What: Makoto's first full moon brings with it some uncomfortable changes.

"So that's why you've got that bandage," Makoto says, nodding. That makes sense... although he immediately feels a burning need to know what monster he is.

"It's not going to leave a scar, is it? You've got enough of those as it is," he says with a playful smile. As he speaks, he steps forward, intending to get a better look at Rich's face - instead, he sees the glint of black clawed talons. Oh. Hmm. Chimera, maybe?

"I'll walk back with you if you want. Especially if you're drunk and just good at hiding it."

"Nah, probably not." Rich offers a small snort at that. "If anything, it's just going to end up a scar on top of a scar, so is that really going to be noticeable?"

He smiles at Makoto's offer, even if he rolls his eyes a bit. "I don't really drink, actually. So if I'm drunk, I'll be as surprised as you are."

"Really?" he hummed, somewhat impressed. It's not like he's some kind of party-crazy delinquent, but he'd accepted a few offered drinks from a certain drunkard monk in the past, and after the day he's had, he wouldn't turn it away now either.

"Huh. Well, I can still walk you back if you want. I'm probably about to go in the same direction to get home."

Rich doesn't think he's very impressive. Avoiding alcohol seems like a pretty logical idea after... well, after all his respective baggage. He isn't going to use booze as a crutch. He's got other crutches, it seems.

"I wouldn't mind that. We can both make sure we make it back safe, right?"

"Yeah," Makoto says with a nod. He and Rich walk for a short distance together in silence, their footsteps interrupting the mostly empty street around them.

"So, a party," he begins, trying to make conversation. "For what? And how'd it go?"

[firewalled]

"It was a friend's birthday." Is Connor a friend? It seems like he is now. Maybe they're getting to that point, after their shaky first meeting. Rich smiles wryly.

"Went well until the changes set in, I guess. I don't know what I am, but I've got scales, so. What about you? I can see your eyes are different."

Scales - that's what Fuuka had earlier today, too. Makoto looks Rich over, openly trying to get a good look at the scales he's talking about. If they looked the same as Fuuka's, maybe they're the same monster. And if he experienced anything else, then maybe that'd be something Fuuka would have to deal with, too.

"My eyes, yeah," he says, still pondering his scales. "My meat cravings got even worse... they're really just blood cravings, like I expected. But I managed not to bite any humans. That's a victory."

Most of the scales are covered by the bandage, but there are a few orange and red ones slowing covering the scar that moves up his neck. They likely seem drier than merrow scales, though.

Rich raises an eyebrow. "Blood cravings? Like a vampire, huh? You good now? I hope you got something to tide you over..."

Rich's scales aren't the same color as Fuuka's, but they look similar, and he has some on his neck just like her.

"I did," he says quickly, hoping to relieve any fear he has without having to explain what he tided himself over with. "But yeah, vampire confirmed. I don't know whether I should be relieved or upset." Probably relieved, but the craving has been worse than he'd expected so far.

Rich isn't afraid exactly... If he had to say he was anything, he thinks he's more curious about the changes Makoto is going through.

"Well, I'm glad if the cravings are gone." It feels weird to mention that he could help when it seems that Makoto has already dealt with it. "It's better than a lot of things you could have turned out to be."
