I think it's time we closed out your tab and got you home, [he says with a gentle nudge to get Waver to sit up. He finishes off his glass and holds out his hand, motioning for Waver to hand over his coin purse.] I'll handle it.
[Waver should probably not be doing math in this state to calculate a tip.]

Not that he argues. Waver makes a vague grumbling noise but complies, complaining mostly that he has to scoot over and sit up. He'll hand over the coins though, trusting Ozymandias's honor enough he's sure, even drunk, that the pharaoh wouldn't cheat him or steal from him. It doesn't even cross his mind.
Mostly, he just wants to crawl into bed. (Though he should probably eat something since he was too cheap to buy food... maybe he'll remember eventually......)
Waver shakes his head a bit, as if trying to shake off the hazy, sleepy feeling. ]
M'kay. You all done?
[ He really drank that whole pitcher... wow. ]

I am! [Maybe. Probably. There's no guarantee he won't pop open a bottle of wine when he gets home. But for the sake of getting Waver home, he's going to be done for now.] I'll see to it that you get back home or, at the very least, that you are reunited with Iskandar.
[He starts pulling coins out for a tip now. Here's where Waver may object as Ozymandias chooses to be a very generous tipper.]

When they start seeming to be too many coins, his brows furrow. He reaches out to grab his coin purse back, misjudges the distance, and mostly just succeeds in smacking Ozman's wrist ineffectively. ]
Hey, I don't think it cost that much!

[ Does he need to?? He doesn't really go to bars here... or like. at all. but he's also not used to tipping very much (or anything) depending on the situation back home either, and especially considering he's poor as fuck.
He actually has more money here than he had back home even before he spent it all (and then some) on chasing stupid dreams of the Grail.
Waver hesitates, taken aback. He's a little stingy maybe, but he doesn't want to be mean... ]
I guess... if it's customary...
[ good thing they didn't order food huh ]

There. [He hands the coin purse back to Waver.] You'll see I haven't left you a pauper from drink or tip.
[He slides out of the booth seat and offers a hand to Waver to help him up. Ozymandias isn't sure if he's got the physical coordination to get out without a little assistance, but probably better not to take any chances.]

[ It's unclear whether the response is to Ozymandias's reassurance about his money or his offered hand and indication that they should be making their way out. Either way, Waver pockets his coin purse, then scoots closer along the bench, and finally hauls himself up with a grunt. He grips the Pharaoh's hand with both of his own for leverage. Once standing he... doesn't let go.
He stands there, blinking slowly, as if trying to remember what the hell they were doing. Being upright feels a bit different from being sat down. A bit more... swaying. The world, that is. It's decided to wiggle, just a little, at the edges. ]
Oof...

Can you walk?
[Ozymandias is beginning to doubt it.]
no subject
Yyyeah.
...prob'ly.
[ If he gives it his best shot! Actually, he can almost definitely walk, but does he want to? That's another question. It feels like so much effort.
Waver lets go with one hand to muffle a yawn in the back of the other. ]
How far's it?
[ How far is your own home?? Waver??? ]
no subject
You don't know where your home is anymore?
no subject
[ Waver grumbles back, affronted. Gosh, he's not that drunk. Maybe. Probably. ]
I don't remember how far it is. 'Cause I came from work. And you accosted me. And brought me here.
And I've never been here before.
[ So in other words, he's a little turned around, aka lost, but it's fine! He's fine. Give him a map. Or point him in the right direction. It's no problem!! ]

If you don't know the way, you ought to tell the truth. I've no interest in wandering the city all night while you try to remember where you live, [he says, carrying him right on out of the tavern. Their waitress waves to them slightly as they pass by the bar and Ozymandias nods to her as he tucks Waver in a little closer to himself to avoid Waver knocking into the doorframe.] Shall I take you back to where I "accosted" you to have a pleasant evening out?

[ UMM what's goin on hey hold on now?? Waver yelps a little in surprise as he's swung up into Ozymandias's arms like a princess, a startling enough development that he forgets to actually argue. His surprised squirming quiets down fast. Waver just ends up holding onto Ozymandias's shoulder, bewildered. Maybe it's just that he's kind of used to being picked up and carted around... he accepts his fate. ]
I can remember where I live! I can tell you the address and everything. I told you!
[ His whining is even less effective when he's wiggling around in Ozymandias's arms... ]
no subject
[To be fair to Ozymandias, Waver with a couple of drinks in him is a little bit of a disaster. So, he's going to remain unapologetic about his skepticism. And also not putting Waver down no matter how much he might wiggle.]
no subject
He's going to be learning from this one...
At least he's not throwing up in the bushes? Yet?? ]
In the Haven! [ The apartment complex probably has some sort of name, insert address here because yes, he does know it, but he absolutely should not be trusted to make his way back to it on his own so thanks for being a bro, dude. ]
no subject
[Once they reach the address, Ozymandias double checks with him at least three times that they've got the correct place, waiting until Waver starts to squirm before carefully setting him back down on the ground. Then much like allowing a toddler to take their first, uneasy steps, Ozymandias hovers behind Waver for just a moment as he climbs the steps. Just in case.]
[But it is without incident that Waver manages to make it to the door and gets the door open. Assured that even if Waver doesn't make it to his room, he'll at least be inside, Ozymandias bids him a goodnight and finally parts ways with his slightly above average drinking partner.]
