaps do their job, and the danging threads from them sway and he shakes his head to try and dislodge her.]
Hey, get off--
[Shoving it farther up so he can see again brings him closer to Fie's scrutinizing face-- and he's not... really sure what to do with this lack of distance between them. The cut itself had bled a lot at the beginning, sure, just due to the face being so vascular-- but the healing magic had helped, and now he just had a solid, itchy scab trailing up his temple and into the tangled mess of hair.
He strands up a bit straighter, pulling up and out of the slouch, and even taking a step back, as though to interject a bit of distance between them. He's just-- really not used to having concerned girls up in his face like that.]
It's fine. I've been making sure I ain't split it back open, and it hasn't been getting red or gross or anything. You don't gotta be so nagging.
no subject
[Fie takes her own step back and sits on the desk chair, resting her bandaged arm on the desk. Her own injuries were a little worse than his, but she's had worse on more than one occasion. Plus, Elliot's fantastic with his work.]
Not sure anything's gonna help with that nice blush you've got going on there. [Is that a smirk now? It absolutely is. If anyone thought she'd let that get away without comment, they clearly don't know her at all. Fie might even let a chuckle escape her here.]
Anyway, what're you up to today? I'm free for lunch if you're making food. Who wouldn't love the company of a cute girl?
[Such a nice self invitation.]
no subject
Hey, go to hell. I just don't like people up in my space like that.
[Also there's a tiny girl in his room at like 9 am and he doesn't have pants on so gIVE HIM A BREAK???
An extended exhale, and he shakes his head. He didn't have any plans, like most days, really. Maybe wander around Aefenglom to learn some more of the city layout, flip through the network to read any interesting drama going on with the mirrorbound, take a nap in like 2 hours out of boredom. Just the usual shit.]
And here I thought you were just gonna bounce out the window when I walked back in. Jokes on me for hoping. But sure, if you want a cute girl, I'll see if I can't call someone over for you. Maybe Yamagishi's available.
no subject
[Now she's staring intently at him, very curious about this sudden name drop of a cute girl he thinks about right away. Whether she's teasing or not is hard to tell this time. Either way, she wants to meet her now.]
Plus, you didn't tell me to leave yet. If you did, I missed it. [Willfully ignored it is more like. Fie's made herself pretty comfortable on the chair.
The sincere thanks from earlier has made her more comfortable here, overall, and with his gruff demeanor. She's met his type before, so it's not hard to brush off the... brush offs. In fact, she stayed with a lot of people like that for a good portion of her life. Maybe she'll share that sometime.]
no subject
And so he just points to the door-- not the window, surprisingly.]
You did miss it. Now get out so I can put some pants on. Go downstairs or something.
[Because fine, he'll feed you, ugh. But you'll just get whatever he's making for breakfast!!]
no subject
Before she heads down, though, she looks at him with a shrug.]
If you want. It's fine, I've seen people in way less. [And then she heads to the door, calling back.] I'll be in the kitchen probably!
[Except whenever he gets down there, she is very much not in the kitchen. He should find her in the living room, glancing at the bookcases and what was leftover from the previous inhabitants. For someone who doesn't like reading, this is awfully interesting to her.]
no subject
And he doesn't take too long to finish and make his way downstairs--though he did take a moment to go back and put his toothbrush back into its place, deciding that its short stint on the floor isn't enough to condemn it. He wanders downstairs a few minutes later, now with pants, and lifts a brow at her glancing over the bookcase.]
Anything there you want? I dunno if we got much use for 'em.
[It's spoken off hand as he walks past her to go examine what they have in the kitchen. If he's going to be feeding someone else, too, he'll have to make sure there's enough, which means changing his original plans.]
no subject
Dunno. I think I saw something music related for Elliot, but I don't wanna just take it until you know if you want to keep it.
[Surprisingly mature of her. When he starts looking through the food stores, Fie makes a 'hmm' noise, walking over to stand beside Shinji and look at things, too.]
I can go grab some ingredients from the market if you need something. It's not far. [She is aware that her imposition is not convenient, so offering to front the cost of food is a sort of bargaining method. Not one she'd offer to everyone, either. Offer out there, Fie steps back to look around the house. It's cozy, reminding her of some homes in Heimdallr.]
It's just three of you here, right?
no subject
I ain't much of a reader. You'd have to ask the others about it. Could probably just taken it and bring it back when he's don,e though. [But her last question is a bit of a sore spot right now, and before responding he sighs out an aggravated breath.]
Yeah. It is now. [Not offering any more of an explanation to that, he picks a few small glass jars down before seeming to be pleased with the selection.]
You ain't got any allergies or anything, right?
