[ eren can be found outside of clothing stores, stalls, any of them, all of them, dispatching employees to choose pieces at his own discretion— because he has no clothes.
mostly no clothes! he only dawns with him pants and his new tailored shoes (but only because it rains). any fabric from the waist up is nonexistent, leaving a chizzled back, abdomen and chest spread with black and scarlet scales to freedom. regular shirts have become an imprisonment to the titian membranes that anchor along his ribcage, webbing across the elongations of his elbow and forearm and forming limbs that aren’t dissimilar to a bat’s. it doesn’t restrict much movement, just takes up more space, and requires some getting used to beyond growing pains and stretch sensations where there shouldn’t be.
he’s gotten some suggestions from a young, enthusiastic fashionista that’s attempting to fit some of her homemade pieces onto him every so often. she’s like, thirteen, though. and seems way too excited that someone has (quietly) agreed to model her wild ideas. she’s aware they’re crazy! but that’s the beauty of it! she proclaims. it made her day. she almost cried.
hence eren’s (quiet) compliance. it’s a goddamn kid living her dream and he doesn’t want to be the one to shatter that in her.
you’ll see eren removing the garments and setting them brusquely on top of a mannequin, before coming to you with saturated scales— a telling sign that he’s feeling a pique in his emotions. laces intricately weave onto his horns and how his growing hair is braided into a loose bun . . . it is and isn’t a look for him all at the same time. ]

Okay. I'll ask the music school too. Maybe they know a good path for a young costume designer.
[He wasn't about to promise that this girl could develop fashions for his performances. He knows he was far too much of a perfectionist for that to work out. But, maybe he can always appreciate someone who is so passionate to follow their path. Nothing wrong with helping them out.

Listen, Eren ... someone told me once that clothes are a form of self-expression. It's a way of telling the world who you are without saying anything. So someone that's free would wear stuff they want to wear, that expresses who they really are.
[Like how there's no mistaking that Elliot's a musician based on anything he wears. He gestures at the cloaks he picked]
Do those cloaks feel like they express who you are?
[He's trying not to sound judgmental, because maybe Eren really does like those outfits. He's fine with them if they do. But he does want Eren to think it over more]

he’ll take them, naturally, and slip them on. he doesn’t use the mirror much once it’s on, only moving his arms up and down, fast then slow, wider and shorter to test his movement. doesn’t get too in the way, but he does try and make some fast jolts to his waist, where he keeps his curved fighting blade.

As Eren tries it on, Elliot will reach his hands around and adjusts bits of fabric, glancing in the mirror to see how it looks. Eren's lack of satisfaction is noted, and he's about to make a remark about maybe finding a different cut- but stop when Eren asks him.
Right. The Bond. Makes it harder to hide such emotions. He's quiet for a moment, almost tempted to say he rather not talk about it...but there's only so many times he can say that one. Bonds don't react well to people holding one another at arms length.]
...Not you, exactly. [It's not your fault.] I was just thinking how a friend of mine would've been much better at explaining and finding outfits for you. He loved doing stuff like this.
[It's not unusual for Elliot to miss his friends, but there was something different about Elliot's words on this one. The past tense, the faraway sadness in his eyes that don't quite meet Eren's. He busies his hands with adjusting bits and pieces of the cloak]

["Forward, relentlessly", as he had said. He had spent his final moments trying to comfort the rest of them. Elliot wasn't going to deny his own sadness, he'd never been good at bottling up his emotions. But he had to keep going, to make sure something from Crow's dreams survived.
And that's all he seems willing to share about that today. He goes back to focusing on the clothes. When Eren puts on that shorter shawl, his eyes light up as he looks it over.]

If you say someone's hot though, it just means you think they're sexy. Though finding someone hot doesn't mean they can't be cool. Like I think Mikleo's cool, but I'd also say he's hot.
